I think the biggest mistake was releasing the album in October. She would have a better chance at getting some noms if it made the 2015 grammys eligibility period. There was so much buzz around her comback reviews were great, and urban ac welcomed her with open arms. In 2016 Unbreakble is an old news + she cancelled the tour because she's busy being pregnant. The album was originally to be released in September, but they delayed it to add "Dammn Baby".

Maybe a mistake if we're solely focused on Grammys, but I don't think the release date was a mistake as as a whole. Releasing the week she did, enabled her to join a VERY small club of artists who have #1 albums spanning four decades. That was and still is a pretty huge deal. I'm not sure it would've happened in September, given the sales of those releases. I don't think they should've sacrificed that kind of accolade just to meet the Grammy cutoff. My theory is, had they submitted "No Sleeep" in the correct categories, resulting in a nomination or two, perhaps Janet would have been fresher in the minds of people who voted for the song when it came time to vote for the album in 2016. But who really knows; these things are no longer as cut and dry as they were in the past. I'm okay with how things turned out, mistakes included. I'm just really happy with Unbreakable. It made a nice handful of year-end critics lists last year, so it is appreciated, despite the lack of award nominations.

Yes! And that VH1 Fashion Awards performance was like a flame to gasoline; she lit that stage UP! So glad she didn't go with VH1's idea to perform "Go Deep."

I wish they had released "What About". I love that song. And what was up with Top 40 basically ignoring "Go Deep"? It was catchy...

The Jackson's are always so secretive. I wouldn't be surprised if the baby was already born. I'm sure they'll release some statement soon.

Damn, Janet wasn't inducted into R&R Hall of Fame. But it seems like Tupac has been selected.

She definitely should've released the album to meet last years Grammy deadline. It's horrible that great album was ignored.

This year, I was so indifferent when I found out HOF ignored her again. I think she'll get there eventually. Tupac is the best proof of it imho.

there have been several artists inducted either right before their death or posthumously for example both of John Lennon's inductions came posthumously the Beatles were inducted in 1988 and Lennon was inducted as a Solo Artist in 1994 or Dusty Springfield's induction was announced in December 1998 she passed away March 2nd 1999 and the ceremony took place on March 15th 1999 with Elton John accepting her induction on her behalf

This was Tupac's first year of eligibility (s well as Pearl Jam's).
Janet should be voted in eventually- at least she's had back-to-back nominations, after not being nominated the first eight years of her eligibility. In regard to voters, we don't know what they're thinking when they're casting their ballots. Some voters may think other females belong, who have yet to be nominated or inducted, and thus they opt not to vote for Janet at this time. Who knows.

Hey, I love the woman as much as anyone else and have played the shit out of all her records. It'd just be nice for her to have a moment again (though I know it's a lot to ask for).

I think Unbreakable was her late-career masterpiece, but I understand what you're saying. Not sure she could pull it off with another producer, though. She has a certain comfort and confidence with Jimmy & Terry.

IMHO, she does best when she, Jimmy, and Terry have done best in this latter stage of her career when they bring in a fresh young producer to enhance their sound.

Unbreakable was actually a good comeback. Had her tour not been canceled, the era would have been bigger and lasted longer. I also think she would have gotten a couple of Grammy noms. While Grammy voters are supposed to focus on the actual music, I think they infuse industry politics and popularity in their rationale for their vote. I think some people saw her tour cancelation as "this chick still ain't got it together completely. Next time maybe." And Janet's team messed up last year by not submitting No Sleeo in the R&B categories. She would have certainly gotten that nomination and won Best R&B song.

Come on now. She ain't had this baby yet? Or is she hiding him?!! You do realize that privacy is her middle name and her last name is control? Janet isn't like this generation, tweeting and posting every moment of her life. The baby was born in November. But she'll let us know whenever she's ready to.

I know, but I assume that paparazzi would have found away to get the news that she delivered. Lol. I guess her "I'm doing well tweet" from back in November was a post delivery cryptic tweet. Lol.

I don't know how she's managed to avoid paparazzi as much as she does for all of these years, but it's a skill. I personally feel like that tweet was a "I just had the baby but I won't tell you yet but I want you all to know I love you" moment.

Im sure she had the baby at home. Now that I think about it, that makes total sense. And she can then control the privacy!
