Lead single from her eighth album Growing Pains Produced by Tricky Stewart and Jazze Pha and written by The-Dream. Peaked at #22 on the Hot 100. It was a 50/50 love to hate ratio here on Pulse when it was released and I used to be on the eh side until later on. This is my absolute feel good jam now every time it comes on. It's a BBQ staple for black folks now and we even have a popular line dance to it because we gotta show out.

I appreciate that this wound up being another big hit for her, but it has never connected with me personally. From all of her notable singles, this is probably at the bottom for me.
The album itself was great though. My favorite from her from the new millennium.

It was catchy when it was out. I couldn't escape it.
The remix with Swizz Beatz and Lil' Wayne was/is pretty hot. I prefer the no rap edit though.

The first time I heard this, I remember being, what kind of mess? But once I got past the repetition and fell into the vibe/humor/joy of the song, I just got it (I remember having the same exact reaction to "Golden" by Jill Scott). Such a jam.

I always liked this. Did it go to Pop? I feel like it should've done at least ok there. "Be Without You" had been huge like only 1-2 years before and she was on that Ludacris song even more recently.

It didn’t go to Pop. A lot of Mary’s singles were never sent to Pop radio. While I don’t think this would have been a big hit there, it was definitely a missed opportunity for some additional exposure. |

I HATED this the first time I heard it. That talking intro had me pressed. It instantly became one of my favorite singles from her. It's so positive and uplifting. And even though that sound from Tricky and The-Dream is totally dated now, this held up well, and still sounds fresh and fun.

Absolutely a feel good jam.
It still makes me model walk when it comes on and I’m walking down the street or start jamming out in the house.
At the time I didn’t understand why pop radio wasn’t playing this.
It was so catchy and upbeat. Maybe at the time I didn’t realize it wasn’t sent and promoted there.
I think it could have received some love there???
