I wouldn't be surprised if Rihanna took it. She's so goddamn consistent at putting out hits.

You guys have to give Rihanna credit, she has the most number one hits this decade, and she had the second most hits last decade (behind Usher), and her first number 1 was in 2006, over halfway through the 2000's.

^ Yeah, but it's the album sales that have always held her back - they aren't bad, but they aren't at the same level of success that are equitable with her stellar singles performance. If they were, she would like rank in the top 2 every year and would far and away be the winner. But because they're not, it will be hard for her to be #1. She would have to rank in the top 5-10 for the next three years, and Taylor's next album would have to flop or she would have to not release any albums in this time.

I think Rihanna's definitely got a shot at #3 after Taylor and Adele. She ended up lower than Beyonce on the Year end charts even with a big singles advantage, but really, this was only about her 4th biggest singles year this decade lol. Her album sales aren't that far behind Beyonce for the total of this decade I think that the singles gap couldn't be closed with a reasonable pace for the rest of the decade (I'm thinking Beyonce will do 1 more album before 2020, and Rihanna likely 2 with a similar outline of how this year happened.).

Everybody shouldn't forget about Drake either. He's a massive Hot 100 artist(he hasn't left the chart at all since he started back in May 2009). He's album sales are solid and he releases more than anybody. His touring numbers could be better but they're still solid.
My guess for the top 5. 1.Taylor 2.Adele 3.Drake 4.Rihanna 5.Bieber

Where do The Weeknd/Ariana/Selena rank around here? Ariana Grande (didn’t chart until 2013) 2013: 44 2014: 7 2015: 11 2016: 7 The Weeknd (didn’t chart until 2013) 2013: 94 2014: - 2015: 3 2016: 8 Selena Gomez 2010: 39 2011: 31 (Selena Gomez & The Scene) 2012: 52 (Selena Gomez & The Scene) 2013: 27 2014: 49 2015: 12 2016: 11 As can be seen, all of them would have to do extremely well for the next 3 years to have a shot, especially Selena if they don't count her work with The Scene.

song wise - I think Bruno mars can take it album wise - taylor if adele comes out with 70% of the sales of 21 and manages to do a GH album or another by 2019 the game might be hers. For now, I'll stick with Taylor radio wise - Katy streaming wise - Rihanna When adding all of it up US and WW I think Katy can take it IF she has another era of hits. Rihanna's are split between 2007-2009 and 2010-present and until recently her blockbuster albums of 2010s have usually generated 2 big top 40s perhaps if she averaged 4-5 for all her 2010s album eras the gap would be smaller. I feel like it's Katy's too lose and if she does then Taylor or Bruno might be nearby Rihanna would be next in line but after taylor or bruno since 2007-2009 won't be counted. If Adele has at least 70% of the blockbuster her '21 era' was then I think she'd push Rihanna down to 5 and nip at taylor and bruno's heels but Katy would have to have no more hits while the others have major hits for me to believe she wouldn't end up the 2010s artist of the decade. Album sales - Taylor mainly because of more output than Adele. Radio- Katy Streaming - Drake or Rihanna Overall, 1. Taylor 2. Adele are a given then 3-5 Rihanna or Drake then Bieber Maroon 5, Nicki, Weeknd, Timberlake and maybe Ariana will round out the top 10.

Ed Sheeran is a dark horse for sure. His next album could be a huge one. He has been slowly building his fan base and now this era is shutting down and more and more people are waiting for new music. Eminem could surprise as well, especially if he gets another "Rihanna" sized hit. He could easily put out 2 more albums before the decade ends if he inclines. They will both sell easily 1 million+ units with minimal promotion. But like Adele, he does not tour at all really. Even less than her. and rarely ever do any promotion. I do believe if he actually did more, he would probably take it away. Plus if he markets the album as his final one, it will be even bigger. Taylor Swift is currently the safe choice. Who knows what will happen with Adele. She will have a huge week to start off with the curiousity factor, but I do think waiting so long was really a very poor decision. If the album doesn't come out this year, she's in HUGE trouble. She's been away far too long. Imagine if Eminem's album is labeled as his last album... He will probably snatch the number 2 in our decade-end chart, right behind Taylor. What a legend.

I don't believe these YEC artist lists matters for the Artist of the decade scores. If we analyze the 2000s decade:
Artista da Década - 2000s 1. Eminem 2. Usher 3. Nelly 4. Beyoncé 5. Alicia Keys 6. 50 Cent 7. Nickelback 8. Britney Spears 9. Destiny's Child 10. Jay-Z 11. Mariah Carey 12. The Black Eyed Peas 13. P!nk 14. Kelly Clarkson 15. Kanye West 16. Ludacris 17. Rihanna 18. Creed 19. Linkin Park 20. Christina Aguilera
Chris Brown was number one artist for two years (2006 and 208) and he even made the Top20. Same happened with Akon.
+ It's a fact: Singles and numbers ones had more points than album sales. Just compare Beyoncé to Britney Spears. Or Maybe Whitney and Madonna on 90s
Doubts: I don't know the power that they'll add to Tours Boxscore, but the difference between then are all around 100m. I don't believe this will make a huge impact.

I feel like Drake has a chance to overtake Adele. Every album he drops is a streaming behemoth and if he drops a few more albums like views he should be set to win. Adele will maximum drop 1 more album this year which will probably not have as much success as her previous one.

I don't believe this will make a huge impact. Yes, I mentioned the fact that the Year-end artist lists do not perfectly predict the decade-end list when I posted the rankings, because obviously the formulas might be different, but they should be somewhat similar because they measure the same things: Hot 100 performance, album performance, streaming, etc. As for whether singles counted more than albums in the decade-end list, it's a little more complicated than that. Looking at the 2000s, it could actually be argued that albums counted more, especially if the bulk of the artist's sales were in the first half of the decade, when album sales were higher, because it seemed that they most likely just used raw sales numbers for the album component and for the singles component, I believe they stated that they used an inverse point system, and I'm not sure if the singles points made up for lower album sales later in the decade. For example, Eminem was able to be #1 primarily off of his high album sales in the first half of the decade, while ranking much lower in singles.

1. Taylor (it pains me to say this as a non-Taylor fan, but her sales and stats just dominated during 1989, Red and Speak Now, so there's little chance of anyone passing her) 2. Rihanna (very consistent, as long as she doesn't fall off the face of the Earth these last few years she should be safe. Even if she does, a top 10 placement is all but guaranteed) 3. Adele (1 more album will solidify her place here...2 more could put her at number 1 but that won't happen before 2020) 4. Drake 5. Justin B. 6. Katy (her Teenage Dream/Prism success was too big to not guarantee her a top 10 placement here, and if she comes back before 2020 she could overtake a top 5 placement) 7. Bruno 8. Nicki (all her collabs, even her misses, are too numerous not to put her in the top 10) 9. Ed (depending on how his future material does, he could go up to number 7 easily or drop out of top 10) 10. 1D (this is me being a bit optimistic...this could change easily depending on how things go, but they could also get back together and go further up the list) 11. Lady Gaga 12. Ariana (11 and 12 could flip flop if Ariana blows up these last few years) 13. Eminem 14. Maroon 5 15. Weeknd 16. Beyonce 17. Luke 18. Justin T. 19. Kendrick 20. Carrie Underwood (this is an act I think people forget about, but she quietly sells millions of albums and singles, as well as sells out tours...I'm hard pressed not to see her in at least the top 25)
Also won't count out Chainsmokers, Lady A, or someone completely new/unexpected entering the lower half of the top 20--it's early enough that a breakout act (i.e. Julia Michaels) could theoretically take off this year and dominate from here to the end of 2019. Shawn Mendes is also one to keep an eye on I think.

How does point distribution work in groups? Like, did Fergie get 25% of Black Eyed Pees points?

While she did absolutely dominate the first 3 years or so of this decade, I think that period in 2014-2015 where she was somewhat and not touring hurt her a bit. Top 5 guaranteed though.

How does point distribution work in groups? Like, did Fergie get 25% of Black Eyed Pees points? No. Groups, and solo artists from those groups, are treated separately, so Fergie would not get any points as part of the Black Eyed Peas.
