Does anybody have a copy of this book yet? I know it's a revamp of the old Pop Memories 1890-1954 book, but I was wondering what the overall thoughts were to the update. Just how well was the pre-1900 material handled in the book, and what kind of detail/synopsis do we get in the "50 Most Important Records, 1890-1899" section? I'm sure the chart positions have been dropped for the pre-1900 records, but do we get a list of songs with popular renditions attached to it (ala "Honor Roll of Hits") or is the main focusly solely the song? Was somewhat disappointed that they didn't add an annual Obviously, it would have easier for those who create playlists to look at an annual rather than skim through various artists' chart logs, but surely there's an improvement throughout the book. I'm also guessing that numerous references were eliminated for accuracy.

I'm probably waiting until my birthday to get this one, but it looks like everything is set up closely to his Top Pop Singles books. Also, does anyone know if there's any word on when an updated version of that will be out? It used to get updated every two or three years, but the last update came out in mid-2013 and usually there'd at least be word on a new copy by now.
