There are at least three songs ahead of it collapsing that it could pass this week, she may be able to sneak in a few days in the top 10

Peaking within Top 15 already exceeded my expectation for this song. She has many big hits in hand right now. I would like to see her label move on with the next single.

I have a poblem with her lyrics this era, it seems she wants to sing about empowering but frankly it sound way more self centered than anything else Thank you, the song is actively disempowering because it berates the listener bragging that they're jealous of her.

The song is tongue and cheek so if a casual listener is offended then they lack a sense of humor. Radio may be taking its sweet time catching on but it's been sitting pretty in the top 10 on iTunes for over a month.

Don't make everything an issue First off, that's a grammar error. "If I WERE you", not "was". Seriously, did anyone proof-read it? Secondly...yes, it is disempowering. She is better than you. You are worse than her. That's what she's saying and that's off-putting. It's not even interesting and there's nothing that makes you actually want to be her in any way. How is that fun?

Is it a rule that songs need to have perfect grammar? Obviously not since we had a massive hit called "The Way I Are." I feel like anyone listing that as a reason to dislike this song is reaching for reasons to justify their simple distaste for a simple song. Secondly, the song is tongue in cheek. You're not supposed to take it even remotely seriously. Thousands of songs have lyrics like this, why are we bitching about this one in particular? Is it because the performer is a white female popstar instead of a black male rapper? It's just a simple fun song. If you don't enjoy it, that's fine, but if you don't get why others enjoy it, there's really no point in trying to tear it down.

She's based her career on being "empowering" so when she puts out a song that is clearly the opposite from that, yeah it's a bit jarring and off-putting.

See Beyonce's Bow Down.

See Beyonce's Bow Down. I have my issues with Beyoncé and her "feminism" too. I wouldn't classify Bow Down as an empowering song.

Maybe "Me Too" is a little "Feeling myself" bragging about herself. It doesn't bother me though with Meghan because I don't think she thinks she's better than anybody. Besides my friends daughter met her and said she was VERY nice. Granted she's a fan but she's met other singers who weren't AS nice as Meghan.

I think this song does have an empowering message, just not one that's in your face and blatant like her other material. This one really discusses her own confidence and puts down haters by claiming the whole "they just want to be me" thing. It's very much in between the lines, but it's there. Confidence. That's really all this song is talking about. Could it have been phrased better or made more obvious? Sure, but that would take away from the fact that this song is first and foremost a simply, fun, and silly song with no intention to be anything other than that.

I don't think she has the image or personality to pull a song like this off. Who the hell wants to be Meghan Trainor?

I guess that's why she's making herself feel good and singing an empowering song to herself. lol That's the reason in my opinion that this song does work because like you said "No One Wants To Be Meghan". You can tell she's having fun and about to go out for the night. I don't think she means "Everybody wants to be me" literally.

I don't think she has the image or personality to pull a song like this off. Who the hell wants to be Meghan Trainor? Well the song has been out since May, Has been in the iTunes top ten for at least a month and AirPlay is still rising, I think it's more than fair to say she is pulling it off.

Her pop peaks are going to be eerily similar to the Pussycat Dolls second album singles. A lead single with a fast rise and fall, and a second single just missing the Top 10 that has much more longevity.

this won't even get an official peak of #11, will it? Do official peaks count after the recurrents are removed Sunday night?

Adele will pass this tomorrow. Ariana is bleeding spins, but not enough to where even Adele can pass her tomorrow, so she'll still be top ten, this avoiding recurrency. Tomorrow this will have a peak of #12. It could potentially keep going. It's really not showing any signs of falling yet.

And then Meghan will go solo and never get a US release while Trainor will do collaboration with tons of mediocre DJs.
