My cousin was at a Luke Bryan/Randy Houser/Dustin Lynch show last night (I actually would have gone but I didn't know how it would go being the first week of school and all) and said that Dustin announced this would be his next single right before he played it so idk if this is enough confirmation but.......
Artist: Dustin Lynch Single: "Mind Reader" Label: Broken Bow Add Date: 9/28 Writers: Rhett Akins, Ben Hayslip Source: Announced by him at a concert

Kind of predictable, but I can't blame him for choosing this next. It's a safe song that should build his momentum with minimal risk.

I hope this is true. Can't wait to hear this on the radio.

Love the song and it'd be a great choice for radio. I would be totally fine with this getting released.

Ok. I like this one. It's awesome. Way better than HOAN.

This was a no-brainer, easily the most radio-friendly track left on the album. This should have been single #2 instead of "Hell Of A Night", but I'll admit that HOAN exceeded my expectations.
This is his best single since "Cowboys and Angels" and I'm hoping for another #1 simply because I love his voice and he's only shown a few flashes of his full potential.

This...imagine how much better this album era would be even at this point had this been chosen and they could be going with something a bit slower going into the winter months, even if it probably won't peak til late 2016 at the rate his singles are moving...

I agree that anything else would have been better than the mediocre "Hell Of A Night" as the second single but I don't think "Mind Reader" or any other song from the album would have climbed much faster. Broken Bow Music Group is notorious for sticking with singles as long as possible and they did so again with "Hell Of A Night" and its lackluster start. Now with it hitting #1, I don't exactly think they're saying "what if we chose another song as the second single?"
I'm expecting an early to mid October add date for "Mind Reader."

I have to wonder if this will be the last single from the album, I mean good lord, HOAN took almost a year to peak, and even though this song is radio friendly and is coming off of 2 #1's, I just don't see Dustin as having any momentum. But, nearly every male reaches the top now so I'm sure we'll be resisting this thread when it reaches the top next August

It remains to be seen just how memorable "Hell Of A Night" will be, with its recurrent play; sometimes the most pedestrian songs are the most memorable as the years go by. I don't particularly think it will be that great either but it did have a +40 week journey to #1, so who knows. I would love for nothing more than "Mind Reader" to overshadow it since I really don't like "Hell Of A Night."

This is a great song, and like zjames said, this is his best single release since, "Cowboys And Angels." "Mind Reader" is not as 'out there' as "Hell Of A Night" was. This is still country and can satisfy current country radio standards. I really hope this hits #1...when it peaks. It would be nice to see Dustin continue this ride to success and have three back to back #1 hits. As much as I disliked, "Where It's At" and "Hell of A Night," he is really talented and I feel like if the radio climate wasn't so demanding of pop leaning material, he would release albums full of songs like "Cowboys and Angels." I hope a fourth single follows, "Mind Reader" so we can have a good stack of hits from this album.

Good choice for the third single but I was hoping for "She Wants A Cowboy".

Still getting used to the song, but that steel is heavenly to the ears.
I'm going to go ahead and say that this one actually climbs faster than "Hell of a Night". I think they were anticipating that one having a faster climb than it did.
To me, unfortunately, all three singles from this era have just had no distinct or memorable musical qualities. They are all catchy but they just have a very generic musical sound. Maybe it's just me. This one is definitely my favorite of the three, so I'm hoping this is a step in the right direction for an artist that I feel has great vocal abilities and a great stage presence.

Good choice for the third single but I was hoping for "She Wants A Cowboy". I love, "She Wants A Cowboy." Unfortunately, I don't think radio would ever touch it - because it is more of something that would fit in the late 90s through early 2000s. Well, it's similar to "Cowboys And Angels" in pace and overall style, too. Perhaps it would have worked then. I wish radio would get back to playing songs like "She Wants A Cowboy," but I think until the tide officially changes back to a more traditional sound, we have no chance of hearing SWAC at radio. :(

This is perfect for radio and there's actual steel guitar used (or at least a pedal effect that sounds like a steel guitar). It's likely the last single but I could see "Halo" being a final single if they go 4 deep (and if this does well, why not as it's not like albums sell 400k anymore and they have plenty of hits off these albums).

This song is great. I liked the first two singles from the album, too, but this one is definitely the most "interesting" of the three, easily. I love his vocals and the production and melody are strong, and the backup vocals at the end of the chorus are an enjoyable addition. I hope this one climbs a bit faster than "Hell of a Night," but has the same end outcome. :)

I'm definitely curious to see how many adds this gets. Obviously Thomas Rhett will have the most but Dustin should finish pretty well today I'm gonna play it safe and say 25 adds.
As for what I think about this song. I'm so conflicted on the one hand Dustin's voice shines all the way thru and the production is actually very country but those lyrics are a little dismissal. I only want this to hit the top cause Dustin seems to be one of the most down to earth people in the business. I'm glad Dustin though is having a really successful sophomore era.

There was an ad in last week's Country Aircheck Weekly that stated that more than 30 stations were already confirmed (for today), so your guess is definitely too low :) And anyway, Dustin is already up to 36 adds. I don't think the full panel is in yet, but that's how many he had at last update. Lauren's "Next Boyfriend" had 37, and Thomas' "Die A Happy Man" was at 47 adds.

The final HDD updates come in about now (between 3 and 4). Dustin has 40 adds today.

How is that relative to some of his previous? Do you mean his previous adds on impact day? "Mind Reader" - 40 "Hell Of A Night" - 28 "Where It's At" - 60 (aided significantly by iHeartRadio's "On The Verge") "Wild In Your Smile" - 35 "She Cranks My Tractor" - 35 "Cowboys And Angels" - 29 Note: This is impact day adds, not total stations by impact day.

This song's okay I guess -- certainly better than the ultra-lame "Hell Of A Night." It has a nice melody and interesting title but something about Dustin's material just bores me to death. He's got a great voice but everything he has put out has either been boring or just plain bad.
This one is climbing faster than "Hell Of A Night." At the 30 day mark of its entrance into the MB top 50, it has roughly 1000 spins and nearly 5.0 million in total audience (#37 on the rolling chart) while "Hell Of A Night" had 760 spins and 3.4 million in audience (#44 on the rolling chart) at the 30 day mark.
