The stability in Bieber! 1 million in pure sales in 5 weeks is nothing to scoff at. at 21 outselling debuts this coming week.

Amazing numbers for Adele, as usual. Thrilled to see Cam adjusted up, and happy to see Underwood stabilize in that 27k-30k range during the holidays. She should cross 400k this week if those predictions hold.

Adele is a monster, even 21 is selling lmfao. This is a phenomenon that cant be explained with just her music. It's crazy!

Chris Stapleton has done amazingly after his breakthrough. I figured after a couple weeks he'd trail off back to a few thousand a week, but he's consistently moving 40-50k now, and with no real radio support. Kudos.

If '21' makes the top 10 again that will be week 83.

LOL at 21 selling 35k+ this week. It will easily be among this year's top 50 sellers.
If 25 hits the low end of that projection, its total will be 5.956 million in 4 weeks, making it the biggest calendar-year sales figure since Usher sold 7.958 million copies of Confessions in 2004. While that is already spectacular, it should be noted that Confessions had 9+ months of sales, whereas 25 will have a total of 6 weeks.
And yeah, if Adele wasn't happening, we'd all be in awe of Bieber. He's doing very big numbers, supported by some huge singles.

Really great sales once again for Adele. I can see the album doing 900k+ quite easily now with all the buzz around her.
"When We Were Young" has just been sent to Top 40 radio and is almost top 20 on HAC (rising very fast). So that should help the album out too.
Crazy to see 21 selling so much. Perhaps it'll do 50k+ next week? Hopefully 19 is also selling well, not long until it hits 3 million in sales!

Let's get to 10 million and then start thinking about 11 million, then 12 million, etc...

Pentatonix are still doing incredible. I don't really find them all that interesting. Seems a bit gimmicky to me, but it still cool to see things like this on the charts.
I don't think Coldplay are too worried -- they are mainly a touring band now who still draws giant numbers. Plus, they have the upcoming Super Bowl, so I'm guessing they will do some more promo after the holidays in the weeks leading up to that. New single, new video, plus a boost from performing will at least help the album pass Gold status. I haven't heard the disc yet, but I've heard people say it has a few songs that sound like they could be big. All it will take is one right song to help the album get to Platinum status.
Bieber has been very stable as well. The Voice Finale promo spot really is helping.

This is the thing that still gets me about the general record buying public. "25", the sequel to the monster album "21" sells 6 million in FOUR weeks, yet the predecessor to "21", "19", has sold less than HALF that in 8 years. Why? If people have been craving Adele THAT much after "21", why not seek out the predecessor to that album? That is most certainly what I do every single time I fall in love with an album. I find it odd that this is not happening. This says something about the audience of Adele. A lot of this audience are people who don't usually buy music, which is also why she can soar higher than anyone else, even beating the all-conquering "1989" album in just four weeks. Adele is just in a league entirely of her own, leaving her nearest rival (Taylor Swift) completely in the dust.

^if anything Adele's albums have had an unusually big impact on boosting sales of their predecessors. I can't think of any artist where their older albums were boosted nearly as much by new releases.

Finally got a chance to listen to Cam's album. I liked it much more than her EP. She's much stronger doing Burning House/Village type songs than the country/pop they seemed to be steering her towards. Her problem is that she's so generic though, and her voice isn't distinct at all. If you didnt know who she was, you could think it was Carrie Underwood in places.

Yeah 19 has sold really well post-21. While it may not be doing anything close to 21 or 25 numbers, it has still sold more than most albums released in the past 5 years. There also isn't a big hit on the album, so people who view the album won't necessarily recognize anything.

www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/6813626/adele-25-nearing-6-million-us-sales?utm_source=twitterAdele's '25' Nearing 6 Million in U.S. Sales, Set for Fourth Week at No. 1 on Billboard 20012/17/2015 by Keith Caulfield Adele’s 25 should easily spend a fourth week atop the Billboard 200 albums chart, according to industry forecasters. The diva’s blockbuster set may sell upwards of 750,000 copies in the week ending Dec. 17 -- its fourth week on sale. In its first three weeks of release, it sold 5.19 million. (Thus, in its first month on sale, 25's pure album sales may total 5.9 million.) The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The top 10 of the new Jan. 2, 2016-dated Billboard 200 chart is scheduled to be revealed on Billboard’s Web sites on Sunday, Dec. 20. Adele currently rules many of Billboard’s charts, including the Billboard Hot 100 (25’s lead single “Hello” is No. 1 for a seventh week) and the Billboard Artist 100. In addition, “Hello” is tops on Radio Songs, Streaming Songs, Billboard + Twitter Top Tracks, Pop Songs, Adult Contemporary, Adult Pop Songs, Dance Club Songs and Dance/Mix Show Airplay. Among the albums aiming for high debuts on the new Jan. 2-dated Billboard 200 are August Alsina’s This Thing Called Life (with perhaps 40,000 in total units), R. Kelly’s The Buffet ( 35,000 or so) and Cam’s Untamed ( 30,000).

How long until 21 hits 12 million units? A while. It's at about 11.3 million and I would assume its sales resurgence will calm down after the holidays. But who knows, this is Adele we're talking about.

I think this will depend on how promotion cotinues throughout 2016 . I entirely think 21 would be 13million+ right now if it they promoted it up to its potential. I think it's all up to how long Adele will want to continue to do work for the album. If set fire to the rain and rumour has it got music videos and/or performances and turning tables was released as single , 21 would have a few more million sales , her albums always respond incredibly well to promo. 25s longevity throughout 2016 will depend on the latter half of the singles campaign

I know Adele is defying trends, but let's keep in mind how much general sales decline after the holidays. Right, let's wait for it to hit 10 million first before we say anything. Yes, it's been monstrous so far, but still, albums from already established artists tend to be more front-loaded, and we are living in an era where sales are less than a third of what they were in their peak year of 2000. Those hoping for this to beat the all-time SoundScan record could be in for a disappointment, though if it does manage to beat 21 that would be a one in all-time phenomena music has never seen before. It would be like Michael Jackson outdoing Thriller.
