*How do PATD have this big of a base in 2016? *Good to see Adele stabilize after the James Corden video. And I won't get over the sales for 21. *Good drop for Bowie *Good for Stapleton, coming out of SNL.
So after this week, we have 3 weeks and then Grammy boosts. Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, Alabama Shakes, Chris Stapleton and Adele should see the biggest boosts, assuming they all perform.

That's double what they sold with their last album, which was a (early) Q4 release, and I think also nearly the total of the album before that.

Super outstanding numbers for PATD! David Bowie's albums held up quite well, great to see. Also Adele's stability. I'm liking this week.

It's so weird to me seeing the resurgence of all of these Fueled by Ramon alumni (Paramore/Fall Out Boy/PATD!) coming back with hit albums 10+ years after I started listening to them.

Wow, I had no idea they did so poorly after Fever. This might end up being their second-best selling album.
Also, people are seriously still buying Kidz Bop albums in 2016? Ew...

Great to see Adele stabilising, hopefully we'll see her break 200k+ again in a few weeks time. 21 still selling strongly! Bowie's album shouldn't have much trouble going gold this year, perhaps even hit the million mark - I expect there'll be some sort of tribute at the grammys. Amazing sales for PATD!

Not that it isn't great but I have a feeling the strong sales for 25 this week are due to the Carpool Karaoke video and in the weeks between now and The Grammys, she may continue to slide (though not too dramatically). 200k is possible after the awards though.

Good for them, but what's the deal with the strong sales this week? It looks like they will have their best debut yet, which is crazy for 2016...and in January no less.

Happy for Brendon/Panic. He's the only member left from the original lineup. I love his voice and the new album is good. Well deserved.

Says a lot about what some random promo for Adele can do for her sales. Not many artists see this kind of boost/plateauing from a viral video.

Wow, great for Panic considering they haven't really had a song crossover since their debut. I always preferred them to FOB so nice to see them do well. Crazy that this is their highest opening. I would have thought Pretty Odd would have done bigger numbers than it did, but I guess not.

I told everyone how big they were gonna be. When I saw them live this summer at an event, I was shocked to see how many fans they still had. Tons of young girls were in the crowd. Roughly 40-50% of the 8,000+ audience were reported to be there just for Panic and were of that demo. This was an event that had other multiple acts performing like Weezer for one.
Great numbers for Bowie as well. Looks like he will probably scan Gold. Adele doing fantastic as well.

HITS is also reporting that they are fully expecting Drake, Kanye West, and Rihanna to all release their albums right around the GRAMMYs. Apparently, it is a new strategy labels are doing... kinda how we had the Q4 A-List launch, but now with all the craziness of the music industry, releasing the week of GRAMMYs will be the new strategy. hope it pans out!
Sadly, it is possible Adele will never be #1 again on the charts with Coldplay at the Superbowl, PATD this week, and the releases from Kanye, Rihanna, and Drake. Not to mention any Grammy tributes/surprises, and whoever AOTY is... Chris STapleton could have another massive week.

Imagine if all three released at the same day. Would that be a terrible idea I wonder? It could be a three birds one stone thing as far as people making purchases, though maybe not for people who don't like buying more than one album at a time. I don't like buying just one at a time personally so I'd probably be one to buy all three if I went for one of them.
Also, are fun on Fueled By Ramen. They should make their comeback now, just because.

The former seems like an absolute lock for Adele, while the latter seems almost 100% as well - unless Charlie Puth puts up some monster figure.

Also, are fun on Fueled By Ramen. They should make their comeback now, just because. They're apart of the label as well. Hell let Gym Class Heroes toss out another album. They had a couple of hits off their last album, but the sales were terrible With twenty one pilots kicking ass they should do their own version of Warped Tour with just FBR and alumni acts.

Yeah, she has a chance, but it is game over if Rihanna or Drake release their albums. I feel like we might get something big this weekend, but I've been thinking that for months. Who knows

hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=299305Wednesday, January 20, 2016 MUSIC’S BIGGEST RELEASE WEEK?Word has it that in addition to Kanye West—who has tweeted a 2/11 release date for his forthcoming Def Jam set, Swish—we will see long-awaited new sets from YMCMB/Republic’s Drake and Roc Nation’s Rihanna around Grammy time as well. When will the latter two superstars deliver to get maximum Grammy bang? Can they do so without each diluting the other’s impact? As you may have read here, Riri appears in a new CBS spot touting both the Grammys and the Super Bowl. In any event, having these three superstar releases in the marketplace at once, amid the sky-high profile of Music’s Biggest Night, is undeniably good for the biz. Riri’s 2012 set, Unapologetic, bowed at #1 on the HITS Album Sales Chart with 240k; it’s sold 1.2m+ RTD. Drake’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late—regarded as a “mixtape” rather than an official album—moved just under 500k after its surprise drop just before Valentine’s Day 2015, and its tally to date is just under 1.2m. Yeezus, Kanye’s challenging mid-2013 set, hit with 328k and is up to 724k RTD.

That Rihanna album took so long to be released, FourFiveSeconds was so long ago
Impressive for Panic! At The Disco

Yeezus got almost half of its sales in one week, I expect the new one doing the same.
Feb 19 is my guess for Rihanna.

Stapleton will scan a million for sure. I hope they release more singles from the album. "Parachute" would even crossover with the hype he has imo.

To think, prior to November, Chris Stapleton was nowhere to be found. Time to get the Eagles certified at 30 times platinum.

This album will be much more popular than Yeezus How do you assume that? Because reception already seems a lot higher. People have been raving about the potential tracks that might be on it, and they are a lot more radio friendly. Critics loved Yeezus, but it wasn't a sales darling. This album should return him to his peak in terms of sales. The radio singles will help the album continue to sell, and the long gap between albums also helped get people more excited again. It will be a much bigger even than Yeezus.
