Frankly I'm ready for this to be done. It sliding into #1 at any future point now would just feel a little too manipulated IMO.

Hell, even what Selena is doing this week feels like the manipulation of the country charts, at least to me. I really don't want those practice to come to pop radio, as well as the long chart runs, and I also hope this can finish soon.

I kind of agree actually, and it's worth noting that in terms of chart ages, her song is literally half as old as this one is.

OMG. I feel like it was LAST summer when I heard this and now, it's gearing up to be a summer smash LOL. I feel like it has incredible staying power. They should release Pay My Rent next.

"Toothbrush" has already been confirmed as the second single and it goes for adds on April 19th, but I assume they'll push it back.

I think "Pay My Rent" is a little too similar to this so I don't think it would work as well.

Has only just become popular here, now (#9 on iTunes). Heard it on the radio a few minutes ago. For once I actually prefer the cursing in a song lol. "Let's lose our minds and go crazy crazy" sounds meh compared to the original.

This is in a 50/50 battle for #1 at Pop. Well, it wouldn't be the first time Zayn takes something away from Joe. Poor guy! Still, I never thought this song would go that far!

I think this will get a day or two at #1 before "PILLOWTALK" passes.

Yeah it most likely won't be an official #1. Song is still huge though, and I didn't expect it to get this far when it looked like it was peaking weeks ago.

Yeah, it's not going to be an official #1 - at this rate, "PILLOWTALK" will be nearly 100 spins ahead of this at this point next week. (ZAYN would be #1, DNCE #2 , Mike #3, G-Eazy/Bebe #4- Sunday night would probably be the same but with Lukas at #4 and G-Eazy/Bebe at #5)

With this song, we're really seeing the difference between how labels can work country radio versus pop radio.
Since at least last week, Republic was touting how this was going to hit #1 after a record number of weeks on the chart. Republic Playbook, as of right now, still claims this is "heading #1 this week."
So far this week, it is actually down in spins while Zayn's Pillowtalk is up in spins. So, unless some shenanigans take place this weekend, it ain't going #1.
Worse, Republic's own "I Took A Pill In Ibiza" is now ahead of this one on the building chart.

Republic was actually crowing about this going #1? #MESS Considering this lost over 200 spins in todays update how the hell are they gonna spin it now? Did radio just go against Republic by pulling the plug or is this a really horrible case of bad timing on the label's part?

Where was Republic saying this was going to hit num.1? Industry/radio advertisements?

Where was Republic saying this was going to hit num.1? Industry/radio advertisements? Republic Playbook has it listed right now: "Heading #1 This Week." Last week (or maybe the week before), they talked about how it was heading to #1 after a "record 28 weeks" or something to that effect.

It could have been #1 if it was summertime... bad timing.
