ONE-DAYS: CHILIS SPICE THINGS UP
Drake may get a challenge next week from Red Hot Chili Peppers, as both are expected to land somewhere around 100k on our Sales Plus Streaming (SPS) chart.
Red Hot Chili Peppers (Warner Bros.) 100-105k SPS, 90-95k albums YG (Def Jam) 37-42k, 27-30k Mumford & Sons (Glassnote) 28-32k, 25-28k Jon Pardi (Capitol Nashville) 21-24k, 18-21k
Just to review: SPS (we don’t say consumption, as it reminds of the demise of Emma Bovary) is compiled by adding album sales, TEA (1 unit per 10 tracks sold) and SEA (1 unit per 1,500 streams). You’re welcome.

Yikes. Mumford and Sons went from over 600k opening week with Babel, to less than 300k with Wilder Mind, to not even 30k with their newest album? Didn't realize their career tanked that hard so fast.

It's an EP; not an album. Oh, that explains it. I know Wilder Mind wasn't received so well, but that decline seemed a bit too extreme.

RHCP will be a lock for the Top Album Sales #1. Hoping their SPS predictions rise so that they can finally overthrow Drake. Then again Drake should get a Father's Day boost.... ( Take Care, Nothing Was the Same and If You're Reading This It's Too Late all gained in performance thanks to it as stated in the links, and Views should likewise do the same) Also, anyone else curious to see how big Radiohead's boost will be following A Moon Shaped Pool's physical and Spotify release?

YG has no hit right now? Not a disappointment at all. He isn't relevant right now. Numbers are very expected and in line.
That's great for M&S. It is an EP, yes, but it is also very hush hush (is it even physical in stores?) plus it is a "world" sound and VERY different from their usual stuff. it is something just for fans.
Haven;t heard RHCP yet, hope it is good.

Drake is getting a one day boost from a $6.99 sale. It's Red Hot Chili Peppers vs. Drake for No. 1 Album on Billboard 200 Chart6/22/2016 by Keith Caulfield
Red Hot Chili Peppers and Drake are vying for the No. 1 slot on next week’s Billboard 200 albums chart, according to industry forecasters.Red Hot Chili Peppers and Drake are vying for the No. 1 slot on next week’s Billboard 200 albums chart, according to industry forecasters. The Peppers’ new album, The Getaway, and Drake’s reigning champ Views, may each earn around 110,000 to 120,000 equivalent album units in the week ending June 23. Views debuted atop the list, and has been locked in the penthouse ever since -- for a total of seven weeks at No. 1. The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The new July 9-dated chart (where the Peppers and Drake are dueling for the top slot) is scheduled to have its top 10 revealed on Sunday, June 26. The Getaway was released June 17 through Warner Bros. Records and is the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ first studio effort since 2011’s I’m With You. That set debuted and peaked at No. 2 with an opening sales week of 228,000 copies sold. The group has earned one No. 1 album: Stadium Arcadium in 2006. Views is getting a last-minute goose in sales at digital retailers, as the set was marked down to $6.99 at multiple sellers, including iTunes, Google Play and Amazon MP3 on June 22. On that day, Republic Records, which released Views, tweeted: “Flash Sale! #VIEWS available for just $6.99! One day only!” Meanwhile, the Peppers’ The Getaway was selling for between $11.49 and $11.99 at those three retailers. Other albums aiming for high debuts on the Billboard 200 include YG’s Still Brazy (35,000 to 40,000 units) and Mumford & Sons’ Johannesburg EP (30,000 to 35,000 units).

Just saw 25 is finally available on Spotify, good timing I guess with the sales have leveled off, the Spotify exposure would boost SPS and of course Billboard 200 ranking

Here's how it looks: Drake (YMCMB/Republic) 121k SPSRed Hot Chili Peppers (Warner Bros.) 116k SPSRHCP will still have the #1 spot on our Album Sales chart; stay tuned for the full chart rundowns later today. Barring any massive surprises, Drake will have a ninth #1 on the SPS chart next week.

Still overpriced and his pure sales are atrocious. Eight weeks at #1 and only two in the sales top 2.

Yes @ Prince holding up so well still!
Ouch @ Nick Jonas. Hopefully it'll stabilize.
And fuck that @ the Peppers being No. 2. Damn Drake (even though I like him).

Very disappointed in RHCPs sales. Hope Dark Necessities can reach Hot 100, that'd be a sort of a consolation prize.
