One of my favorite Lana songs, and while it fits thematically with her general output, something about the extra fragile-ness of her voice here (especially the "don't break me down..." and "I'm tired of feeling like I'm f**king crazy" bits) still makes this spine-tingling four years later. And I'd wager it's my favorite video clip of the last five years by a long shot, I can't even guess how many times I've re-watched it. Utterly captivating, both song and video.
It didn't really chart in the States aside from the niche rock/alternative ones. It was released before "Summertime Sadness" remix hit it big so didn't really get to ride off that (no pun intended); but, even if it was, I doubt it would've helped as this is harder to digest than an EDM remix of "Summertime Sadness"

Holy s**t. She changed the arrangement or sang in a different key or whatever when I saw her perform this live last summer and it was fantastic. A huge improvement from ha usual struggle vox. I remember being really underwhelmed with this after being obsessed with Born to Die... and then this turned out to be the best song on Paradise.

I've always found this one boring.

This was the song that really pushed her over the edge for me. Her debut had so many strong moments, but this was a definite elevation in sound. That chorus and that bridge, the feels.

By the time this came out, I was obsessed with Lana. You guys have already put everything into words better than I could have. I love the pacing of the song and how it builds.
