OMG All I Ask is going to be a HUGE moment though. Maybe she is just trying to sell the album and isn't concerned with the amount of times radio spins her singles. Which is something that Pulse worships much more than the general public I think.

This is the perfect opportunity for "When We Were Young." An outstanding performance of this on music's biggest night would have been iconic! :'( I don't even care about it not performing well in digital sales/airplay, I was just really looking forward to a Grammys performance of this.
But instead... "All I Ask"? The song that's already been whored out to death? At this point, if it's not the third single, they may as well not release it less it perform like "Out of the Woods." If they weren't going to do "When We Were Young" could we at least get "Water Under the Bridge" or "Love in the Dark" or "Sweetest Devotion"?

Wow. I'm shocked honestly.
They waiting and finally put WWWY on Spotify, made an official ad for radio, and single cover, just to perform All I Ask in the music industry's biggest night?
Don't get me wrong, All I Ask is impeccable and will likely cause the album to skyrocket in sales, but this makes absolutely no sense. Why not perform All I Ask at Ellen instead?
Ugh.

Well, this could still do well and go top 10 on the Hot 100 with a video release.
Either way, the album is still chugging along and could see a significant boost and reclaim the #1 spot this week.

Did they honestly switch it because Bruno Mars was the presenter?

THE DAMN EMOTION she just poured all over that performance. The chills! And that's WHY she didn't sing "When We Were Young"!

that damn off key guitar was distracting but power to Adele for powering through it... she looked pissed off about it which I can't blame her.. and she had a couple cracks at the end but the EMOTION and power is amazing!

not performing ur current single on such a big platform like the grammys is bad business. They don't care about nor need to have #1 singles on Pop charts. They know what they're doing.

Bad business when you're closing in on 10 million in sales in less than 4 months.

That fact that the album has been selling consistently doesn't exclude the fact that, strategy-wise, it wasn't a good choice not to perform a single that is supposed to receive promotion. Even if she's allowed to not care for singles sales, it's still bad business, if we're talking strictly business.

She sang great to me, but that guitar totally ruined it. It makes it unwatchable.

Like most everyone in this thread, I too am not thrilled that "All I Ask" was performed instead of "When We Were Young." WWWY had a great shot at becoming a massive hit after tonight, that shot was totally blown. The guitar offset the performance for AIA, and Adele looked visibly irritated, something which Billboard noted was mutual among members of her team. Her vocals, minus the two crack towards the end, were amazing. And, please...two cracks and media starts to complain? Even on a night like tonight, where TOO MANY errors occurred (outside of Adele's performance), the media has chosen to gripe on two notes from one artist who has given the entire industry an astronomical boost? Billboard, People, and one other source...which I am having trouble remembering all called out her vocals. WTH??!! Regardless, Adele...you will never read this, I am sure - but bravo. See you in August. You kicked ass tonight.

Didn't stop it from cracking the Top 20 on iTunes once again, and rising

I love her lol I wish she had performed WWWY, but the performance was great so I don't really care. She doesn't need hit singles, so it's not that big a deal, although it was a wasted opportunity. Watch her end up performing this next year though since she already performed AIA

She's right. Shit happens. She's going to KILL the Brits though and certainly next year when she performs. At least she'll be deserving of album of the year.

I'm pretty sure if you get nominated for AOTY at the Grammy's you are deserving. You may not like it, you may think someone should have received it, and maybe someone is, in fact, MORE deserving, but to repeatedly say Taylor is not deserving of it, makes it hard to take serious any other posts you make. Edit: Sorry, thought this was the Grammy's threat. Adele will no doubt win and deserve AOTY next year. :)

Taylor made a cute pop album and the committee got it wrong. It isn't Taylor's fault though.
