future - doesn't "jumpman" count? besides, he's already had a hit as a featured artist two years ago so alessia cara - haven't heard anything else from her, but probably disciples - probably not, although I'd love for "they don't know" to be released in the us even if it wouldn't do much

"One hit wonder" needs to not be taken so literally.

I have a hard time considering one of the most influential rap/hip-hop groups of all time one hit wonders It's going to be harder seeing them get a second hit. But if I remember right, so did Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin. But that doesn't make them any less influential.

"One hit wonder" needs to not be taken so literally. And not applied to every single artist that literally just started out.

Also, my definition of one hit wonder also depends on the target audience. Vance Joy, WALK THE MOON and George Ezra have other hits on the AAA or Alternative format, so by that notion, I wouldn't be calling them one hit wonders

I'd hardly consider X Ambassadors one hit wonders either - even if "Unsteady" flops, "Jungle" was like everywhere in June/July 2014, even if it wasn't a radio hit.

Carly Rae Jepsen is a one-hit wonder but has still made incredible music B. Soulja Boy had another big single in "Kiss Me Thru the Phone" and a cultural impact with "Turn My Swag On" C. MC Hammer had a few more hits that charted HIGHER than "U Can't Touch This" #Facts

No. You don't seem to get all bent out of shape when people call Carly Rae Jepsen, Soulja Boy and MC Hammer one hit wonders. to be fair there's usually the excuse of "carly was lead credit in "good time"", which was a hit, too. also it should be remembered the general public generally doesn't take charts into account in determining a one hit wonder.

That said, I agree with the rest of your points, and I also shake my head at N.W.A. being one hit wonders, especially since they were one of those that made rap more popular.

She is a one-hit wonder in the public's eyes. I'm not going to get up-in-arms about it because it's true. They directed that statements towards me and I don't see any lie in that statement. Still love her music though. With your agreement, I will say that the other examples were far-fetched and reaching because she is not in the same company as the other two examples.

In the realm of EVERYTHING, lets stop using Pop radio as a guiding factor considering in a lot of regions it is not even the #1 format. I'm tired of the dismissive act with people using Pop radio.

My take on those I didn't cover. Also, I think with Hula Hoop flopping and poor album sales, OMI will probably end up being a one hit wonder. Also, I think Silento may not be a one hit wonder with Watch Me become so huge and he's on a new artist's new single.
Craig Wayne Boyd - My Baby's Got a Smile on Her Face - Yes. I don't think we've heard of him recently? He's also dropped from Dot Records, which is Maddie & Tae's record label. Matt McAndrew - Wasted Love - Probably. His lead single didn't do much, so I think most people would've forgotten about him if they didn't watch The Voice. AlunaGeorge - You Know You Like It - Hard to tell as they haven't had a single on their own yet. We'll see. iLoveMemphis - Hit the Quan - Yes, Vine star. But if the label plays their cards right, he can avoid being relegated. N.W.A. - Straight Outta Compton - I already said this earlier, but they aren't one. They were the pioneers of rap music, and they have platinum-selling anthems. "Fuck tha Police" was also a popular protest song against police abuse, and one of the members of the group, Dr. Dre, was responsible for helping Eminem's career. Ice Cube from the group also said that without N.W.A., there wouldn't be an Eminem. That shows how much impact the group had. Hailee Steinfeld - Love Myself - We'll see how her second single does; her debut single IMO wasn't very good. Alessia Cara - Here - Hard to tell. But I don't think she'll be one. Post Malone - White Iverson - I think he'll stay for a while. Travi$ Scott - Antidote - 3500 underperformed, but the album debuted well and this song is rising up the Urban charts fast. I think he can have enough momentum to have another hit.
