Surprised this doesn't have a thread! This was a double A side with "Without You" in the US and was promoted to Urban radio. It peaked at #1 on the Radio & Records Urban airplay chart for 1 week, #7 on Billboard's R&B/Hip Hop Singles Chart, & #3 on the Hot 100.
I actually prefer this to "Without You". Surprised she never shot a video for this!

The album version was decent, but JDs radio mixes were really good. I almost forgot this existed. "Without You" overshadowed it

I really like this one but something about the chorus irks me for whatever reason. I feel like I'm being scolded.

Love this, alongside Breathe Again and Take A Bow, Babyface at his finest!

This and Open Arms are the only 90s Mariah singles that I don't care for. The JD remix of this is decent though.

The radio mix is cheesy. The original is fine, a great vocal.

It peaked at #1 on the Radio & Records Urban airplay chart for 1 week This doesn't make sense. It only peaked in the 20s on Billboard's R&B Airplay; how would that be so different from R&R? Well, it was an urban-only single so it isn't too surprising. Anyway, this is solid but obviously pretty typical of Babyface songs of that time. It's a nice little R&B song in her catalog.

I LOVE this song. It's funny listening to it now and thinking this was for Urban stations only. It just sounds like a pop midtempo ballad with light RnB undertones in my opinion. It's also from my favorite Mariah cd ever "Musicbox". I find this whole cd to be flawless. I don't care if some of the ballads are supposedly "over done or cheesy" like some have said about them. I can feel every lyric she sings in all of them.

I always forget that this was a single, it's so forgotten in her singles catalog. It's a solid track, but I never really revisit it.

It's enjoyable but it doesn't stand out all that much listening to the album, IMO. There's a mix/extended version which when I heard for the first time my jaw dropped; her vocals are PHENOMENAL.

There's somewhat a lite country undretone to the production on the album version.

I know This song wasn't a huge hit, though sales of the single allowed it to peak at #7 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart, It only reached #26 in R&B airplay. My question is, if any of you remember hearing it on the radio, which version got the most airplay? I'm assuming the JD remix did, since that was promoted as the single version, but I remember hearing it just a few times and it was the album version. Mainly curious because I'm fleshing out her first Greatest Hits album on my itunes (Making it more of a singles collection and adding NFY, Breakdown, & CTTA (As well as international singles TGTBAW, IIO, Open Arms, The Roof,DYKWYGT & AAO). I'd like to include the version that was the "hit" version so to speak

Yeah, I never got into this. Harmless and nicely sung but the song as a whole is going through some specific set of motions that I wish it hadn't.

Yeah, this one: It does highlight the vocal more. I love the "my baby" at the start of the 2nd verse; so sensual.

One of my faves from Music Box. I always felt that it sounded very Boyz II Men-ish.
