Love the cover - don't love the title. Wishing it had more originality in it.

Um, what the fuck? Why doesn't she sound like this on her own songs?

You can preview all the tracks on iTunes now.
Listening now and pleasantly surprised by how much I like given that neither of the singles hit me hard. Old Ways, Kingdom Come, Lionheart, and Stars are the standouts. Weakest is probably Mr. Hughes. The production is also generally clearer that one would expect based on CFTS and Confident.

Listening to the previews: Old Ways - seems to be a pretty generic pop album filler, nothing amazing but nothing bad For You - I love the anthemic feel in this one! Stone Cold - FKLJSDFAKSJDBFLIASJDBGFLASDBGFSJKDBHGLJSBRGKS Kingdom Come - Those vocals, though! I love the breakdown. The beat is fire. Waitin for You - Damn. I love her power in this album. Wildfire - God damn, every single song other than "Old Ways" is so f**king good up to this point. I love the dark feel of this. Lionheart - f**k it, I'm no longer going track by track, my comments are all going to be the same: This s**t is dope. Yeah, this album is f**king amazing. Demi hit it out of the park. By far her best album. There's rock, there's soul, there's hip-hop, and she pulls it all off so perfectly. Her vocals SLAY. Probably the best we've ever heard her. "Confident" is the perfect name for this album because each track is just dripping with confidence. I really believe that she made this album with so much gusto and spark and interest. Each track I can hear how into it she is. It's outstanding! Probably the best artist-to-music connection for an entire album since 21. Also, this:

This album is pretty awesome just from the clips.
Old Ways is catchy For You is huge Stone Cold is freaking amazing Kingdom Come is awesome, but I kind of feel like the track sounds like Black Widow with verses from Wonderland... but I like it. I'm worried Iggy is going to ruin it for me Waitin for You is ok I love the subtle vocals of Wildfire Lionheart soars Yes is kind of all over the place, need to hear the whole song Father is pretty much what I expected, but it's good she's coming to peace with this Stars is kind of all over the place as well. Sounds like a Kesha song, but I kind of like it. Mr. Hughes is interesting.
I'm ready for the full album!!

Previews are great! According to these my faves from the album should be Wildfire and Kingdom Come. And Cool For The Summer, as well when I include from the songs that are out.

I am soo in love with Old Ways, it's so mainstream and generic but It got me hooked. :( Kingdom Come, Wildfire, Stone Cold and Lionheart by other faves. I am so sad that the album version of Stone Cold isn't the one from the studio. I kinda hated the album version, the vocals are so different and the production isn't that good. The Youtube/Live In Studio version sounded so epic and professional.

Demi needs to work on her runs and her control but...my GOD, what natural talent she possesses! She sounds either as close to her recorded vocals as possible or, in some cases, better.

The start of the Old Ways snippet reminds me of JoJo's Too Little Too Late, and one of the stems after "but if somebody tells me.." sounds exactly like the one in the intro to Chains. Can't wait! I hope Old Ways is the third single

The interview is kinda meh (as any interview where the subject cannot stop stating how 'real' their crew and them are tends to be) and on the lower end as far as Complex stories go, and that photo shoot is pretty much 08-09 Katy Perry to a T no matter what she thinks, but her self-confidence and openness is contagious.
Bets on opening numbers? I'm gonna say somewhere in the 75-95k range.

If Selena did 75-85k then Demi will start with max 60-65k I think ????
Tbh I'm in love with most of the snippets but I kinda hated the whole tracklist and the order of the songs. She has 3 hot pop tracks and possible singles(Confident, CFTS, Old Ways), then she goes lower for 2 songs (For You, Stone Cold) and then she has 3 (kinda) mid-tempo bangers (Kingdom Come, Waiting For You, Wildfire) and then she goes back to the mid-tempo ballads (Lionheart, Yes etc), I'd love to see a better Tracklist there. More like
1)Confident 2)Old Ways 3)For You 4)Wildfire 5)Cool For The Summer 6)Lionheart 7)Kingdom Come 8)Stone Cold 9)Waiting For You 10)Yes 11)Father (and the bonus tracks as they are). #sohyped

That interview was pretty good but I was saddened by her Grammy desperation. How many Grammys have been won by non-deserving people? Even the interviewer seemed to recognize that but she couldn't help but continue her media-trained, pageant queen response. Ugh. Also, given that Wilmer is a known cheat and douchebag, I wish she wouldn't put so much dependence on that relationship. Who knows though, maybe he has changed but I worry for her if they should break up.

I still think even with the Grammy politics getting a nomination there has to be such a self fulfilling feeling so I understand where she's coming from I'm sure she knows the gimmicks of the industry pretty well now but the Grammys are still a big deal for an artist who has been dreaming of them ever since they were little

Only a day before official release! Good job, Hollywood. Based on the clips, I am really excited for this. Demi is maturing nicely without coming across forced because she was always somewhat of a rebel.

Downloading now, can't wait to hear Old Ways in full!
Listening to it. Getting the Chains and Too Little Too Late tease even more now for Old Ways! For some reason I keep singing "tik tik boom" in the drop, as well. Although I wish the end chorus instrumental had more of an.. omph, I love this song! I hope it is the third single.

She's had the best album rollout since Taylor Swift. I'm loving all the videos and the promo she's been doing on Instagram.

I think the album is just okay after the first listen. My favorite album tracks right now are Old Ways, Waitin For You, Wildfire.

30 minutes after release, "Kingdom Come" and "Old Ways" are charting on iTunes already as well as the three previously released tracks.
Edit: An hour in and "Waitin for You," "Stars," "Wildfire," "Father," and "Lionheart" have thrown their hats into the ring as well!

Overall I enjoyed this album. It's incredibly cohesive... but almost to the point of homogeneity. No song on here is bad, but every chorus is almost interchangeable. The song structure cannot be that different among any of these songs. And it's all very loud, for lack of a better word.
That moment towards the end of "Father" was incredible, but that's really it in terms of 'moments' on the album. I can't tell you how any of the tracks between "Cool for the Summer" and "Father" go now.
Is it better than Unbroken? Absolutely. But I wildly prefer Demi and maybe even Here We Go Again to Confident. It'll be good gym music though.

I can't tell you how any of the tracks between "Cool for the Summer" and "Father" go now. I'm not sure if we're listening to the same album. How are there not moments in "Stone Cold," "Kingdom Come," and "Lionheart"? Especially "Stone Cold."

I loved the album, it's cohesive as "say selena." said and there are no fillers (maybe there's one, For You). I didn't like the order of the songs (as I said before) and also the structure of the songs. They all have a really short intro (or no intro at all) and then they start building up. We didn't see anything special in the structure of the songs, only Stone Cold and Cool For The Summer have a more unique style in doin that. Great album tho.
