Her English music is consistently sh*tty and completely out of touch. So unless she gets a major makeover musically, I say no. If that music makeover means making American garbage, then I hope she says no and continues putting out good music. I voted yes because I see her having at least one more megahit for Latin America and Europe that will be a borderline top 10 in the USA.

I liked Empire. Even though it barely flirted with the top 40.
It depends on what you consider a megahit. If you mean a worldwide smash like Hips Don't Lie, not likely. Her vibrato reduces the amount of songs she can sing. And she'd have to work on her lyrics some.
If you mean something that does well internationally and is close to the top 10 here like Can't Remember to Forget You, I can see that happening. As others said though, she'd have to go out and sell the song.

And you can go on and on about her Vevo numbers, but Vevo was super skewed to Latin America. How do you think artists like Romeo Santos & Prince Royce have bachata songs with 500 million views on Vevo? It's not because they're popular all over the world. Vevo is currently surging in Latin America, mainly in Mexico (Mexico is Vevo’s second biggest territory). Vevo has 10 billion views a month. 1 billion of those monthly views are from Mexico. It's quite easy for a Latin song to hit 500M: www.musicbusinessworldwide.com/vevo-tops-10bn-views-january/

That was my point, her having massive Vevo views says very little about her having a broad appeal.

That was my point, her having massive Vevo views says very little about her having a broad appeal. There's no way to dissect the views completely, but when she does have a new video out, we can see the Vevo charts from around the world. She goes top 10 everywhere. Latin America will always be her biggest market; she's seen as a legend there. But, she does have broad appeal. Now someone like Romeo, him I would guess is raking in the views mostly from the parts of the world where Spanish music is popular. If you're genuinely curious, watch the vevo charts when Romeo debuts a new video. Look at where he charts. Now, check where Shakira charts when she debuts a new video. You'll quickly see she has a more broad worldwide appeal. Also, Shakira is near the top of the most viewed lists, not around the other Latin acts (like Romeo). Enrique and pitbull are in the same category as Shakira; Latin acts with broad appeal. Shakira has a 3B lead on Romeo. Source: vidstatsx.com/vevo-most-viewed
