I'm not entirely sure on how long Closer is going to top for? I'm going to give it 3 more weeks (5 in total). After that, I predict Cold Water rushing into the top spot unless Perfect Illusion (hopefully) blocks it.

Im thinking Closer has 6 weeks locked. It's nearly double cold water in points.

And thank God, I pray Cold Water doesn't reach number one. I'm not just saying this becuase I'm a Lady Gaga fan, but I hope Perfect Illusion becomes number one. 😂

Heathens probably.
The Suicide Squad hype is still holding strong. It will most definitely be 2016's Halloween smash hit (as was the case for "The Hills" in 2015 and "Animals" in 2014).
Now, if only we can have a Christmas hit. Don't recall the last time we had one of those.

I also think that the next #1, that will dethrone "Closer" is not charting yet. I don't think it will be "Heathens", but "Cold Water" still stands a chance to have at leat one week at #1, but it all depends on the release of the video. Gaga will probably have a top 10 debut but at this point it's hard to say if it will be a strong #1 contender.

From what producers and radio host, and even Gaga herself are saying, it's supposed to be an amazing hit. Plus, Mark Ronson produced the song as well, so if history repeats itself with Uptown Funk, it'll be a smash.

9/24 will be Closer's last week at #1 because on 9/30, Perfect Illusion will definitely debut at #1.

You can speculate about the chart performance based on the hype and overall situation, but before song is released, you can't assume its quality, regardless of anything.

Maybe The Fox by Ylvis, such a monstrosity was perfect for Halloween Chosing from these two, I think that "Moster" was more of a Halloween song, "Demons" was more of a weak Coldplay rip off, something that I don't really associate with Halloween

There's no way Gaga is debuting at #1. If she couldn't do it with "Applause", there's no way she will do it now.

Don't get me wrong, I like both bands, I just thought that single was a big misstep for Imagine Dragons. Anyway, now that Sia has a new song out, do you think that "Cheap Thrills" hype will elevate it into top 10? This might also be a #1 contender.

Gaga would need some INTENSE streaming and some serious airplay to even be considered for number 1.

If the rumors are true that she's going rock... I'm sure that'll split her fanbase. I'm not counting on a #1 hit for her

We'll see on Friday but I doubt GaGa will debut at #1. Sales are way down, they don't represent as much as they used to on the Hot 100 and her streaming power has yet to be tested.
I think Closer will be there for a while unless something unexpected happens. Cold Water isn't looking that strong at the moment and Heathens already has a video out so a big streaming bump isn't happening at this point.
Too Good could have been a contender with a music video but at this point it looks like it'll peak sooner rather than later.

I love Gaga but she has no chance against Closer. #2 however, is not exactly scoring huge weekly points now so with her fanbase it's reachable (Applause debuted at #6 and had two exceptionally huge hits above it Roar and Blurred Lines)

I don't see any reason to think that any single currently on the charts will overtake "Closer." "Closer" is way ahead in sales and streams, and it's rising faster in airplay than the other songs. It also still has the possibility of a video release to spur sales and streams more. What would lead anything else to overtake it?
Lady Gaga would have to have insane sales to debut #1, so that will be tough. Regardless, I don't think the next #1 is currently charting.

After hearing it couple of times, I don't think I would even root for "Perfect Illusion" to go #1.
Top 10 or even top 20 would be satisfying enough for this song. I really don't want it to flop, let's not forget about other singles from that album that might do just as well or better and be 100 times better than this...

Here's what I'd say:
10/1: Chainsmokers #1, Cold Water #2, Gaga #4 10/8: Chainsmokers #1, Heathens #2, Gaga #7 10/15: Chainsmokers #1, Heathens #2, Gaga #9 10/22: Chainsmokers #1, Heathens #2, Cold Water #4, Gaga #12 10/29: Chainsmokers #1, Heathens #2, Gaga #17 11/19: Heathens #1, Chainsmokers #2, Cold Water #7 11/26: Chainsmokers return to #1, Heathens #3, Cold Water #9, Gaga below #50 1/7: Chainsmokers lose #1 but are at 17 weeks at #1, breaking the record, Heathens #12, Cold Water #32, Gaga gone
