I've always had a soft spot for the early-'00s. I was just a little kid at the time so I didn't get to experience everything first hand, but in retrospect it just seems like quite a time to be alive. Pop radio was far more diverse in terms of genres than it is now, as the #1 hits reflect. What do you guys think was the best CHR #1 of that year?
My rankings:
Lose Yourself In the End Without Me Hot in Herre A Thousand Miles Don't Let Me Get Me Dilemma How You Remind Me Hey Baby Ain't It Funny Underneath It All Complicated Sk8r Boi

I tried so hard, and got so far. But in the end, it doesn't even matter.

Whether 2002 was a "great time to be alive" is highly debatable (the first part of the year was bad for me personally), but the music was pretty good. None of these are really bad, and the best are great.

None of these are really bad, and the best are great. 9/11 was still really recent at this time too. I think it was kind of awful time to be alive. 2002 is the beginning of the transition to Urban hits dominating the airwaves which will last till 2006 which is interesting to look at.

I always had a soft spot for that year because I was young and a lot of awesome memories are of that time. I try not to think of 9/11.

I had a really hard time deciding between Don't Let Me Get Me and Underneath It All, but I went with the former. I liked all of these, except for Ain't It Funny which I don't remember.

Choosing between Eminem and Avril was such a Sophie's choice. "Lose Yourself" is probably the better song, but "Complicated" was the song that got me hyped on pop music.
Honorable mention to "A Thousand Miles" and its iconic piano line.

'Lose Yourself', but it was definitely not my favorite from this list.
