Eh, I'll just stick with No, since the rest of the album tracks so far has either been boring, solid, burned fast or sucked IMO.

I'm a fan of all Meghan's singles before this, but this is just terrible.

I was rooting so hard for her but this is like Scream and Shout's awkward rejected red-headed step brother.

This is a hot mess. Quite a departure from everything else she's ever done, including "No".

They really should have gone with Better IMO; it would sound so good on the radio alongside other laidback fare like One Dance, This Is What You Came For, and Send My Love. I really liked 'No', sorry, but this is f**king awful. Most of her material this era sounds like bootleg Ariana Grande and not in a good way. She just doesn't have it. Oh please...Ariana just doesn't have the sass to pull off a Meghan record lets be real. She just doesn't have it. Sidestepping the mess of an argument that ensued after this, but I think you really misinterpreted the comment here. Ariana has not ever attempted to pull off a Meghan-sounding record, so whether or not she could pull it off is really beside the point. I don't even think @touch was trying to make it a competition between the two, really. But almost everything we have heard from Thank You so far does, in fact, sound like stuff that Ariana would have released on her first or second album. Probably the only Thank You release thus far that doesn't sound like that is Mom, but lbr the subject matter alone guaranteed that would be album filler. Me Too in particular feels like an Ariana-ish attempt at an LMFAO song, which would be a fine and even intriguing direction for Ariana, but isn't really what I (or most people) are looking for from Meghan. The real problem I have with most of Meghan's current stuff is that it seems to fly completely in the face of what first launched her to success - she was offering something other than a generically catchy pop song from a generically sexy pop tart. She wasn't releasing anything that sounded like another A-lister's leftovers or hoping to ride off the steam of someone else's success formula, because she had a formula all her own; the combination of Meghan's persona and music really made her stand out. And this is coming from someone who loathed everything about Title. Objectively, I appreciated that she was at least bringing something different to the table. But now I feel like her label is trying to give her a full assimilation makeover that no one asked for or wanted, and it's going to hurt her more than help in the long run. All that said, I'm not going to categorically declare this a flop just yet, because again, from an objective point of view it's not any worse than some other pop hits. It's almost summer and this could do all right as a mindlessly fun bop. The video needs to be cheeky though, no more of whatever that No video was.

Omg Ew!! I liked NO, and several of her previous singles but this sounds more like a parody than a real single. It could've been an album track just for the sake of having something ridiculous, but not a second single. This won't do better than NO

I could definitely tell Jason Derulo had taken part in writing this... it's technically a shit song, but I'm a fan of Jason and basic pop shit served to me by radio anyways, so I'll deal and bop to this all summer.

Ariana's first and second album is "pop with R&B" tinged though and is nowhere near to the "funky" sound of Thank You.

Ariana's first and second album is "pop with R&B" tinged though and is nowhere near to the "funky" sound of Thank You. I'll politely disagree, at least to this extent: - The pre-chorus to No builds up in a similar fashion as the pre-chorus in Problem. - Watch Me Do is Focus without the annoying Jamie Foxx "hook." I had forgotten till now that I actually really like this one though. - Better sounds like the next logical step after One More Time and Break Your Heart Right Back. - Me Too just kind of sounds a mess. It admittedly doesn't sound like something Ariana has already recorded; rather, it feels like something Ariana would record in the future. The vocals here are what feel so Grande. - I hated I Love Me too much after one listen to play it again so I'll let you have that one. - I don't really consider anything Meghan has done to be "funky", and if she's the one that described her music that way I'm going to need her to pick up a Chaka Khan or Ohio Players album before she makes such a bold statement again. (Watch Me Do draws more directly from James Brown, but it's not really that funky on its own.) - Although I hear similarities to Ariana's stuff, the crux of my problem with Meghan right now is really the image. Something just feels off with her this era, although I cannot quite put my finger on what it is yet. I admittedly wonder if I would be drawing these comparisons myself if I thought the image was more on point, or at least pretty much the same as the Title era.

I am just not buying what she's selling this time. I liked No and a few songs on the album, I don't like this song but I will admit it is catchy as heck but I liked her debut better so far. it seemed more natural and even her stage presence was more fluid. this music doesn't translate to how she moves well live imo. also yes the red hair was a mistake, I think her blonde hair made her stand out a bit. I'm still rooting for her bc I love how she feels like a friend made it big.

Your comparisons with this album with Ariana's are a reach imo. Meghan's influences in this album are Bruno Mars, James Brown, Aretha Franklin according to Fuse interview she had a while back in January and its clear the funk influence is there.

I love this but I can see why people may think it sounds like a step down from her debut material. Her debut era had the throwback sound and look, cute lyrics etc that made her stand out. This era so far feels a little forced and maybe that's why it feels a little cheap???? The "No" video made it seem like she was trying to be a typical pop star. However some of the new music isn't to to far off from some of the album tracks from her debut cd. I hope "Me Too" does well. I don't mind the "LMFAO" sound seems to influence the chorus.
I have so far LOVED "No", "Me Too and "Better" I liked "Watch Me Do" and "Mom" was ok.

Oh please...Ariana just doesn't have the sass to pull off a Meghan record lets be real. She just doesn't have it. You know what Ariana does have? More than one hit. I really hope you're not implying Meghan only has one hit. That being said, this song really has me worried. I kinda like it, but it's not giving me hit single vibes, let alone Pop Radio hit vibes. I fear that this will ruin the Pop Radio momentum she built from the Title era and NO!

Oh please...Ariana just doesn't have the sass to pull off a Meghan record lets be real. She just doesn't have it. You know what Ariana does have? More than one hit. I am a huge fan of Ari, WAYYY more than Meghan But there is no denying that AATB was way bigger than Problem, which also was a monster hit. Plus, if you do compare there major singles, Meghan is more successful Let's take there album singles and there terms of success, since both there previous albums both had 4 singles each AATB (Higher peak + Double year end appearance) > Problem Lips Are Movin (Same peak, but higher year end placement by a 10 spot difference) > Break Free Dear Future Husband < Love Me Harder Like I'm Gonna Lose You > One Last Time And Title has sold more than My Everything as well Also, No has been doing better than Dangerous Woman so far as current album lead singles. So, you can't go disrespecting Meghan even if Ari is a better artist. Mainly since, AATB alone is one of most successful songs of all time and is a chart topper A feat Ari has yet to accomplish. Also, IMO Ari & Meghan are pretty different in sound Meghan has gone into some Doo-wop influence and is now doing more pure Pop While Ari has pop with influences of R&B or EDM/Dance overall/
