Janet Jackson Welcomes Son EissaIt’s a boy! Janet Jackson and husband Wissam Al Mana welcomed their first child, a son, on Tuesday, Jan. 3, her rep confirms to PEOPLE exclusively. “Janet Jackson and husband Wissam Al Mana are thrilled to welcome their new son Eissa Al Mana into the world,” her rep says in a statement. “Janet had a stress-free healthy delivery and is resting comfortably.” Jackson married Qatari businessman Al Mana in 2012, and news of their first child’s impending arrival was reported in May. Speculation first began when the singer postponed her Unbreakable World Tour so, as she said in a video posted to Twitter in early April, she and Al Mana could focus on their family. “We’re in the second leg of the tour, and there actually has been a sudden change,” she said in the clip. “I thought it was important that you be the first to know. “My husband and I are planning our family,” she continued. “So I’m going to have to delay the tour.” In October, the singer shared a baby bump photo exclusively with PEOPLE, saying, “We thank God for our blessing.” Though Jackson has been fairly quiet regarding her pregnancy, she was spotted running errands for baby supplies at London’s Back in Action furniture store in September. And while she was out and about, Jackson kept her baby bump under wraps in sweatpants, a black sweater and a matching scarf. Soon after the sighting, a source close to the Jackson family told PEOPLE Jackson was eager to become a mom for the first time. “She is super excited about her pregnancy and is doing extremely well,” the source said in September. “She actually feels very good about everything.” Her older brother Jermaine Jackson has also shared a few details of his youngest sister’s pregnancy journey. “She’ll be a great mother because she is very tough, very strict,” Jermaine, 61, who has nine children of his own, said in May. “But I tell her, ‘If you need any parenting skills or baby skills, let me know because I’m the best diaper changer there is on this planet, still to this day.’ ” people.com/babies/janet-jackson-welcomes-son-eissa/?xid=socialflow_twitter_peoplemag

As the mother of a baby that was literally just born, I expect her to spend the appropriate amount of time bonding with her baby before she resumes her professional life. That said, congrats! I love the name, too. I have an Egyptian friend named Essa.

Yay! Congrats Janet. So happy for her. New inspiration for her next album.
I do think it's shady that she's paying dust to her first child that Rebbie raised... I'm jk!

Aww. This makes me so happy! I love the name (even though I might be pronouncing it incorrectly). I knew she'd have a boy! So many people were saying girl, but I had this feeling it'd be a boy. Enjoy mommyhood, Jan. As the mother of a baby that was literally just born, I expect her to spend the appropriate amount of time bonding with her baby before she resumes her professional life. That said, congrats! I love the name, too. I have an Egyptian friend named Essa. Congrats on your new baby!

I had the most amazing dream last night!!
Janet and I were passengers together on a train to Washington DC - we has several hours just to chat and hang out. We didn't talk about much of not, but it was a pleasant several hours. I woke up before the train arrived.

We keep doubting we'll see the baby, but who expected her to take that exclusive baby bump picture or announce the baby's name/birthdate? I mean, at this point, Janet seems to be gradually allowing access, so I wouldn't be surprised to see the baby soon. On her own terms, as always. That's how she rolls.

looking at his Instagram, seems like he was a life long Janet fan who was lucky to have the honor of dancing for her. That must have been a dream come true for him, rip.

So can we talk about this? www.billboard.com/articles/news/grammys/7677099/best-award-show-performances-of-all-timeHOW in the hell does Billboard compile a list of 100 best award show performances and Janet Jackson is nowhere on the list? R U SERIOUS? I don't understand the disrespect for an artist who has been praised for her influence in performance and visuals was left off this list and it's truly cruel and insulting to her legacy. As a performer she has influenced 90% of the women listed on that list and I know it's just a stupid list, but Billboard is a respected publication and to list ALL of her peers and skip her was an intentional slap in the face.

stunnedout i have been looking on Twitter and it seems a lot of Janet fans have been tweeting the author, Andrew Unterberger (@augetoffmygold) expressing their distaste with the intentional exclusion of Janet. Andrew never explained why he would exclude such an obvious visual influencer,in fact he even liked a tweet from someone saying he should continue to leave Janet off future lists if this is the reaction he'll get. In other words, he's trash. Janet won't fully get the recognition she truly deserves until she passes, unfortunately : /. Seems idiotic for the most Billboard awarded female to be left off this list but at this point I am used to it. PS. It should be noted his profile picture is of Justin Bieber, fwiw.

LOL, I feel like that first one from the 1987 Grammys with the rearrangement of WHYDFML is just like "Haters can suck it! I don't lipsync!"
