I want "Put a Flower in My Pocket" or "Stay in My Corner". Those two seemed more immediate than the other songs on the album.

I don't like this song at all. Boring vocals from Dan Auerbach, generic instrumentation, and especially, generic lyrics about being heartbroken. Dan Auerbach is one of the worst musicians of all time, and Turn Blue was one of the worst albums of 2014. Why one would even list it as one of the best albums of 2014 is beyond me, especially when every track is just boring music. He should just retire.

I exaggerated on purpose. I was just trying to trigger H. because he called Breaking Benjamin (and ETA: Rise Against) boring, but I've seen more people called Turn Blue boring. I actually like Dan. Little Black Submarines was great. I hope y'all don't take this too seriously, it's just a joke.

Joke or not, but if your intentions were to "trigger" H., that's against Pulse Rules, and something you can get reported for. I know you probably meant no harm, but please refrain from this as we do not need bickerings over whether an artist is "the worst" or "the best."

Turn Blue, imo was the best album of 2015. Every song had a killer guitar riff or solo, and all held meaning. Unlike BB and most of music these days. If I took this the wrong way, I apologize ahead of time.

Secondly, the bold part is subjective. IMO, Fever does not have a killer guitar riff or solo, but Angels Fall and Failure had great instrumentation. And almost every song on Turn Blue is about broken relationships. I don't wanna argue any further as this will go out of topic.

This sounds like it should have been on Turn Blue. The lyrics fit and the guitar riff does too.

Now back to the song... This sounds like it should have been on Turn Blue. The lyrics fit and the guitar riff does too. Pipa beat you to it. This sounds like it was supposed to be the third single to "Turn Blue". And to be honest, this is better than both Weight of Love or Fever from TBK's last album.

They need to release a second single soon. The rest of the album sounds kind of like early TBK.

I still haven't listened to Yours Dreamily yet, but I think it should be more BK-like than Turn Blue
And ETA: it's on Spotify too.
Hopefully TBK put their future music on Spotify. All music should be on iTunes and Spotify. (cough, cough Taylor Swift and Garth Brooks...)

Yeah, I was just playing around since he called BB and Rise Against boring when he called Turn Blue the best album of 2014, which I think is laughable lol. The reviews speak for itself too, as all of BB's and RA's albums have higher average scores than Turn Blue on Sputnik.

I mean, I'm a user, but I would never say they are the GP.

But yeah I agree, some of their reviews aren't very reliable, but I think overall it's still a good indicator of whether an album is good.

Everything is based on your tastes, not someone else's. If you don't like Turn Blue, that's fine. If H. likes Turn Blue, that's fine too. It's just that you have two different tastes. Just because he likes it and you don't doesn't make him have a bad taste. No one has a bad taste in music, it's damn near impossible.

Sputnik is one of the worst music reviewing sites. Everything gets bad reviews there. It was Turn Blue that was in the top five of Rolling Stone's top 40 albums of 2014 list, not Rise Against (and deservedly so).

To be fair, post hardcore and punk tend to get neglected by the press and Rolling Stone didn't even review The Black Market, so that's not a fair comparison. But if there's any consolation, Yours Dreamily got an average score of 3.3 on Sputnik, which is higher than BB's latest album and just 0.1 less than RA's latest album.

Turn Blue was a crap album.
The only reason you think Sputnik hates everything is because you listen to bad music.
Rolling Stone's lists are garbage.
There, thread summarized.

The only reason you think Sputnik hates everything is because you listen to bad music. No, Sputnik is full of morons who think underground music is best music, and anyone who thinks otherwise is beneath them. At least they aren't as bad as Pitchfork though. But seriously, f**k most music review sites and self-proclaimed music critics (especially hipster ones).

I still think that Sputnik is reliable to some extent. Bad albums get bad ratings, and vice versa.
You'll see Florida Georgia Line, X Ambassadors, Hollywood Undead, Luke Bryan and Imagine Dragons all have albums with bad average ratings, simply because the lyrics suck and/or the music is boring or generic. And on the other hand, you see CHVRCHES, The Wonder Years, Sufjan Stevens, Courtney Barnett, Kacey Musgraves, Kendrick Lamar, Chris Stapleton, Sturgill Simpson, etc. all have good average scores because of good production and lyrical content. Not to mention, bands that are prone to not get good reviews from critics (e.g. The Offspring, Shinedown, etc.) do occasionally have good reviews too.
My main concerns with Sputnik is that some of the reviews are biased, and it favors rock more than the other genres.

NME tends to favor the same music that i like...not that i follow them blindly...i'm sure some of you favor Pitchfork, Sputnik, Rolling Stone, Spin, Paste, Stereogum, or even NPR or Entertainment Weekly...we all can find a community that tends to think similarly to the way we do
as far as Turn Blue...i liked it...of course i like most anything that Danger Mouse is involved in...but i still think El Camino & Brothers were their two best albums...Turn Blue was a very different sound (especially "Fever" which took awhile to grow on me)

Brothers is their best album, followed by Attack & Release.

The only reason why Turn Blue was 'crap' was because El Camino and Brothers were great. They decided to change their sound; that's why it wasn't that well received.
