My mind has been exploding trying to figure out what period this tracking week will cover, what the chart date will be, grappling with the usual Billboard typos, etc. I almost wanna give up.

Does that include streaming or no? Is streaming still July 6 through 12 this week or is it also June 29 through July 9?

I forget. Will the Hot 100 still come out in Wednesdays? It's only the album chart day that changed?

All charts will be released the same, as the sales tracking period will be Friday-Thursday, for albums and tracks. Streaming will also be Fri-Thurs. All airplay, as far as I know- spins-based and audience-based, alike- will be on a Monday-Sunday tracking period now.

The public has short term memory for most celebrity blunders True. Plus she mostly recanted. But her licking the donuts even tho totally wrong was kinda funny. I just hate when celebrities / singers say they hate America while they live here and make millions off of us. It makes no sense and just means they haven't thought it through well. But she's a youngen and I'm old.

Gary - do you still have a subscription to the magazine? I presume the release date will remain the same... meaning the charts will be all the more out-dated by the time of publication... One more nail in the coffin.

So no the release date will not be the same Well, we've been getting the articles on Weds and the charts online on Thurs, but the issue/release dates have always been Sats (7/4, 7/11, 7/18, 7/25.) So the dates we get the article + charts online don't tell us much about the issue/publication/release dates.

This was the original quote from Billboard that I remember seeing and understood, so I need to just stick to this, print it out and frame it on my wall or something. Thanks!!

I'm thinking 7/18 is it for See You Again. I ran the numbers using our current estimated formula, and it was indeed close - somewhere around just a 1000-point difference. With Cheerleader continuing to gain, that should be able to move atop unless either SYA can stop the bleeding for a few days, or Cheerleader slows down. I can't say I'm optimistic that SYA will eke it out yet again.
ETA:
SYA - 81000 sales, 152M airplay, 14.8M streams. 6750 + 15200 + 16444 = 38394
Cheerleader - 170000 sales, 94M airplay, 12.6M streams. 14167 + 9400 + 14000 = 37567
So, a little over 800 points. I can see the sales gap shrinking some, but Cheerleader will continue to gain on airplay, and probably also streams. So unless something crazy happens*, I'm thinking we'll be looking at a new #1 for this chart.
*Feel free to speculate on if Watch Me were to pass them both and take it instead; that came up to just over 35000 points. But considering that's gone the wrong way in sales this week, I don't think it'll pass by just yet - not unless it sees a crazy stream surge.

I think SYA's update is wrong. The gain is the same amount as its lost yesterday. I'll ask the one who posted this. What do you think, shane?

Does the new tracking period mean we will get the usual Monday chart highlights on Saturday since everything is getting pushed back two days?

Does the new tracking period mean we will get the usual Monday chart highlights on Saturday since everything is getting pushed back two days? It shouldn't. The radio tracking week is staying the same (Monday-Sunday), so the highlights article will presumably be coming on the same day. The other possibility is that they eliminate it, since we'll now get the full radio charts the very next day.

Wait, the radio tracking before this shift was Wednesday to Tuesday. The radio songs component of the Hot 100 (total "all-format" audience impressions) was Wednesday to Tuesday. The airplay charts (Pop Songs, Adult Pop Songs, Rhythmic Songs, etc) were Monday-Sunday.
