The Fall Out Boy and Ed Sheeran extras could have been used as well for that purpose, though, like Taylor, this would have been the second straight week of Ed getting that treatment since last week's 2 for 1 was a duet between them.

Why would they do that? I'm not up to date with the song's chart position but rarely do they play breakouts that failed to chart, the last time they did that I believe was Overload by Life Of Dillon :/.


Anyways finally extars for G.D.F.R. Time Of Our Lives and Elastic Heart, sure took em long enough. Will they even play "Pretty Girls" I mean it peaked at 30 and it fell off 2-3 months ago.

• Well, this is the second week in a row with four debuts, and they're all by female musicians. Those including Jess Glynne, who was previously known for singing Clean Bandit's #6 hit, Rather Be, last year.
• Maroon 5's Feelings is played as a breakout song, but I doubt it's gonna get far. In fact, it might be their worst performing hit on AT40, beside If I Never See Your Face Again. Plus, there's also Give A Little More, but it never actually made the countdown.
• Flo Rida's previous hit is played as an extra while I Don't Like It, I Love It exits the countdown.
• First time I've heard Elastic Heart on AT40 without The Weeknd and Diplo.
• It looks like Black Magic is done. It least it did better than Wings did by just a little. I really hope Little Mix make themselves more renowned with a bigger hit soon.
• Also going down is Ghost Town. It's now lasted longer than If I Had You (hit #15 in 2010, lasted 15 weeks). If it stayed for just a few more weeks until Halloween, that would actually be fittingly nice.
• Watch Me also leaves. I've had enough of that song. I had my homecoming dance last week, and the DJ played it twice, along with Trap Queen, Post To Be, and Drake's new one. I was there ever since the beginning, and I noticed a trend that they start off with the big mainstream hits, like the guy did with Want To Want Me, Chains and Shut Up + Dance.
• Speaking of Hotline Bling, I hope I don't get annoyed with it as much as those other urban hits (Post To Be didn't really bother me at first). At least there's no vulgarity in the lyrics.
• Both Of Us only hit #24 in 2012 and lasted for five weeks. Despite those statistics, it's still a great song. It should've gone higher than that. Nice to hear it again in the 2 For 1.
• I'm expecting Want To Want Me to leave next week. With that, it'll be a three-way tie for oldest record between Shut Up + Dance, Hey Mama and Worth It.
• She's Kinda Hot should be in certainty to leave, too. 5SOS once again manages to hit the teens. Hopefully, their next single will be bigger and break that trend. Now that I think of it, they might be following in Justin Bieber's path. Bieber took three years to finally hit the Top 10 with Boyfriend. At this rate, 5SOS will make the Top 10 in 2017. Just a guess, though.
• In other Bieber news, he might be in contention for #1. Hopefully, he can get there for his very first time since he made his debut on the survey six years ago.
• And may I point out a correction; it's Tarrus Riley singing Powerful, not Taurus Riley.

Firestone is basically done. It started falling down the Mediabase charts just as AT40 finally started playing it. WFLZ had been airing the song regularly until about two weeks ago.

*Sigh* For the THIRD week in a row, the iHeart station has given us, yet, ANOTHER screw-up. This week, they started playing the first segment of hour 4 ("Wildest Dreams") before the last segment of hour 3 ("Stitches") had finished. i.e. Both segments were overlapping and playing, concurrently, for a couple of minutes. Whoever's been programming the station, lately, has been asleep at the wheel. Yeah, I know, mistakes happen. It's just annoying that they've been happening with such regularity.

This is why I try to listen on different radio stations online or my phone. The iHeart station seems to always mess up. The optional extras are skipped also on there.
