Do R&B acts really have many venues to try out these days? 106 & Park is no more, and I have never understood why these acts haven't been promoted on late night shows outside of Jimmy Kimmel.
Also, these acts need the support of mainstream urban and top 40 radio to even matter. So sad.

R. Kelly's numbers are not very good All these numbers suck except for Cam. She's new. Does R Kelly have a hit single?

Was this past week the the typical lowest sales week between Thanksgiving and Christmas? I know there's a black friday boost, a dip, and then a rise once Christmas is closer in album sales each year. It'll be interesting to see how many people watch the Adele special. With her doing 660k this week, I think HITS earlier projection of 800k sounds like a good floor or starting point for this week with projections trending upward as the week goes on.

Does R Kelly have a hit single? On Urban AC, yes. His Urban single is kinda moving slowly though

Adele's NBC special is this week, too, which'll "help" (not that she needs it).

That's rather floptastic for R. Kelly. His previous three albums (all released this decade) average 118k first week.
I guess the bad publicity finally caught up to him.

So none of these new entries will reach top 15? Pretty sad.

With her Week 3 numbers trending higher than expected, I think 1M could be 50/50 for this coming week.

850-950k is my guess for this week for Adele, with a chance of hitting 1 million.

Kells hasn't had a Top 20 R&B single since 2009 so it's no real surprise that awareness is probably quite low. His last album, which came out December '13 did get some attention from DWUW controversy/AMA performance - so he was on radar.

Is her special later in the week? If so, I'm not sure about hitting 1 million.

Yeah, not really that surprising, and his dwindling sales likely have little to do with "bad publicity". He had one of the biggest hits of his career with "Ignition," which was at the height of all the statutory rape accusations. He's almost 25 years into his career, pushing 50, several years since his last real Urban hit, has only had a moderate Urban AC hit thus far with this album, and the album is receiving mixed to negative reviews.

I don't think R. Kelly's numbers have anything to do with bad publicity. He pretty much skipped all of that. He just doesn't make much good music these days. TP.3 Reloaded was really his last SOLID album. But for someone who has been around for decades, doing 40k isn't anything to cry about.

Going from 130k to 30k in two years is definitely something to cry about. This album will lose money.

If Adele sells 814k or more this week, she'll clear 6 million in 4 weeks.

"HELLO," ADELE SPECIAL EARNS BLOCKBUSTER RATINGS Adele’s Live in New York City NBC special, which aired last night (12/14), drew spectacular ratings, becoming the top-rated primetime music special since The Eagles’ Farewell Tour in 2005 and the network’s most-watched concert special since Cher’s Farewell Tour in 2003. The hour-long concert, taped last month at Radio City Music Hall (see our own Lenny Beer’s thoughts on the live performance here), drew 11.2 million viewers and a 3.0 demo rating. The show also gave NBC its best ratings in the Monday 10pm timeslot since The Blacklist Season 2 premiere and the bow of thriller series Blindspot. The special had a terrific lead-in as well: The Voice final showdown. Both shows sent viewers scurrying to iTunes; Voice contestants currently clog the top of the singles chart, while Adele’s current blockbuster 25 is the #1 album and prior monster 21 is #6. Her “Hello” has been temporarily dislodged from the top spot on the singles side and sits for the moment at #4. Voice contestant Jordan Smith is currently #1. Look for Adele to rack up another 800k or so this week and 1m leading into Christmas, likely closing out the year at around 7.5m. hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=298912

Really?! I had no idea! Just because someone loves Adele does not mean they are going to watch a concert special at 10pm on a Monday. The DVR and later viewing numbers will probably be high and help her get a boost through out the week, but I'm not expecting her to break any massive records with this special. Of course, if I am wrong, everyone can quote this post again and call me out. I'll be waiting! I will have the special on my DVR as I will be watching the highly anticipated Fargo season finale that also starts at 10pm 3 weeks in a row, this poster always brings negativity toward Adele. Firts week no way over 1,5 million, 2nd weeks no way hitting 1 million, 3rd week no way the cpncert special breaking record..... and Adele keeps slaying.

TOP 15: SHUT UP AND BUY MORE ADELE Adele spends a fourth, but certainly not last, week at #1 as she sees a boost at least partly from last night’s NBC special. While we’ve yet to see physical numbers, moderate digital increases suggest her biggest gains will be at brick and mortar. In the week that just ended, 25 had a remarkably high 85% in physical sales. As we head into the final full week before Christmas this Friday, 25 will likely top or be near 6m in album sales. With several months remaining in Sony’s fiscal year, which ends in March, 25 looks very likely, by then, to best 10m in album sales and possibly even challenge the current 11.3m of its predecessor, 2011’s 21. Here’s how it looks at midweek.
Adele (XL/Columbia) 770-820k Sales, 800-850k SPS Pentatonix Christmas (RCA) 115-125k, 125-135k Justin Bieber (Def Jam) 92-97k, 157-162k Coldplay (Parlophone) 48-53k, 58-63k Chris Stapleton (Mercury Nashville) 47-52k, 54-59k One Direction (SYCO/Columbia) 47-52k, 63-68k Taylor Swift (Big Machine) 38-42k, 45-49k Adele 21 (XL/Columbia) 37-41k, 44-48k * August Alsina (Def Jam) 33-38k, 38-43k Pentatonix (RCA) 33-37k, 36-40k Michael Buble (Reprise) 30-34k, 45-49k Now (Now/Legacy) 30-34k, 30-34k *Cam (Arista Nashville) 30-34k, 37-41k *R. Kelly (RCA) 30-34k, 35-39k Carrie Underwood (19/Arista) 27-30k, 30-33k
* Debut
I expect Adele's projection to increase during the week. Ouch for Coldplay, there's no buzz for them at all right now.

There are no words to describe what we're seeing with Adele. Her numbers will probably keep projecting higher, too.
That's a nice increase for Cam, by the way. First projections had her in the 24-28k, 28-32k (SPS) range. That should put her at #2 on Top Country Albums, behind Chris Stapleton.
