There was talk that the video also had issues with sponsors, that Orange Theory and EOS did not like how the products were depicted in the original video

If they'd fulfilled their contractual obligations by featuring the product placements in the released video, could they not edit out the product placement from the original clip and release that? Or did the deal stipulate that the LaChappelle video could ONLY be released with the product placements included? Note: these questions are rhetorical, I don't expect anyone here actually has the answers. Anyone claiming inside intel re: above questions is probably lying.

LMD gives me Gwen vibes, doubt it would do much. If anything "Better", "Hard to forget ya", "Clumsy" should be next then PS please lol it's too catchy.

The VMA Eazy remix floating around the internet has gotta be a very well done fan edit. G's "Stella Maxwell" line is still in it, when he sang "Britney" at the VMAs. If they had her record vocals for it, I'd hope they had him redo his. For real - is this the version that was serviced?

I'm not sure what should be next anymore. Day of release I thought "Love Me Down". Now I'm not sure. I'm loving "Do You Wanna Come Over" and "Slumber Party". Am I the only one that thinks "Slumber Party" is single worthy??

I think any of the following could work, trading one set's slot for the other's too.
2. Love Me Down 3. Man on the Moon 4. Slumber Party --- 2. Do You Wanna Come Over 3. Just Luv Me 4. Hard to Forget Ya --- And literally in my dreams - 2. Liar 3. Invitation 4. Slumber Party 5. If I'm Dancing

Literally 90% of the album is single-worthy, it's just a matter of which ones they choose and what order they choose them in.
And to answer that question ^ , popcrush did a poll asking what the 2nd single should be and so far slumber party and love me down are neck and neck for #1

The radio listeners just don't like this song? I thought they tested the single before the release? Or I misunderstood things. I actually saw someone reliable on another forum said they were testing songs to be the second single and Just Luv Me was iHeartRadio heads' favorite, if they did it to the second single then it was very likely they did the same to test the first single right? It's just so frustrating that it seems like the music itself is not the main reason why people like or dislike a song nowadays. It always has something to do with your image, your performances, like what the GP think of you etc... I don't like many artists, but sometimes I think their new songs sound good so I just support it. Anyway, I'm team #SlumberParty as the second single.

I think Liar is by far the best choice for single #2. With a epic video this song could go places, it is classic Britney. On a different note, the beginning of Liar reminds me of the song Goldmine from Kimbra, but maybe it is just me. www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDgDkCdrqFg

Kind of random, but someone should make a mashup of this and Rihanna - Needed Me…
(as in the acapella of Make Me… over the beat from Needed Me)

Ugh, so pissed it seems radio is gonna let it just die even after the sales and streaming interest. What makes me really mad is they couldn't even be bothered to take it top 20 or top 15 at least. Not gonna lie, this absolutely doesn't bode well for the era. This was a great single choice, Britney was there to promote it, and interest was there and they just didn't care.
The way I see it three things are going to need to happen now for single #2 to have a chance at smashing:
1. Music video will need to be incredible and buzzed about 2. She's gonna have to promote the hell out of it again like she did for MM 3. Callout scores will need to be very strong or obviously radio has no f**ks to give with her anymore (shame on them)

I'd give another week, but if by Friday it's still stuck there I'd move on to another single.

I'm sure within a week it will start to freefall if it doesn't make a real turnaround in the next few days. Fingers still crossed though, not completely over yet.

Not gonna lie, this absolutely doesn't bode well for the era. This was a great single choice, Britney was there to promote it, and interest was there and they just didn't care. To be fair, they weren't the main reason holding this back. Radio likely feels sort of burned by Britney. They supported the jarring WB to the top 15. They even were initially pretty supportive of Perfume. The problem was that Britney barely did anything to support the songs themselves and it didn't resonate w/ the public as a result. They took a chance on her during BJ and it backfired on them. Then PG happened, which further exasperated the situation. It's understandable that they've been hesitant given how many chances they've given Britney. They had to get everything right w/ Make Me and they dropped the ball again. The music video had been released a really pivotal time for the song. It needed to be great, not only to attach an interesting visual to the song, but to keep the song afloat until promo began weeks later. That of course, didn't happen, and it was $2 million down the drain. The rest of the promo itself was not really memorable (though Britney was really energetic at the VMAs). I do agree that Britney and her team needs to bring it and not mess up. The question is, will they? They knew they had to bring it after the backlash of BJ but we got PG. They knew they had to bring after PG but they messed up the release of Make Me. Hopefully they don't mess up the next single.

They should just keep releasing the singles. I feel like that problem with Britney's first singles lately is that radio is playing it largely during the first week because of hype and afterwards it can't keep up with audience and spins it received during the first week. It's better when the song is building itself slowly and gradually (like TTWE and IWG).
And they should be careful with the 2nd single. It should be either "Do You Wanna Come Over?" or "Love Me Down", but the DYWCO seems to win this battle because Britney loves it.

Geez, what an utter disaster for her on every level that album turned out to be. Who knows who the hell likes it (will.i.am?) and it killed every bit of her comeback momentum. There's no sales interest, it got a week long spike from promo but it's plummetting again and when they take off the discount it'll fall out of the top 30. That's a flat out lie. It's still top 10 a full week after the VMA performance and with very little radio support. Hate to break it to you but that's not all the VMA performance still at play. People obviously are liking it well enough to keep sales up, but without airplay exposure it can only last so long.

Its radio run is surprisingly consistent given how inconsistent and up-and-down her sales and streaming are. I do think she has still has goodwill from radio. They just shouldn't expect a free pass anymore. They need to bring their A-game for single #2.
