Interesting way to market her... She did NBA promo for her Christmas album: www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRyLQbHHuO0So I suspect they really like her which is great to hear! Also Leona's PA replied to me on twitter and said the US have a lot to look forward to. So I wouldn't be surprised if they have a rigorous marketing campaign to reestablish Leona in the US.

I doubt the US will see it chart on iTunes until her promo kicks in. She hasn't had a hit here or made any appearances since what 2008/09? Once she starts everything here it will be ok.

Not liking the video for Fire under my feet : ( No, nº4 in the UK chart is not a smash, to know if a song is a smash on the UK chart you need to look at the chart run. the song only was 5 weeks in the top 40. That's a decent hit but not a smash by any means (and you can compare with other Leona songs that really were smashes)

The biggest crime was "I See You" from Avatar not being pushed. Now THAT was a global smash waiting to happen.

Has risen to #236 on US iTunes for some reason. Not sure what caused it, perhaps NBA promo? I know she's been on social media promoting it and Billboard/Def Jam promoted it yesterday. But I don't think it was that. Maybe a major radio station played it?
I hope her team will give this an adds date very soon if they're going to push it (which it looks like they will).
Edit: It's featured on "Hot Tracks" on US itunes and is now top 200 at #192.
Edit 2: Up to #157 now.

Has this already been released in the UK? I thought it was pushed back to June 28th?

It's currently #140 on Usa itunes, pretty remarkable considering there's no radio airplay yet.

Didn't make the UK top 40 sadly.
No idea why they brought the UK release forward again, that was never going to work out well. I hope they get there act together for the U.S. Launch.

It'll hopefully climb in the UK in the coming weeks or so as she has more promotion coming up. It's kind of a weird release as they brought the release forward just as it was starting to get airplay. It's more of an on air/on sale release than a held back release.

Can someone explain UK releases. Does it get released to iTunes (with no radio play) and that number determines if it gets radio play? How does a new song without a huge fanbase get a song played? or to become a hit? I noticed this with Leona and Lambert. I understand Leona has a fanbase but it is confusing how they do things over there. How do new songs by someone like Rixton become a hit. They didn't do well on iTunes either. Does that mean all these singles are done?

Does that mean all these singles are done? The UK Official Chart is made up of sales (digital, physical) and a % of streaming. Most releases are available on preorder for 6-10 weeks, which are added in the first week total. The number of Radio plays is independent of the official chart, it is purely promotional, although highlight important of course. Normally, releases are timed after, during a radio, TV promotional tour. in Leona's case she had some decent AirPlay on a biggish Radio station, Radio 2, but that was it. Although she has a few TV things coming up it is likely it has peaked. Due to front loaded preorders being counted already. Adam had 1 TV appearance and a few radio plays. GT was made an instant grat and half priced last week, which was a significant front load. No idea if he as any UK promo lined up, but he has a reasonable UK fan base and some radio station fans. it's likely it has peaked, but he has a chance of maybe just making top 40 next week. The vast majority of UK songs peak in the first week of release.

Leona will be in the US from July, so I assume that's when they'll decide to push this or another single if they've changed their minds.

Does that mean all these singles are done? I can explain UK releases as VERY frustrating , annoying and stupid .if it is an established artist the song will go to radio first .then it's available for pre order on I tunes , then the video to go with the song is sent to all music tv stations , Vevo etc . The artist will then often appear on tv shows singing the song that the public cannot actually buy , only pre order !. Eventually it can be bought , often after AirPlay has peaked and now in retreat ! . Some people are past it now . All this is done to try and achieve a very high entry into the weekly national chart . For unknown artists , t will be sent to radio and I tunes around the same time , with the hope Radio 1 or Capital will pick it up . A video will be made if it starts to get AirPlay or enter I tune chart . Currently Little Mix " black magic " is getting very heavy airplay but not available to buy .Jason Derulo was available all over the world to buy , but despite being played on UK radio for 2 months it was not available until 3 weeks ago . It really is record companies playing silly games .
