As for Maroon 5; who were concidered on Alternative Rock band; I was hinting that you won't find any songs like "Harder To Breathe"(Alt hit)or "This Love" on thier future albumes. It's mostly all programmed music for them now a days. I think that in some of these cases, the songwriter's musical taste changes, though, or they feel like they've exhausted their old sound and need to come up with a new one to keep current - just from watching The Voice, I think Adam Levine really likes pop/soul/rhythm/etc., so I don't think it's being programmed for him/forced on him - same with Rob Thomas (if you listen to his new single, it's almost unbelievable that he started out writing for a rock/alternative band)

Great, 2nd single with a pretentious "concert montage" video and it's not even a great song R.I.P WTM :c I had much higher hopes for you guys... If Work This Body were single #2 with a funny video for it.. These guys would have had a chance

These guys would have had a chance Work This Body woulda been a poor choice if alt success is their concern...this was the right one for now. Work This Body isn't alternative material IMO. Could work as a dual release where it goes to CHR though.

I hope they still release "Aquaman". If anything ; just for the oldschoolers to enjoy.

Actually, I'd enjoy Aquaman probably more than Work This Body, that has more CHR/Alt potential

The more I listen to "Different Colors" the more I feel it has a very strong Third Eye Blind vibe to it . Nicholas even sounds a bit like Stephan Jenkins in this song

But now that the format finally seems to be dropping Shut Up And Dance, this is probably going to have a fairly quick rise and by the time it's up toward the top, Tear In My Heart and Renegades will have peaked. Unless it exceeds my expectations, I don't think Dreams will be strong enough to block it, and I don't think Crystals will be strong enough either. Unless this stalls like The Wolf is right now, I think the only song strong enough to block this would be Muse's Mercy, and this has an advantage over that as this is already on the chart while Mercy is not. However, I shouldn't have said this is probably going #1, but I think it has a good chance at doing so.

Second #1 in a row for Walk The Moon. I'll bet on that. This and Beck should keep that "Sedona" song below the top 40.

They've teamed with Pepsi for a summer ad campaign using this song: Billboard

Not bad. I would have preferred Avalanche, but I can dig Different Colors.

I really can't see this going anywhere near #1 - it's alright IMO, but sounds like it's gonna burn quickly - also, it's #123 on the Alternative ITunes Chart, whereas Shut Up And Dance debuted around #5 or #6 in Alternative Sales its first week, and has stayed either in the Top 10 or close to it ever since
I think "I Am" has a much better chance of hitting #1

Walk The Moon's two for two with this album. Hopefully, their pop success won't turn them into Imagine Dragons. I'd rather their next album not be complete crap and they (rightfully) flop on all formats.

This is the second single on an album that has been around since December (and this was released before then and was Top 10 fyi). I'd say this is doing pretty on par with what second singles start off as.

I don't know - if it were going to hit #1, I think its sales would be a lot higher than this, especially since so many people bought Shut Up And Dance and had the opportunity to sample this and buy it if they wanted to
I'm not saying it can't go Top 10, I just really doubt it's going to be anywhere near as successful as SUAD

This would be the perfect song for the news of gay marriage being legalized.

I guess its okay. But unlike Shut Up And Dance, this sounds waaay to much like the "average" alternative act for me to enjoy.

And this: If anything, "Different Colors" brings to mind racial equality. I don't think the band wrote the song specifically to support gay marriage, but used it after finding out how supportive the lyrics were
