This is a great song. I always had a suspicion that Cole was a lot more than Luke Bryan Lite.

This is by no means bad, but I haven't really gotten into it yet either. Honestly much prefer "Flatliner" to this and would have rather seen that get released.

This is definitely one of his best singles ever. That being said, I agree with everyone who is commenting on his detached vocal interpretation. I think he sounds absolutely fabulous here, but somehow he still sounds emotionally disconnected. This is a song that I will enjoy hearing and will definitely cheer on for Cole, but I cannot help but think how much better it would have been behind the voice of Randy Houser, David Nail, Chris Young, etc.

I probably like this more than I should. The lyrics don't paint Cole in the best picture (IMO). Plus Cole isn't the best vocalist. But I'll be darned Cole gives arguably his best vocal performance I think I've ever heard. Cole sounds like he wanted a lot more with this girl and he sounds genuinley hurt.
I hope this can get Top 30 soon as it feels like it's just right on the edge of the Top 30.

It definitely seems like this won't become a very big hit for Cole. Seems like it will have a similar chart run to "Let Me See Ya Girl", a long steady chart run with mild sales. Kind of scratching my head about this choice when there were more immediate uptempos available to follow up a pretty serious ballad.

I listened to the album only once through and the only track that legitimately stood out as uptempo was "Flatliner". I was actually shocked at how slow/midtempo the rest of the songs were. I definitely think this one will be a difficult climber. Cole set himself up as the fun, good-time guy with his first singles. Maybe these past two have been a "shock" for listeners/radio. It doesn't help that he's a bit limited vocally. Also, his production is SO consistent through every song that it really doesn't lend to creating diversity in his catalog.

Well "Broken Down" is more midtempo akin to "Ain't Worth The Whiskey" and "Stars" is similar to "Chillin' It" style. Maybe uptempo wasn't the best choice of word, but I definitely think either of the mentioned songs would be doing better right now. There just doesn't seem to be a lit of buzz about this song.

I actually have to sales are really great for this since this is just now hitting the Top 30. "Middle Of A Memory" is at #75 on iTunes all genre as of today. Cole is actually outselling the latest from Zac Brown Band, Chris Lane, Kenny Chesney, Frankie Ballard, David Nail, Kip Moore, Big & Rich, William Michael Morgan, Jennifer Nettles, and Tucker Beathard and all those acts have higher airplay. I know the whole ballad summer thing but, this song is connecting really well and I honestly don't know why this song hasn't passed songs like "Livin The Dream" or "I Know Somebody".

Up 3 this morning to #17 on daily charts...doing fine, just probably not as fast of a mover as some, including myself, would have thought coming after the momentum of "You Should Be Here". Video should be released this week, which could boost it further. Eventually should get to the top of the charts, probably around late October, early November.

I really hope "Broke Down" is next. That might be my favorite song Cole has ever done. I think it would be a huge smash hit too.

I agree definitely is a hit, and a slower/ballad type song would be good for the winter months. But he's already had two of those in a row with this and "You Should Be Here". I think the remaining single choices are "Broke Down", "Stars", "Making My Way To You", and of course "Flatliner". Really the only one of those that has tempo is "Flatliner" but obviously they'd need Capitol's permission. It'll be interesting to see what Warner's/Cole's next move is. I would love to see all three of them ("Broke Down", "Stars", and "Making My Way To You") as singles. I'm guessing we'll at least get two more out of this album. I could do without "Flatliner" being a single since I don't really care for it.

If this one finishes soon, which it probably won't but others here will be able to project better, something like Home Game for football season could be cool. That song takes me back every time to high school football season. But other than that I agree, Broke Down or Stars.

I'm expecting this one to start getting a lot more conversions with so many songs ahead struggling or about to go recurrent. Wouldn't surprise me at all if this is near the top 10 in a couple of weeks already.

Gonna have to go with an uptempo song next after two slower, ballad types in a row. I would look for either Up or No Can Left Behind (huge live song), followed almost certainly by Broke Down. Flatliner will not be a single because of Dierks current single being a collab. Would be great if those did well enough for Home Game to be released about next September as a 5th single but that is pretty optimistic.

In terms of the number of spin gains the past week it's the second highest gainer in the 10-20 range. The only one gaining more is is "Setting The World On Fire", so yeah "Middle Of A Memory" is certainly starting to pick up the pace and should be Top 10 soon.

Just with the flashing car lights and how this one ended, I see a good opportunity for them to release "Broke Down" and connect the videos. Pretty easy and fits pretty well.

Yes, a beautiful, heartfelt letter of thanks from Cole Swindell to Nashville, the Country Music Industry all, and Fans
Yesterday, Oct 9, Cole was named Songwriter/Artist of the Year 2016 by the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) during its 46th Anniversary Hall of Fame Gala, Music City Center, Nashville TN. SO deserving! A great honor! I love Cole's latest album YOU SHOULD BE HERE, released on May 6.
On Oct 28, Cole and Warner Music Nashville, Warner Bros Records will release Cole's DOWN HOME SESSIONS III EP, which will kick off the DOWN HOME Tour Oct 26-Dec 16. Special guests include Cole Taylor, Travis Dehning, and Jon Langston.
Cole is nominated for 2016 CMA New Artist of the Year. The CMA Awards Show is on Wed Nov 2 at 8 pm ET/7 pm CT on ABC.

Can't believe how similar this song and "Kiss" from Down Home Sessions I - EP is. Aside from slightly different lyrics, the songs are exactly the same. He even goes so far as to sing this new single's title in the lyrics of "Kiss":
"...girl, you left me here with half a beer in the middle of a memory..."
I'm a big fan of Cole's, but already recycling material on only the second album is pretty alarming. And both songs have that creepy I've-only-known-you-for-a-few-minutes-but-now-I'm-obsessed vibe going on too.

Looks like this is getting held to a second week at #2 this week. I wonder if it will continue to climb for another week, or if Warner will be satisfied and let it go. I imagine that they'll try to get it to #1, but we'll see. He does have a decent lead over Jason Aldean (and the especially Brett Young and FGL/Tim behind him), so it's entirely possible that Cole gets his turn at the top.

Did anyone notice when they did brief intro for him during the CMA Best New Artist segment that "Stars" was playing in the background, which has never been a single? Have to wonder if that was some forward shadowing.
