Wasnโt there a new post here like a minute ago or am I seeing things? I had a post ranting about this song, but I deleted it to avoid controversy, but I might as well devulge. Basically this song is my least favorite of the year because I hate kissoff numbers and Maren Morris sounds more cocky than confident on this song, I am annoyed at it's success and Maren Morris success in exchange for much better female songs and artists that I would rather see succeed.

I like this song and Maren a quite a bit. I was just listening to "Dear Hate" in honor of 1 year since the Vegas tragedy and wow what a powerful song that is! I hope this can get close to the top of the chart. We haven't had a woman at number one in a while I believe as Carrie missed out and Kelsea, Carly and Maren's last hit were months and months ago now.

Last #1 with a female was technically Jason Aldean and Miranda Lambert with "Drowns The Whiskey" at the end of August and into September, but that doesn't really count since Miranda doesn't even have a solo line in the song. Before that one we have to go back to Bebe Rexha and FGL with "Meant To Be" on the Airplay Chart for the week of April 28. The last pure solo country female artist number one on the Airplay chart was Kelsea Ballerini with "Legends" at the end of February. Maren Morris' "I Could Use A Love Song" hit number one a month before that.

Rich is not my favourite song, but I am very happy for it to reach #1 if nothing else because Maren deserves it.

I am anxious to see how much longer they promote this. Do they settle for the Top 10 and drop it for a lead single or push it for the next six weeks and hit us with the first single in January?
Sky is the limit for her and this is my favorite song of hers yet, so I am thrilled with the success.

The fact that she says she will take this guy back no matter how often he lies, cheats, etc is the furthest from cocky she could be. Iโm trying not to be a jerk (even though this was explained to you multiple times by a variety of people on page 2).

34 adds on add date. Most added this week as well. I want to like this song, but this song sounds horrible in so many ways. Production is horrible. The lyrics just come off way too diva esque and kinda bitchy if you ask me. I really wish they would've just taken some down time in between "I Could Use A Love Song" and her sophomore album. Honestly besides "My Church" and "80s Mercedes" as a guilty pleasure none of the Maren Morris singles have left a lasting impression on me and this song honestly was one of my least favorites on the album. Sorry. Still excited for when she releases new music though๐! Despite my dislike of this song, I'll definitely check out the music video for this as it looks promising. (p.s sorry for my "bitchy" comment as that was a very poor choice of words). I always like a real colorful music video and it looks like that could be a great music video. Ok I am glad you said "for me" because I was about to say it isn't factual this is the best female single on radio because me personally this is my least fave of all of the female songs on the charts. I do think this is the definition of love it or hate it song, there's hardly any middle ground from what I hear from others that have heard the song. I also believe that radio more often than not will prefer the safe option and I do think regardless of how successful this song is, the label should play it safe with the lead single. Taking a risk with a lead single can blow up like it did with Brett Eldredge. The reason why I thought this would be polarizing af is the "La da di das" or however the hell you spell it. The rather loud nature of the song and the general attitude of the song, which all of this is 100% legit reasoning in my eyes. If you guys don't think so that's fine by me. Good for Maren Morris that this will be successful and probably Top 10 when all is said and done. Good for her. But I myself am a little annoyed, and kind of disgusted that out of all the females in country music to see consistent success, it's her. She isn't my least favorite female artist signed to a major label (that would go to Clare Dunn or Tenille Townes), but she's pretty down there. Besides "My Church" and the album track "I Wish I Was" none of her music does anything for me or it makes me annoyed and I dislike it. I am all for more women in country music, I just wish it was the female singers I liked and not the ones that leave me unimpressed, at the end of the day I as a fan want music that I like to succeed. regardless of the artists gender. If I don't like the song itself I am not rooting for their success unless said artist releases a song or music I like, and as it stands I am not pro Maren Morris really at all.

Tbh he's not even going to see your response to be completely honest... Also, anybody who doesn't like kiss-off numbers has not been paying enough attention to Queen Jo Dee through the years. raylatch98, you should listen to this song! It'll expand your horizons! Might even become your new Pulse theme song!

To get this thread back on track, I am SO happy this has hit top 10. With such a weak top 10 right now, I'm hoping this can continue to cruise right through to make it deep into the top 10, preferably #1! I'm still very impressed with the continuous gains this song has had for the past month or two. As ready as I am for new Maren music, I want this to go as far as it can!

At this point, there is no reason to not let this hit #1. How great would it be not only for Maren to have her first #1 in 2018, but also her second - or, if you count "The MIddle", her third.

Glad she got another hit with this! One of my faves from the album! I assume this is the last single from the album? Think I read a while back she was pretty far into her second album. Canโt wait!

I haven't really been into Maren's music much. I never disliked it, but it wasn't my cup of tea. This track, however, is truly a great song! I absolutely adore how this is clearly influenced by reggae and hip-hop, yet still firmly within the reigns of country. I'm happy to see it blossom into yet another hit for her, and I hope her follow up album dives more into this sound.

Spectrum Pulse's review: "This was the worst song off of Maren Morris' debut album and two years have not improved it. And I can see why some might give this a pass: the lumpy guitars and bass have some actual tune and Maren Morris has attitude, but beyond that it's a smarmy kissoff for all the times she's gone back to this guy and then gotten dumped again and the hook is stuffed with about as many non-country brand names as you'll see in your average trap song! It's just clunky and obnoxious in a really clumsy way, and the central sentiment doesn't even work, because if you were getting money every time you dealt with this guy, you've got the incentive to never stop, and considering the alternative scenario is not even painted, it just feels grasping and undercooked."

Oh well, more for me to enjoy!

I don't see what he said as controversial, or bad of what he said. If you disagree fine, but everyone is right in their interpretation of the song within reason and his opinion isn't wrong.
