Drunken chorus completely ruins this song, sorry.
I like Drake's verse though.

I like this. I like the Dancehall meets Synth Pop sound. I know the vocal inflections are really jarring at first, but it's not like she hasn't done a song in that manner before. The "drunk" feel of it is probably intentional. This was far more instant for me than the previous few singles we have heard from this era during the last year. I did like "American Oxygen" and to a lesser extent both "Bitch Better Have My Money" and "Four Five Seconds", but none of them really felt like lead singles. I see this going at least top 10.

Uptown Funk was much tougher competition. True, UF was an absolute juggernaut but if we're looking at numbers, it still didn't go down that much and this has a 2nd version charting inside the Top40 as well so it's selling even more

I can't stand it when artists deliberately sound like sh*t to make their music more "real", "raw" and "emotional." No, you just sound like sh*t. She sounded like garbage on "45S," "BBHMM" and now this.
I've listened to this several times today and it deflates more with every listen. Drake is the best part. Such a letdown.

Uptown Funk 185k, pushing that to 0,47 = 394 Stressed Out 115k, pushing that to 0,27 = 426 It's doing better, but it's not that far off. "receipts" What's those numbers? Ok, it's still doing better anyway but I'll wait a week, or at least a few more days, before I can compare and say for sure whether it's doing better or not. It's certainly showing signs right now of being capable of doing better; I think it has more WW potential than BBHMM for sure.

I don't say this a lot, but I actually hate this song. It's way too repetitive and I kinda even get annoyed by how she says "work" and "dirt" over and over. I want back fun poppy Rihanna. I'm not trying to be harsh, but I can't really see this growing on me. ????

This is a good album track but not single material at all As a lamb I'm relieved that Rihanna is not threatening Mariah's record anytime soon :kii:

Meh. It's somewhat catchy but feels lazy. She could've had a potential top 5 debut on the Hot 100 though if they released friday with the video.

I've read a couple comments talking about how the drunken vocals are intentional...Whether they're intentional or not, how the fuck does that make it sounds better on my ears knowing she meant to sound that horrible? Shit sounds like shit whether it's supposed to sound like shit or it's accidental shit. This is legit the worst lead single I have ever heard from an artist of her caliber.

Remixes of this will go down really well in the club. It'll be bigger than "American Oxygen"/"Bitch Better Have My Money" and go top 10. Hopefully it'll have a really good video. Can see it being huge on Urban/Rhythmic radio.

People saying this is horrible can calm down. It's fine. Would have been a decent filler track on either of her last two albums.

I was reading around the internet, and it reminded me of how an old sage once told me long ago that music that when new, different music starts to sound "awful" and "terrible" to you, it's a sign you're getting old.

Well... This is weird. I'm not a fan of the track, but I like it and I think it's a grower. I didn't enjoy it on first listen, but it gets better (in a strange sort of way) after a couple of listens. Also, I agree with most of you that this is a Rhythmic and Urban smash waiting to happen and let's see how the Top 40/mainstream will react with this, although I'm not expecting too much.
Anyway, I guess it's not necessary to say this, but it's my least favourite Rihanna/Drake collaboration because "Take Care" remains the best of the trio.

I can't find this enjoyable until Drake's verse. The mumbling by Rihanna doesn't do it for me. If I even like this song a bit, it will mostly be because Drake, sort of, saved this song.
I also kind of, but not much, like the how the chorus sounds. Maybe because Rihanna isn't mumbling and I can understand what she's saying.
Otherwise, this song is disappointing.

Thank you Lord Say Selena for granting us permission to calm ourselves. Your authority obviously warrants us several seats. Her last album was near perfect by her standards. Thank God this wasn't on it. I'm going to try to listen to this another five times and see if it clicks because I sort of love Rihanna.

Let's not forget BBHMM doing comparable to this on iTunes yet peaking at #15 or something even with a video boost. This is going to do nothing on pop, and I don't see it doing much worldwide either. Urban #1 is good too I guess.. Nothing on pop? Even though I said it would be 100% #1, it might not get that high but if you think this won't hit the top 10, you're insane

Good lord, is there no end to the onslaught of lazy, minimalist urban dirges we've had to endure from artists these last few years?

I guess I forget that people aren't allowed to dislike something and aren't allowed to have different opinions from other people

I'll be the first to say when Rihanna isn;t giving enough, but damn this is great. The so-called "laziness" is the character of the song!

Urban #1 is good too I guess.. Uhhh......it has the multi-format hourly deal. Doing "nothing" on Pop literally isn't possible.
