and their still could've been a 2 for 1, Demi Lovato, Ed Sheeran would fit good, or they could've been a 2 for 1 in the 11-20 area, they did it with 5SOS 3 weeks ago, so why couldn't have they done it this week? Literarily anybody would fit in, Fall Out Boy, Adam Levine, Wiz, 1D more specifically would've fit in good.

Does anybody know when AT40 gets updated on the www.iheart.com/live/american-top-40-4802/ website, which plays AT40 constantly every day?  It is currently playing the August 29 show.  When will the September 5 show start to be played?

Not much movement here, except for 1D's nine-notch leap. "Uptown Funk" becomes the first song in a year and a half to hit 40 weeks, and starts out the countdown with a 40-40-40 "jackpot". Nicely symbolic, as Mark Ronson's 40th birthday is this week--September 4th, to be exact. (Incidentally, I hit the same mark in two weeks.) If "Can't Feel My Face" stays on top next week, then there would be a near jackpot at the other end of the countdown, with all 1's (1-1-11). Nine songs, including six of the top 10, stay in the same position as last week, and 10 others only move up or down one notch.

This chart doesn't really impress me.

• Uptown Funk suddenly manages to stay at #40. I really hope it leaves next week.
• Can Omen be a huge sleeper hit like Latch? Only time will tell.
• It's quite surprising how Adam Lambert's "Ghost Town" is still gaining airplay, and has yet to make the Top 25. Perhaps another sleeper?
• It's quite funny that huge songs on the Urban chart have only made it as high as the middle of the countdown. Trap Queen hit #20 a while ago, and so did Watch Me, while Post To Be went to #21.
• There's doubt that Nathan Sykes might make it to the countdown as Kiss Me Quick is losing airplay.
• Should've Been Us hit #16, where Tori Kelly's previous hit Nobody Love peaked. I feel Tori Kelly is underrated by most music fanatics.
• Hopefully, 5 Seconds Of Summer makes it out of the teens for the first time.
• We might see a lot of debuts in two or three weeks soon. Wildest Dreams, Levels, What Do You Mean are in certainty to make it in.

The iHeart station usually switches over to the new show on Fridays. The 9/5 show should begin airing tomorrow morning.

Hmmm, I thought Lean On would have moved up to at least #2 this week. Oh, well, it'll still get #1 either next week or the week after.

Yeah usually it's up by 10-11AM EST Friday that's when I usually check it.

I'm surprised Uptown Funk is at #40...it should actually be hanging out around #30 instead. It's ranked at #32 on the MediaBase Survey today.

The iHeart stream seems to be screwy, this week.

I caught the top 5 while waiting for the next cycle to start. First, they were playing THIS week's show. Then they played the top 2 segment from LAST week (not that it made a huge difference...the top 2 are the same).

All went well and good for the next airing (so I hoped). I heard 40-21 of THIS week's show. Then, the just started playing the first top 20 segment from LAST week's show. Still waiting to see if they switch back to the correct show. Quite annoying... >:(

UPDATE: Well, they're back on THIS week's show with hour 3, segment 2 (#17). Hopefully, it sticks...

The rest of the airing just went off without a hitch. Including the correct top 2 segment (at least we know THAT problem isn't repeating).

And, no. To address your last concern, it wouldn't be a problem with the show itself. These type of screw-ups tend to be on a station-by-station basis. If listened to elsewhere, you, more likely than not, you won't need to worry.

I remember 20ish weeks ago when I had a similar problem, they played songs 40-34 with nothing wrong but then they just randomly skipped to the top 2 songs in the first hour. this went on for about 2 and a half hours until but then it was top 6. The top 2 was "Sugar" and "Love Me Like You Do" and that's why I can't stand Sugar anymore (: . idk if it was a problem on other radio stations but on mine it was.

I managed to record it to tape from the iheart site. It's listenable, but with diminished volume
and some background noise. Nice to not have to edit out commercials! Thanks to Arnold for giving me the procedure.
We may never see a 40-40-40 jackpot again. Why does Ed Sheeran pronounce sixth as "sikth"?

I think the reason for the diminished volume is because your computer speaker volume was too low (I assume that you had the wire plugged into the computer's speaker headphone jack).  Turn up the computer's speaker volume and see if you get better volume on your tape.

I get the best recordings using the free software Audacity. I found that plugging headphones into the computer during recording provides the best audio for some reason.
