"You Look Like I Need A Drink" is the third most added song on MB this week with 39 adds on impact day.
Valory is hyping 61 first week stations for the single -- remember, it got debuted on iHeartMedia stations the weekend it was sent to iTunes. The ad also looks pretty similar to the ad they had for "Point At You."

Is it just me, or is he toning his voice down more? He doesn't sound as full-force as he usually does (e.g. "I've learned some mistakes, but that's what it takes TO MAKE A MAN OUT OF A KID") and comes off as more toned down. Good song though.

Is it too early to tell where this might end up? I am hoping for a Number 1 for Justin. Sales look slow out of the gate.

Yes, its too early to tell. iHeartMedia stations jumped aboard this song right out of the gate and it was able to get 60 total stations on impact day. There's currently zero stations who are giving this even medium rotation, so we're looking at a pretty slow climb for Justin, which makes sense since Valory decided on giving this an add date in November, hoping this can pick up steam in the new year.

This song was featured in Billboard tonight; here are some pieces of the article:

This song got off to a very strong start, but I'm surprised at how slowly it's been moving since then. I know he lost quite a bit of momentum after "Lettin' The Night Roll", but I still thought this one would be doing better than it is. It debuted at #41 thanks to a little 'mini' roll-out from iHeartMedia stations, and here we are, 10 weeks later, and it's only at #40. In retrospect, BMLG's release of "Home Sweet Home" was definitely not in Justin's best interest, and after that they went back to Off The Beaten Path to release "This Kind Of Town", which didn't really make any sense considering that "Home Sweet Home" killed all of Justin's momentum.
Still, with all of that said, I think this will turn out to be a hit for Justin, even if it spends 30-35 weeks on the chart. I haven't really cared for any of his material, so this is easily one of my favorite singles from him, probably behind only "This Kind Of Town" (I'm so sad that that one wasn't a hit). Justin sounds really good here, and I think that both the hook and the lyrics are pretty clever.

"You Look Like I Need A Drink" is finally hitting its stride, and a big reason why is that Westwood One (W1MC) added the song this week. Both W1 stations (W1MC/W1HC) have accounted for 1.7 of this song's 2.2 million in audience gains since Sunday (1/24). "You Look Like I Need A Drink" has also cracked the top 400 of the iTunes all-genre chart.
I'm fully expecting this one to be top 10 single in the end, perhaps even a MB #1.

I noticed that if you listen to this song with good speakers or earbuds, Justin's vocals are very soft and keep getting drowned out by the instruments.
Anyone else notice this? Between that and his overall mellower tone, I wonder if he's having some kind of vocal issues.

A friend of mine said they heard on Taste of Country Nights, that Justin Moore's album will be released in September.

I love "YLLINAD" I would love to see this go number 1 on BB and MB. I saw that you said this was hitting its stride a while ago. Does this song still have a shot at top 5 or even #1?

I'd have a hard time seeing this one go all the way to #1 based on how it's done so far. It's definitely not been moving the needle much.

Wow no posts in over 2 months! Might as well give an update on this song since the album will be out in about a month.
Justin Moore should wind up at #13 on MB tomorrow as despite Luke Bryan going recurrent, Kelsea Ballerini "Peter Pan" made the pass today (Justin's awful update probably played a large role in that).
One thing that has always amazed me is the sales (or lack of) as "You Look Like I Need A Drink" sits at #225 all genre as of today on Kworb. That is not good for a song that is trying to get Top 10 conversions soon, especially since radio has some better options to get into the Top 10 soon, whether it be hot selling singles deep into the album cycle ("Peter Pan" and "Make You Miss Me") or leadoff singles for albums yet to be released ("American Country Love Song" and "Nights On Fire").
Justin Moore will probably end up on BB at #13 as Kelsea Ballerini will probably pass Justin and restrict Justin to a +1 this week.

I'm surprised that the sales have been so low, because all of Justin's high-charting singles have been big sellers (this song isn't exactly high-charting yet, and it's been a very slow climb, but it does appear it'll go top 10 before all is said and done). But I guess that just goes to show how much momentum he lost after "Lettin' The Night Roll" hit #1 in late June 2014.
"Small Town USA", "Backwoods", "Bait A Hook", "Til My Last Day", "Point At You", and "Lettin' The Night Roll" are all certified Gold, and "If Heaven Wasn't So Far Away" is Platinum. That leaves "Back That Thing Up" (#38 peak, his very first single); "How I Got To Be This Way" (#17 peak, but only his 4th overall single); "Home Sweet Home" (#30 peak, and a cover song); and "This Kind Of Town" (#44 peak, released after he had no momentum) as his only singles to not be certified by the RIAA, but with each of these 4, it's pretty obvious why they didn't sell: they peaked low on the charts and in general they just weren't very big hits.
Out of his 7 songs that are certified Gold or Platinum, 4 of them peaked at #1 on Billboard, and the others ("Backwoods", "Bait A Hook", and "Point At You") peaked at #6, #17, and #2, respectively.

I'm surprised this hasn't been selling better. I actually think this is among his better singles so I've certainly enjoyed it on the radio... but yeah, this should be selling more than it is, especially with it doing pretty well at radio (I don't follow the charts as religiously as some, but it seems to have been pretty smooth sailing for this once it hit the Top 20 or so). I still have a hard time seeing this one go all the way to #1 or so, but I wouldn't mind seeing it sneak into the Top 10. I'm kinda hoping that's about all it does though and they move on to something else after the album drops...

I am amazed that "Bait A Hook" has gone gold especially since it didn't even make the Top 15. Must've resonated with fans while radio was too hesitant.
It also surprises me how Justin lost almost all of that momentum from "Letting The Night Roll". I honestly believe they should have never released "Home Sweet Home" as despite being a decent seller, I don't think it's ever a smart move to release a song from a tribute/movie album as a single, especially one from a B-lister at the time. It made sense when Keith Urban released "For You" as Keith Urban was a mainstay staple on radio and it was bound to go Top 10 as all Keith Urban songs do and served as a filler in between albums to serve fans. Where as Justin Moore could've released another song off his album (it was just about a year old when "Home Sweet Home" was released) instead, and ulimatley torpedoed all the momentum he gained.

I always forget how much I like this song until I hear it again. It's so damn catchy.
As for his past songs, I've liked most of his past singles. "Bait A Hook" is a big guilty pleasure for me, "If Heaven Wasn't So Far Away" is still fantastic, and his hits have all been very country-sounding. I hope he can regain some of his momentum.

Kinda Don't Care is straight up country. Lots of steel. Hoping this album is more Outlaws Like Me than Off The Beaten Path, and I love what I hear so far (even though it's only two songs)

Hell yeah that steel on "Kinda Don't Care"!!!
Justin's most *unique* marketable quality is his grit and "I don't care" attitude. I really don't sense that too much from "You Look Like I Need a Drink" so I'm really hoping single #2 has more of that grit and makes a bigger impact on radio.
