^^ I'm actually not even vocalizing my own opinion about what I care about -- I'm simply saying I can understand why some people might want to move on if this isn't going to do something more than it already has. I'm actually a fan of longevity and even look fondly on something like "Piece of me" that just sat there and lingered.
Interestingly enough I was glancing at some of the Rate the Music content on All Access, and "Make Me" seems to be received quite well, or at least better than I expected, with familiarity increasing and low burn rate, unless I have no idea how to read those, haha. Perhaps this could be a rarity and still pick back up on radio.

First I have no clue who Karen is. LoL Karen Kwak is Britney's A&R for Glory (and was also A&R for Mariah's TEOM). She was brought on after the PG situation. Unlike others, she actually has standards. She pointed out in an interview that PG wasn't original and she's also the reason why "Do You Wanna Come Over?" has a different placement on the physical and digital copy. She decided last minute that the album would flow better if the song was placed in the middle and not following "Invitation". She has the type of quality control and attention to detail that others on Britney's team seemingly don't have. Basically, she's a big reason why Glory is such an amazing album.

What's the status of the VMA remix that was being sent to radio?? I'm not sure if many stations are playing, but tbh I don't understand why they didn't release it to iTunes + streaming this week

Interestingly enough, Make Me is doing terrible in the call outs with Women 18-24, but great with Women 25-34.

Interestingly enough, Make Me is doing terrible in the call outs with Women 18-24, but great with Women 25-34. Funny you said that because they were just saying on one of the morning shows. Probably the today show that Britney's main audience is "Woman 25-40 and Gay men" lol. I thought it was cute they threw in the gay man. It's true though. lol. Maybe because her voice is so instantly known and popular with that audience that it's testing well there. After the Awards my friends 18 year old daughter and friend were saying that they thought Britney was kind of Eh. They both are over the lipsyncing and don't get it. They know she's an icon but they didn't think that deserved a pass to lip the whole thing. Because she was after Beyonce they weren't to impressed. Maybe others in that age bracket feel that way. They may not have the emotional connection to her as a lot of my generation does due to her being popular and her "problems" and comebacks. We route for her. I guess she has to work a bit harder to impressive new potential fans.

These kids are in the post-Ashlee Simpson on SNL generation. People lay off of backing tracks mostly nowadays, unless the use is particularly egregious, and artists/productions are better about hiding lip syncing (see: basically every performer at the VMAs), but Britney gets the most shit for it because she's an easy target for lazy, unfunny people who think mental illness and nervous breakdowns are hilarious joke fodder.
Aannnnyway, I was having a conversation with a bunch of people who like Glory, and we were talking about how Femme Fatale was the "Dr. Luke" Britney album, and Brenda Joan was the "will.i.am" Britney album, but Glory is all Britney. For FF and BJ, she's basically an American Hatsune Miku.

Can they please just stop this and release "Do You Wanna Come Over?". I'm insanely nervous about that track. I honestly don't think it's the surefire hit a lot are thinking, and I think it could outright flop. Early signs definitely are indicating it as the second single though, so I'm hoping for all the best. Anyways, I'm all for milking this dry since it's still one of the best single choices on the album. I really don't want it to just fizzle out after all this.

So many good tracks on the album, I hope they release one of the song like make me. Just luv me, slumber party, invitation, man on the moon and my personal favorite if I'm dancing and stick with this sound.

Big no to Invitation as a single, but the rest of those are basically my hopes as well for the singles.

I'm nervous too about Do You Wanna Come Over being the second single. It seems so hit or miss, no in between. But I'm not sure what else would be a second single, there are many many (omg so so many) great songs on the album but idk if going with another mid-tempo for second single is ideal.

It would be so stupid to pull the plug on the song that is #4 on iTunes. It could easily stabilize.

Radio can suck my ass. It's doing well on iTunes + Spotify. There's no reason not to play this. Fuckers.

Oh gee, radio! Promo has been solid. If only radio hadn't stopped supporting this yet --or if her team had released a good video (just tweak that damn original footage!)-- this could've been in the top 15

People keep mentioning the video, but what we've seen of the original one wasn't great? It seemed like a mess.

I would love to know what really happened with that video, it must be a whopper of a story considering they are pulling out all the stops to make this song a hit and the one thing most people want is the video.
I think they put out a paragraph statement. As a courtesy to your fans a little discussion would have been nice.
My personal opinion is daddy put a squash on it. Wouldn't be too cool for a 34 year old pop star to come out and say my father said no way and he is in charge.

So the original video has supposedly been making the rounds among traders and some higher quality screenshots have evidently been surfacing. The saga continues... Wouldn't be too cool for a 34 year old pop star to come out and say my father said no way and he is in charge. It likely wasn't him. On the set of the "Perfume" video, they had asked him to leave during a kissing scene and did so with no fuss. He seems understands his role as a part of Britney's team and doesn't look like the type to overstep his boundaries.

Well women 18-24 were between 0 and 6 when BOMT, OIDIA, and Britney were smashing, so they don't quite understand the slayage and iconic-ness.

Well women 18-24 were between 0 and 6 when BOMT, OIDIA, and Britney were smashing, so they don't quite understand the slayage and iconic-ness. She actually had a lot of fans who were currently in this age range. It actually surprised me how young some Britney fans really are. Think about some of her celebrity fans: Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, Charlie XCX, Chloe Grace Moretz, etc. They are all w/in that age range. A lot of them became fans during the Blackout and Circus eras. The problem was that they never got their Britney fill the way people who became fans in the earlier eras did. The main turning point was during the FF era, when Britney continued to further isolate herself in her little bubble. Her general apathy really started to turn off a lot of her fans, especially the younger ones, who didn't have as much of an attachment to her b/c of the era they had become fans. The BJ era had basically continued what the FF era started. That said, Glory is a good start to winning them back. The music is top notch, now they just need to make sure everything else they put out is on par with the quality of the music.

I think the big problem for Britney if we're talking age demos is the 13-18 one that is also a big factor for CHR. I think Britney has a decent fanbase in the 18-24 one thanks to the mass coverage of her breakdown period and the subsequent comebacks of the Circus and FF eras, but her last hit was 5 years ago. Older high schoolers would only really be familiar with the FF hits, which while big weren't exactly mega smashes compounded by Britney's reclusive nature that era as mentioned. And the younger high schoolers/middle schoolers aren't really familiar with her at all. So Britney is essentially a non-entity as a star to a lot of that demo unless/until she makes another big comeback.

I find their gen to be far less interested and familiar with music before their time than any other before. I'm sure it has to do with radio being far less relevant for their gen as they basically just stream whatever they want to listen to. Much easier to never be introduced to the hits of the past that way.

Evidently, "Love Me Down" has gotten some radio play. Perhaps they're testing it. I don't think they should drop "Make Me" yet but I'm glad they seem to be already planning ahead.
