Focus dropped from 19. Is this the longest drop ever? or has there been even worse?

Meghan Trainor - Dear Future Husband dropped off last year from #18, I believe. Not as high as TKO and Sing, but that's the most recent huge drop off I can think of.

Damm @ those extras. I didn't really like Trap Queen but it's nice to hear something different and something that's not expected, same with Post To Be.

I believe that's the highest drop-off of the Seacrest era. And during the Casey Kasem years some fell right off from the top 10. I believe the all-time AT40 record is "Even the Nights Are Better" by Air Supply, which fell from #6 to #42 in September 1982. Guest host alert: Charlie Puth fills in two weeks from now (January 30-31). The last two guest hosts were DNCE and Shawn Mendes; interesting how in the last few months we've had three acts guest hosting the countdown with only one or two hits to their credit (three for Charlie if you give him "See You Again".)

My thoughts... - The fact that Cheerleader is still here makes me want to stab someone.
- Focus fell from #19. I shouldn't be surprised.
- It's about time JD got another single from Everything Is 4 to chart.
- Why are Trap Queen and Post To Be extras?! Perhaps I'll never get an answer.
- I hope Used To Love You at least makes it to the Top 20, because now it's beginning to fade away.
- I don't see Tinashe's Player going anywhere at all.
- Does anyone see Hide Away reaching the Top 10? I never thought it would get this far. Probably makes a good sleeper hit.
- Dear Future Husband makes a good Two For One choice.
- There's a good chance Selena will de-throne her ex-boyfriend at #1. I don't think that's ever happened before, right?
- Roses is actually doing better here than Selfie did. :o
- Next week's chart might be a little slow.
And in case anyone happens to be big AT40 fans, there's a wiki of mine that has nearly every single AT40 chart published, in case anyone is searching for them. I recently got the 2000-2001 charts done with a little help from jdelachjr2002, so I thought this would be a good chance to promote them. Here's the link: myat40.wikia.com/wiki/Charts.
This is also actually the first time I've seen this week's chart published on a Wednesday. I usually see them every Thursday morning.

I'm pretty sure from what's being shown by Mediabase, both "Player" and "Make Up" will not go far at all on AT40. Either both will continue to be played as extras and never chart and vanish, or they might chart, and then fall off after 1-2 weeks on. It's happened many times before to other songs.

It's dead on Mediabase. Kind of surprised to see it as the Buzz song. "Hands To Myself" was one of the options, this week. I thought that would be a lock for the win.

Andy Grammer, who subbed for Seacrest in August, also didn't have a lot of Pop hits (he had a few more Hot AC ones though). To date, Demi Lovato and Jason Derulo were the most recent sub hosts (both in July) to have a slew of Pop hits.

And furthermore, when DNCE hosted in late September they hadn't had any hits at all yet ("Cake By the Ocean" didn't debut until the first week of November.) Of course, that's kind of a special case since they probably wouldn't have guest hosted if not led by Joe Jonas, who has charted several times with his family group, but that show was guest hosted by all members of DNCE, not just Joe.

Why are Trap Queen and Post To Be extras?! Perhaps I'll never get an answer. They're still big recurrents but they're unlikely to be used as optionals since the same songs air on the Hot AC version.

After #25, Ryan did a little tribute to David Bowie and played a montage of several of his top 40 hits.

We actually have a bigger drop off this week on the Hot AC version of AT40 as Hozier's "Someone New" plunges off the chart all the way from #12! That's got to be a record drop off from that version of the chart.

While not as severe, Hozier also falls off Rick Dees hot AC chart from number 27.

While not as severe, Hozier also falls off Rick Dees hot AC chart from number 27. I guess that there is a bit of consistency between the two charts there. Both caught the big drop off of Hozier.

Hiope "sorry" stays for a third week next week. Get ugly debuts. I think it will hit top 10 don't think #1 though. Stressed out will be in top 10 next week. Like I'm gonna lose you won't get past 5 I don't think. All in all a good at40 this week
