I obviously need to brush up on my Billboard rules. Clare's song lost audience this week for the third week in a row, and I thought it would go recurrent. Not only did it not go recurrent, it regained its bullet. It did show a small gain in spins. Can a spin gain hold off going recurrent in spite of AI loss for the third week in a row?

Sad that this still isn't going anywhere. This is such a jam. :(

"Move On" is just about finished. Its lost 33 spins and 500k in total audience the past five days on MB and since its gone three weeks in a row (which will be four weeks as of November 9th) without audience on Billboard Airplay, this will go recurrent on Monday.

Actually Clare re-bulleted on BB. So she should get one final week. I think with Clare her label will give her a second chance and if that song doesn't quite make it. Then I think she will be dropped. So Clare's BB Peak was #44 and MB #43 I wanna say. This definitely got lost in the shuffle.

As for her future with MCA Nashville/UMG, I don't quite see it the way you do. Clare should get a few singles, I'd imagine. Mike Dungan loves her as an artist and they're going to try their best to break her at radio.

Who knows maybe this will be a James Wesley (think I got the name right) and Kristy Lee Cook situation at Broken Bow. Regardless I just don't see her songs doing too much and I think sooner than later her label will realize she won't make it to be a star.

You originally said you thought she would get dropped after her second single. Obviously, if she releases four or five singles that do nothing, then she will most certainly get dropped but they're as committed as a major label can be in an artist these days. James Wesley is just a unique situation since Broken Bow is an independent label that makes major money, with a rich owner, so the circumstances allow for such a luxury to take place. UMG isn't like that. So while I do think they're invested with Clare, they will most certainly cut the cord eventually. I do not think it will be after just two singles though.

With the success of Nashville and knowing that Clare Dunn is a favorite of the label head, I'd be surprised if she's going anywhere anytime soon. Whether they're able to turn her TV success into an actual country recording career success remains to be seen, but I definitely think she has potential to at least have her one allowed Top 20 hit as a female artist with another single -- since this one (sadly) never took off.

Here I am going to rephrase what I originally meant. I just don't see her breaking out and becoming a star. I just don't even see a Top 20 out of her. If her debut song couldn't even scratch the Top 40 then I just don't see subsequent songs doing better.

What does Clare Dunn have to do with Nashville? Maybe he was thinking of Clare Bowen? As for Clare Dunn, I like her material and talent as a musician. Mike Dungan called her the most "ready" of new artists who ever walked through his door for Th first time. I think it's saf to say he's invested.

Ah that would make sense lol I always forget her real name is Clare Bowen, I always think it's something else. Admittedly I sometimes think her real name is Scarlett

Wow, I totally thought this girl was the one from that show. Well I guess I needed to find that out sooner rather than later, lol.

Kinda hard to remember peaks exactly the deeper down the chart you go.

The song did re-bullet, which was the reason for my original post at the top of this page. It was her third week in a row with AI loss, but she had a small spin increase. Is the spin increase the reason for regaining the bullet?
