With Leona's UK tour now over, she'll now be working on album #6. She's been sounding AMAZING recently - the best she's sounded in years if not ever! So excited to see what she can come up with now that her voice is back in top form and getting better and better.
She's already been in the studio last year working on it and what's noticeable is she's been working with more R&B/Hip-hop/Urban producers which I am all for. I need Leona to give me an amazing R&B album tbh. This album will be influenced by Def Jam who are keen to get Leona recording hits and great material.
She's worked with Life Of Dillon (Band), King Henry (Producer), Flashy (@yflashymusic on twitter - producer) and Emmi (Singer/Songwriter) amongst others. Quite nice to see her with some upcoming producers. Hopefully she'll work with some big producers as well. Really excited to see what Def Jam can do with Leona - I have a really good feeling about this album!

You know I totally had it in my head that she was in independent artist. Dej Jam better come through on this album. She worked on her last album by herself mostly and didn't sign to a label until she had almost finished it. She's with Def Jam for the US and Island everywhere else. Leona's been in vegas the last week - she performed "Bleeding Love" and "Thunder" at One Night One Drop (a charity event involving Cirque du Soleil). She also performed "Feel This Moment" last night at Pitbull's vegas concert, doing Christina's part. I wouldn't mind a collab with pitbull if it produced something like "Feel This Moment"/"Timber"/"On The Floor".

Did her last cd do anything Internationally???? Maybe because I check the board everyday but it seemed like her last cd was REALLY pushed for a bit.

Did her last cd do anything Internationally???? Maybe because I check the board everyday but it seemed like her last cd was REALLY pushed for a bit. The album was mainly pushed in the US/UK. She had a good amount of US promotion in the run up to the album, but the UK promotion on release week for the album was quite bad in comparison to her previous albums. Sadly none of the songs really did anything and the album did poorly. It's sold around 50k+ copies worldwide. There were some questionable moves (not pushing "Thunder" to US POP radio as they had done a big radio tour which inlcuded a lot of POP stations), but it seems that Leona and Def Jam want to move on and get in the studio and record a another album - this time round with Def Jam guiding Leona. Taking into account the previous album was mainly funded by Leona in terms of its making, it most probably still made Def Jam/Island money with her tour of the UK which sold quite well despite high ticket prices.

Some info from a fan close to Leona and her team:
Leona's back in the studio Tuesday
Leona impressed the booking agents in Las Vegas she had - so could be getting more bookings there in the future to be part of other shows which is great!

Looks like we won't get the album this year, but great to see she's going to be travelling and likely performing across the world this year (she confirmed she's performing in South Africa in August). Full interview here: hauteliving.com/2016/03/leona-lewis-talks-one-drop-Leona will also be on MTV's ridiculousness via her snapchat/a fan/instagram. Link - http://instagram.com/p/BDY8VRItIMQ Great to see Leona doing all sorts of bits and pieces to help raise her profile. She meet Alesso in vegas as well last week: And they're both label mates, so possible collab in the future? *_*

I really want a dance oriented album from Leona, tbh.
Collide is great imo, and I'm sure Disclosure, Kygo, etc could make great tracks with Leona. Pretty sure a trance/tropical/house track from Leona will be killer.

Leona will be in the studio later this week after a small break due to it being her birthday yesterday! She turned 31. She's going to be in London in May - likely recording/writing and spending time with family.

Leona's been in the studio and her Personal Assistant Sarah tweeted this: So exciting! Can't wait to find out who the collab is with. Leona's really wanted to work with Bruno Mars before so I would be so happy if it were him. *_* A fan knows who the collab is with and says that it could make Leona relevant once again.... *_* Leona will be headlining at MTV's Re:Define event tonight as well - ]LinkGreat to see Leona being involved in so many different charity events recently. She's always done a lot of charity work and it's great to see her continue to do so!

Leona's been in and out of the studio a bunch and uploaded a snippet of a song on her snapchat:
Only a short snippet but sounds like an uptempo dance song, perhaps the Alesso collab she's working on? So excited!
Leona will be performing tribute to Diane Warren at ceremony she's be recieving Humanitarian of the Year award in a couple days!

Leona covered Beyoncé's "I Was Here" and did a stunning job last night:
Some snippets of the performance, the second one where she sings "everything that I wanted and it was more than i thought it was be" was sublime. She was effortlessly phrasing D5s (the whole line was belted D5s I believe) and sustaining that phrasing all on one breath. Her voice is definitley back in tip top shape, no doubt.

"Thick Skin" is being used in the trailer for the Disney Movie Queen of Katwe:
Would be great if this boosted the song a bit and helped I Am shift some more units. The film is out in September.

Leona met with Christina Aguilera at the Rebels With a Cause gig: Leona will be performing "Fire Under My Feet" as a couple dances to it on Dancing With The Stars: Leona's boyfriend is one of the dancers on the show, so maybe that's one of the reasons she's performing. Great to see Leona rebuilding her US presence with the aid of Def Jam. So many amazing oppotunities have arisen over the last few months in the US for Leona. Would be great if "Fire Under My Feet" maybe took off with a performance of it on Dancing With The Stars. :)

Leona was interviewed at the event and says she's still in the beginning stages of the album:
To be expected as she said she was travelling a lot this year for inspiration to write and record the album. :)

Leona's performance on Dancing With The Stars:
Leona looked stunning and sounded good. :) Boosted "Fire Under My Feet" to #715 on US iTunes. Nice to see the song get a little boost.

She needs to focus on dance and Eurovision-type songs because she's not gonna happen again in the US but hey, the world is a large place so hopefully she finds success elsewhere.

^ I think Justin T's current hot track is very dance and Eurovision (where he just performed) so I don't think that's entirely true.

I know you are not comparing a song by Justin Timberlake, one of the US's most treasured (and successful) pop stars, with Leona Lewis, who will always be remembered for Bleeding Love, which was released...I dunno...almost 10 years ago?

I think she is incredibly talented but she dug her own grave in a sense by releasing tepid AC ballad after tepid AC ballad. I'm not denying her talent but the girl is a bit zzzzzzzzzz

I think I mentioned a while back that a friend of mine from London worked with her and said her biggest problem is personality/lack of X Factor. He did not deny her talent (lbr, her talent has never been the issue here), but says she is boring. Nice, but boring. In the pop game, that is the kiss of death essentially. God bless her for continuing to try, though. Even though I haven't listened to it in quite some time, I still think Echo was a great album.
