hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=301489Saturday, June 11, 2016 NEW RELEASES: A NICK, DRAKE WEEKNo new release will challenge Drake next week as he remains the favorite to top our Sales Plus Streaming (SPS) chart for a stunning seventh consecutive week. Things get a bit fuzzier on our sales chart as we head into Sunday’s Tony Awards. With no debut entry expected to sell over 50k next week, we’re keeping a close eye on Hamilton as a likely contender for #1. Nick Jonas (Safehouse/Island) 52-57k SPS, 42-47k album Jon Bellion (Capitol) 35-40k, 30-35k Garbage (Vagrant) 18-20k, 17-19k Paul McCartney (Hear Music) 16-18k, 15-17k Band of Horses (Interscope) 11-13k, 10-12 Now Country (NOW) 11-13k

Anyone have news on how Kaleo might do? It was Top 3 on iTunes most of the day, but it's gone to #10 since then (there are four greatest hits album above it).
They're on Elektra; is that one of the labels that HDD pretends to not exist?

Fitz And The Tantrums and Kaleo are both Atlantic Records artists, but I'm not sure their absence from this list is due to vitriol.
Hits Daily Double does not acknowledge Interscope or Atlantic Records artists in its radio updates, but it *does* list Kaleo as one of the top acts on its "vibe raters" site. It has also been hyping up Dreezy's "Body" video. So it's clear that there's no site-wide ban on those labels; the "beef" is specific to radio news. {Which makes me really, really want to know the backstory here}
It's possible that the strained relationship means Hits doesn't have Atlantic sources from whom to get one-day sales data, although I'm pretty sure they have posted early projections for the bigger sellers (Wale, Wiz, Ed Sheeran, etc). And I know they've posted early sales updates for Interscope acts (including Selena and Gwen Stefani).
Plus, it's not like Hits hasn't been omitting non-Atlantic/Interscope acts from its projections columns. The Monkees weren't even in the Tuesday Top 15 article, and didn't they debut in the Top *10* for pure sales with like twice as many sales as the albums that *did* appear in the Top 15 article?

Tegan and Sara will debut Top 10 though right? They were this past week though? Hits has them at #9 on the album sales chart and #16 for total consumption.

www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/7401431/hamilton-cast-album-top-10-billboard-200-chart-tonys'Hamilton' Cast Album Heading for Top 10 of Billboard 200 Chart After Tony Awards Triumph6/13/2016 by Keith Caulfield Following Hamilton’s 11 Tony Award wins on Sunday, the musical's original Broadway cast recording is heading for the top 10 of the Billboard 200 albums chart for the first time. Industry forecasters suggest the set could earn upward of 35,000 equivalent album units in the week ending June 16. (In the week ending June 9, it tallied 28,000 -- a gain of 29 percent -- and jumped 18-13 on the Billboard 200 chart dated June 25.) If Hamilton reaches the top 10, it will be the first cast recording to reach the top 10 since The Book of Mormon in 2011. The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The new July 2-dated chart (where Hamilton may reach the top 10) is schedule to have its top 10 announced on Sunday, June 19. The original Broadway cast recording of Hamilton has sold a total of 445,000 copies in the U.S., through the week ending June 9, according to Nielsen Music. The set, which was released on Sept. 25, 2015, is already among the top 20 best-selling cast albums of the last 25 years, and is the biggest selling cast album released in more than 10 years. The last cast recording released with greater sales is the original Broadway cast recording of Jersey Boys, which bowed on Nov. 1, 2005 and has sold 1.4 million to date. Since the Hamilton album debuted 37 weeks ago at No. 12 on the Billboard 200 (the highest debut for a cast album since 1961), the set has yet to depart the list, and has spent the last 13 weeks in the top 20. It recently hit a new peak, climbing to No. 11 on the May 28-dated list. Thus far, it is the highest charting cast recording since 2011, when The Book of Mormon reached the top 10, peaking at No. 3 in the wake of its multiple Tony Award wins (and a temporary discount price of $1.99 in the Amazon MP3 store).

people, Is Nick going to get 1 in top albums sales, ahead Beyonce and Drake? And N2 in billboard 200 ahead Beyonce? Can't believe my boy is going to get that!!! I always believed in him since the beginning!!! And also He's going to top 10 in New Zealand and Canada. Also he's doing better worldwide than Nick Jonas. I just love him, and get happy.

Ariana spent 2 weeks above Anti on the SPS chart. Meghan and 5H only got 1 each.

That's a good opening for Nick Jonas, and an increase from the previous debut despite it being June and without as big a hit.

hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=301564Friday, June 17, 2016 TOP 3: WHO'S ON TOP ON OUR SPS, SALES CHARTSWith this week's Sales Plus Streaming (SPS) and Albums Sales charts nearly final, let's take a gander at who's on top. Drake, the sultan of streaming, kicks off his seventh week atop the SPS scoreboard, while Nick Jonas' Last Year Was Complicated is both the week's biggest bow and the #1 album seller, edging out the Tonys-hogging Hamilton on both charts. Beyoncé's Lemonade, meanwhile, continues to be very sweet indeed. SPSDrake (YMCMB/Republic) 121k Nick Jonas (Safehouse/Island) 69k Hamilton (Uptown) 61k ALBUMSNick Jonas (Safehouse/Island) 47k Hamilton (Uptown) 45k Beyoncé (Columbia) 37k We'll be discussing all this in greater depth later, but now seems like as good a time as any to reiterate that the SPS chart adds albums sales, Streaming Equivalent Albums (SEA) and Track Equivalent Albums (TEA) to get its total. We don't use the term "consumption" because it makes us think of tuberculosis. Anyhoo, 10 tracks = 1 album is the TEA formula; 150 streams = 1 track and so 1,500 streams = 1 album for SEA. And that's all the math we'll ask you to do on a Friday. You may now resume bonging.
