Yeah this is a great example of radio carrying a song because of who the artist is, not really about the song.

I hope it makes ten weeks (lol) on the Hot 100, and falls even faster on radio so there will be a break without her before single #2

Kind of early in her career to be having a lead single under-perform like this but we'll see what the rest of the album's material is like.

Congrats, you successfully called a flop. But your overreaction is a bit uncalled for.

if this continues to bleed spins at the same rate or higher it will have lost between 40-50% of it's total spin count in one week's time :o
has this ever happened before for a song that peaked outside the top ten? i don't follow the charts super closely as i use to so maybe it has but this seems like an accelerated decline.

-602. Lmao.
Like I said, she's going to be totally fine. So I just find the idea of a label's major pop star not having a song on the radio charts during Christmas right when an album's about to launch pretty funny from a corporate perspective.
It's just amusing.

Now this can have the record for the most drop in spins. Kesha's "Die Young" didn't deserve that. Ariana can have the record.

Ariana can have the record. ...and just like that, it's probably going to be the latest to fail at that. No seriously, it seems like every single large-dropping song gets thought of to claim the new record...and every single time the song subsequently fails to do that because it starts putting the brakes on like a day or two after someone mentions it. The jinx is real.

Never Again and Judas, lol. Holy cr@p! I was just going to add WIU to the discussion! AG will be fine - this single was a critical and commercial disappointment, but the previous era proved that if given the right material, radio, streaming and buyers will go for it. I hated her first era - terrible songs - but the five singles from the ME era (including BB) were great pieces of pop ear candy - and that's a huge compliment because a lot artists try and fail.

"Wind It Up" didnt do well on Pop Radio and shouldnt have been the lead single but I don't recall it losing 40-50% of its spin count in one week like "Focus" did. Afterwards, Gwen followed it up with one of the biggest hits of her career so like I said let's see how the rest of Arianna's album is.

I'm sure they've had plenty of time to retool or find another quality song or two. If find it hard to believe that she could go from ME hot to complete dud. Not going to happen.

She also has a huge fanbase, which should help (seeing how high this got without much seeming to like it)
