It's the same thing that happened last year- people who usually follow the pop charts look at a small bullet on the Alt chart and think the song is done- it might be done, or it could keep going for another few months or more, you can't tell yet It's barely been on the chart; for 6 weeks. let's have a little faith and patience.

I have been following all charts more than you know. I get how the Alternative Chart works, but this as a slow riser wouldn't make much as it is a debut single from an act that is pretty much at "break it big" or fade away. Again, this is as forgettable as whatever the Foster The People song was that jumped early, stalled a few weeks, then disappeared, and I am not kidding you, I can hear the chorus but I can't remember the name. As far as Molecules, yeah, that did a bit better than I though, but I'd be shocked if thats on rotation for more than 100 times a week these days if that says anything. I just personally think Good Grief doesn't have the "hit" factor and is merely getting curiosity spins. I do like "Fake It" much better as well.

I actually agree with that- I just figured I've made too many negative posts about this song, so I didn't want people to get irritated - Callout is low as well, at least on RTM.com BTW "Watching through our fingers"? Still don't understand what that's supposed to mean

I had no idea callout was poor for GG, but I totally believe it. It's borderline just a bizarre song, like it sounds like it should be nothing but an album filler of a RomCom soundtrack or something. Look I like Bastille, loved their last album, it was something unique and had legs on almost every single. This? It's confusing and a sign if this is the first single, I assume "Fake It" is really the only thing they are holding in their so called "deck of cards".
I thought it was "Wash it through our fingers?"
I need to look at these callout scores, now THAT interests me.

All I'm gonna add; is that the new single; "Fake It" isn't all that. Probably my least liked Bastille song yet. No edge ,nor charm from the songs on their last album. Sounds like an Imagine Dragon's song., but with exceptional vocals. "Good Grief" stomps all over "Fake It"

Still don't understand what that's supposed to mean "Watching through my fingers" means what it says I guess. It's like putting your hands over your face, but lacing your fingers out so you can still see. Kind of like when someone is scared to see something, but still lowkey wants to see it. Like this:

This song has grown on me over time. It started out a bit middling but has gotten better and catchier with more listens. Nice job Bastille!

Based on the promotion on AllAccess, low callout scores, but a bounce back bullet...it very well is likely Payola

It's a great song. Why is anyone surprised? Plus there is a bunch of crap in the alt top 10. Besides Blink, Cage, and RHCPs; of course. So it is bound to take its rightful position in top 5 sooner or later.

This isn't as good as Pompeii, but IMO it's better than anything else from the debut album. I've really enjoyed this since release.

'Fake It' is incredible. Definitely makes this look like a super inferior song.

"Fake It" will probably be the first Bastille song, That I won't chart. Samey sounding type of song with that boring lifeless chorus, that Imagine Dragons, or even those X-Ambassadors could pull off. Bastille style is way more edgier that that.

There's a new version of the video which removes the T&A and guns

There's a new version of the video which removes the T&A and guns I understand the reason for removing the T&A(Even though I hate censorship), but why the guns? Don't hip hop and rap videos feature African American bros with guns. Some of them even engaging in drug activity (thinking of that Horrendous "Coccaine" song that was in Poptart land recently. Couldn't care less what it's actually called; though.

Rofl at them censoring the guns. They weren't even consistant about it, there's that game show scene that still has em left in.

my best friend (& former partner) just shot himself a few days ago...reading the lyrics to this song "in one ear & out the other" "whats gonna be left of the world if you're not in it" "every minute, every hour, i miss you, i miss you, i miss you more"...it's as if he went through the same thing i'm going thru now

Oh wow... That's... Terrible. I'm so sorry to hear that... It gives the song such a deeper meaning than I realized before. If you need anyone on here to talk to, feel free to PM me. That's got to be so tough...

I expect it to tank and not even be charting by September, when a lot of new singles usually find their way on the chart in a rush. Well, it's September, and this song is still on the Alternative chart, not to mention it's bullet is over 100. 6 6 BASTILLE Good Grief 2452 2327 125 7.394
