I like Lindsay but I think she needs a bit more "individual" spark to let her stand out. I can see this going the same way as with Kelleigh Bannen.

If it is true that Lindsay Ell will have an EP coming out soon within the next few months (which By The Way I am super excited for), I wonder, will the label still be promoting this song even though "By The Way" has gained basically next to nothing the past couple of weeks, (Yesterday's update was completely erased off with today's update) or will Stoney Creek send out another song in the upcoming weeks. I think realistically they should send out a new song soon, cause I don't think "By The Way" will be making much more progress than it already has. So at the latest have "By The Way" try and sneak in a Top 40 peak, easier said than done or just give up by the end of March. Then send a new song out there right afterwards.

It's still uncertain exactly what will happen with Lindsay. I heard her say an EP will be coming out later in the year too, but lots of artists say that stuff -- it's what fans and radio like to hear. I would think if the EP gets released in the next few months it'll be in promotion of a new single since I agree "By The Way" won't be doing much more.

Yeah, if the EP is coming out in the next few months, they will have to send a new song out, since "By The Way" is on Week 15 on Billboard and song after song has passed this (Cam, Lauren Alaina which she herself is struggling , and Jordan Rager. Brothers Osborne and Billy Currington probably will on Billboard tomorrow as well). Now since Lindsay Ell has released 3 songs now ("Tripping On Us", "Shut Me Up", and "By The Way") and she has been around since early 2014, she is bound to have a lot of material to release as it's been a little over 2 years since she released her first song. I really do hope that if an EP is going to happen it'll get radio interested in playing whatever the followup song is to this.
"By The Way" this week gained 13 spins (so basically nothing), and about 139K in audience. So Lindsay Ell is basically floating around now. I do want to see this song fall, only so they can get a new song out ASAP, since Lindsay should have another song ready.

Stoney Creek is still pushing this one as they put a duel ad (along with "Song Number 7" by Randy Houser) in Aircheck's email this afternoon for "By The Way". I'm aware that Broken Bow Music Group is notorious for long lasting chart runs but this one is really peculiar. I mean, it would be one thing if this song was gradually and I mean ever so gradually moving upwards...but "By The Way" isn't, lol, at all. In fact, Lindsay's song has actually lost nearly 300k in total Mediabase audience over the past seven weeks and the song has almost broken even in spins over that those seven weeks as well (roughly 610 total spins). Simply put, continuing this push this one is wasting everyone's time. I really like "By The Way" but it's just not going to do anything at this point.

They should just cut their losses with this song. Then get a new song out ASAP for Lindsay Ell because of two reasons. 1). "By The Way" as sabre14 has basically done nothing now. 2). Lindsay has to have new material out since she has been recording for like two years. I also don't think anyone else on Stoney Creek besides Randy Houser and Parmalee since Thompson Square won't have anything new for a while, so I don't see any harm in releasing a new song from Lindsay Ell. So far this week, Lindsay Ell's losses so far this week look to have her probably getting kicked out of the Top 50 on BB, so yeah it's really in Stoney Creek to just send out a new song for Lindsay.

I think they should keep pushing this honestly because I really feel like if this one doesn't hit then I don't think she ever will. She's already been at it for a few years now and this'll be strike #3 for her with no album in sight and not a single Top 40 hit... plus this is absolutely her best single and most smash-worthy release yet, so if this one can't do it, then she'll probably be that much closer to winding up in the new female artist graveyard. I can't say I'm totally enamored with her output thus far because this is the first single of hers to move the needle for me at all, but it's done so in a big way because I absolutely love the heck out of this one, so I'm really rooting for it to hang in there. Things aren't looking too good but I'm trying to be optimistic because this honestly has all the makings of a breakthrough hit imo for her, and I just doubt at this point that anything else is going to do what this one couldn't if it does fail.

While I do understand the "new artist female graveyard" and this being strike #3. It's quite clear, that radio is honestly ready to let this one go and I don't think they wanna lift this any higher up than it has already gotten. Besides, this is Broken Bow, they still haven't given up on Kristy Lee Cook or James Wesley, so far so Lindsay should still get another chance once this song is done. Besides it's on Week 17, I can't recall any time when a song that spent below the Top 40 that long still managed to be a breakout hit.

I understand all of that, but I don't think radio is going to be any more receptive to whatever she may have waiting in the wings and this one just feels like it was meant to be her breakout hit. I don't know what her future will look like going forward if this one does indeed fail, but I'm more inclined to think this is her best and potentially last legitimate shot at getting a Top 40 hit. Whether they stick with her for awhile or not, the more singles she has miss the Top 40 is only going to make it harder for her to ever get there with subsequent releases imo.

I thought this would've been a hit as well but numbers don't lie. Radio stations are not adding it and haven't since the new year and the ones who are spinning it haven't converted it, so since this went for adds in October and has yet to crack the 2.8 million in audience mark on Mediabase, I'll be the one who says this one's all but finished.
If they're attempting to keep this alive for momentum into Lindsay's next single then I guess that's good news that we could get one more single from her but it gets harder to get a hit the more singles you put out that fail (James Wesley and Kristy Lee Cook being prime Broken Bow Music Group examples). It's a tough situation but "By The Way" won't be doing anything more -- that I'm 99% sure of.

"By The Way" got pushed out of the Rolling Top 50 MB country chart yesterday. I can now confidently say that "By The Way" won't make anymore progress. I'm definitely curious to see what the future holds for Lindsay Ell. This will be her third failed attempt at a hit, I'm especially surprised that this didn't become a hit given the first week adds. I do think we will get one more song from Lindsay, hopefully that song whatever it might be becomes a hit.
If, there is one thing that definitely helps Lindsay Ell is the amount of hype Bobby Bones likes to give her, so she might still break out she will just need a new song for that.
