It should be #1. I've never had the itch to write an iTunes review (though I have done my fair share of YouTube comments...) but good for Jamie - she nailed it. It's now #1, though the review below it had one more listener that found it helpful (but had more listeners found it not helpful) and is also 1/5 stars. This was the previous #1 Why??? by mckenzie20 Why do people like him? This is literal trash! I understand your frustration, but there are millions of things I hate that other people like in this world. Food, music, clothes, people, etc. I know you think it's trash and there will be plenty of people who agree with you. But there are also people who enjoy it (as shown by Luke's sales numbers). It's one thing to be frustrated with the genre itself changing - and that I get. But please don't get hung up on trying to understand why other people like it. "One man's trash is another man's treasure." Obviously, not talking about you, since this is review, just talking in general terms. :)

I was just sharing Jamie's iTunes review of the song. The post you quoted was for sabre14 that Jamie's review is now the most helpful on iTunes and I also wrote the previous most helpful review there to let him know that the previous most helpful review was also negative.

Just clearing that up, lol. :)

Two things went through my mind after hearing the live clip and before reading the thread just now: Pulse is gonna hate this, and I'm going to be in the minority. After hearing the studio, I can confirm what I already thought- I love this. Both the melody and production sound good to my ears. One thing you have to remember about me though is that generally speaking, I love songs that are written in minor keys. I certainly don't find this boing; I find it quite melodically pleasing. The last half of the chorus is a bit messy, but I still like it. Lyrics are bad and are what you come to expect from a Luke Bryan song, but I like how the song sounds, so I don't care. Obviously this song is going to perform just fine- Luke could sing the phone book and it would be a mega hit.

^I will believe it when I see it. Am I like the only person who hates Drink A Beer I found it to feel so fake and Luke's delivery to be nothing short of flat. He needs to sound more into the ballads and maybe I'll take him seriously. I'm with you. Didn't think too highly of it. Sounded like he was phoning it in. The entire crash my party album was horrendous.

Have just noticed that the total streams for the various "Kick Up The Dust" videos on YouTube has gone past the 900,000 mark. The official Lyrics version already generates around >125,000 streams a day! Quite impressive for such a young release! Still to beat: "That's My Kind Of Night" with >51M YouTube streams and "I Don't Want This Night To End" @ <59M YouTube streams (all versions combined).
Comparison: Florida Georgia Line have... <129M YouTube clicks for "Cruise" (in all its different guises)!

I hope this suffers a terrible second week. There has to be a song too block this someone please Dude, we get it. You don't like the song. You don't like Luke. You have said it in this thread (and other threads) multiple times. It's annoying to read the same thing over and over again and also seems silly to hope for a terrible second week, when all signs point to that not happening.

I'm sorry it's just with the iHeart debut this should have a bad hangover week. I'll hold off commenting here until this gets towards the top and maybe this'll grow me. I never expected to like Sipping On Fire a from FGL maybe it'll grow on me. Luke's previous songs like Roller Coaster Play It Again Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye they've grown on me while the rest of his stuff is tolerable. But I'm just so let down by this song. It Might grow on me :)

That's My Kind of Night 2.0. Only reason it's not cringe worthy is because he doesn't have any stupid lines about diamond plated tailgates or Conway mixed with T-Pain.

"Let's tear it up up." Writers should've taken their own advice with that line and shredded this manuscript.

Because people don't like this song...it is ONLY sitting at #10 on the iTunes top songs sales chart. Dude. Some people don't like this song. Myself included. Guess what, just because lots of people don't like the song, doesn't mean others won't, thus, it being #10 on iTunes.

If you don't like the song, then don't buy and/or listen to it. There are enough iTunes buyers out there to seat this song at #10. I don't see a single post saying that this isn't a popular song, nor that nobody likes it, which is it what your original post implied.

Nice move on the mongrel chart: #49 to #2. Also, the #1 digital selling country song of the week with 127,000 sold.

Not that it really matters at this point, since most stations have already added this one, but its official add date is Monday, June 1. Nice move on the mongrel chart: #49 to #2. Yeah, I think "Crash My Party" debuted with 164,000. A first week of 127,000 is still great and I have no doubt that Luke's album will sell really well, but I'm wondering if some of his fans are listening to "Kick The Dust Up" and wondering exactly what it is that they're listening to. I've seen the song getting torn apart on a lot of different social media pages.

I no longer think Luke Bryan is better than this. This has become his signature sound and now when he comes out with songs like Drink a Beer, I can't even listen to them because I don't feel anything coming from him. I think although he's the most popular right now, he's also going to have the biggest fall.

As great as touching and meaningful songs are, the majority of people won't shell out $75-100 to see a singer sing those types of songs. They want to have fun, sing along songs, that are new to the fans. That keep the fans coming back to see his show year after year. As for your second comment, there are absolutely zero signs pointing towards Luke falling any time soon. I think that might just be wishful thinking.

Kenny Chesney has been singing quality uptempo fun songs for years. They aren't nearly as contrived and fake as Luke Bryan's stuff. This guy feels like a Billy Ray Cyrus to me now. One song made Billy Ray a overnight success but it also caused the world to never give the rest of his music a chance. Luke is one cheesy song away from losing all credibility IMO. Maybe you don't see the signs, but just sit back and watch him lose his relevancy.

Of course, at some point, he's going to lose relevancy, but everyone does (umm, look at George Strait right now :( ). So to say he is going to lose relevancy is a cop out. Of course he is. Noting lasts forever. What signs do you see that it will happen sooner than later?

Yeah except the difference is Luke already has multiple multi-platinum selling singles under his belt, whereas Billy Ray was basically a one hit wonder. I'd agree with you if Luke only released songs like this one and "That's My Kind Of Night", but he's smart enough to balance it out with meaningful songs like "Crash My Party", "Roller Coaster" and "Drink A Beer". I do agree with you though that one day radio won't keep playing Luke's new songs, as that's pretty much inevitable to any musical artist in any genre (unless they retire early or break up). However, his popularity at the moment and the fact that radio was salivating at the chance to play some new music from him shows that his fall from the top is still quite a long ways away.
