RHCP were the only ones to be considered to beat Drake at this point but there wasn't much interest towards their album (-50% compared to previous opening week)
Interesting to see Adele's streaming numbers. 25 will surely climb into top 10 but will it go top 5?

It's interesting to see how low the numbers are across the board even with SPS included. It's #MakingMeSick.

When 10k can make the top 10 for sales, I don't know how anyone can see that as a real measure of popularity.
Yeah even SPS totals are low, but it's hard to know what accurate "SPS" ratios should be. Regardless obviously sales suck.

www.billboard.com/biz/articles/7423918/adeles-25-heading-back-to-top-10-on-billboard-200-after-streaming-debutAdele's '25' Heading Back to Top 10 on Billboard 200 After Streaming DebutBy Keith Caulfield | June 30, 2016 12:20 PM EDT Adele’s 25 is headed back to the top 10 of the Billboard 200 albums chart, following the set’s arrival on streaming services. The album made its streaming debut on June 24 -- a little over seven months after the album was released on Nov. 20, 2015. Until June 24, the only tracks available from the set to stream on-demand were its three singles: “Hello,” “When We Were Young” and “Send My Love (To Your New Lover).” Industry forecasters suggest the album could earn between 32,000 and 37,000 equivalent album units in the week ending June 30 and jump back into the top 10 on the July 16-dated chart. On the July 9 list, the set ranked at No. 12 with 29,000 units. (A week before that, the set was in the top 10, where it has spent most of its 31 weeks on the chart.) The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The new July 16-dated chart is scheduled to have its top 10 revealed on Sunday, July 3. Notably, while the full 25 album hasn’t been on streaming services, its three singles have tallied a huge audience -- which has contributed to the album’s rank on the weekly Billboard 200 chart. On the July 9 chart (tracking week ending June 23), for example, “Hello,” “When We Were Young” and “Send My Love (To Your New Lover)” racked up 8.1 million on-demand audio streams in the U.S. according to Nielsen Music. That sum equates to more than 5,000 SEA units for 25 that week, with 17,000 units derived from traditional album sales and more than 6,000 from TEA. 25 debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and spent a total of 10 weeks atop the list. The album has sold 8.8 million copies in the U.S. The set’s available songs have generated 289 million on-demand streams (led by “Hello,” with 230 million).

hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=301774Saturday, July 2, 2016 THIS WEEK IS ALL ETHOSFor a ninth week, Drake’s Views (YMCMB/Republic) is #1 on our Sales Plus Streaming (SPS) Chart. Meanwhile, The Avett Brothers—another Republic act—had the highest-charting debut with 48k for True Sadness, which appeared at #3. True Sadness (American) scores the #1 spot on the Album Sales Chart with 45k. XL/Columbia queen Adele shot up to #7 in her 32nd week on the chart, after her 25 became available for streaming worldwide. The gazillion-selling diva also topped the U.K. charts in the wake of a splashy Glastonbury set. Epic’s compilation of previously released tracks, Epic AF, leapt #25-10, earning another 25k. The move follows the release of DJ Khaled’s latest single (with Jay Z and Future), “I Got the Keys,” which was then added to the aforementioned set. It also follows the label’s buzzed-about live music event, #EpicFest. Also post-#EpicFest, Future’s EVOL (A1/Freebandz/Epic) jumped #37-26. EVOL was included in a $7.99 sale at iTunes, as was Panic! At The Disco’s Death of a Bachelor (DCD2), which went #45-32. Speaking of chart bumps, Kanye West’s The Life of deleted (G.O.O.D./Def Jam) saw an ever bigger one, thanks to the release of his controversial “Famous” video, which featured 12 lifelike, presumably synthetic figures of celebrities—including Kanye, Kim, Taylor Swift and Donald Trump—naked in a bed together. On a related note, we’d like to clear something up about that video. Sources say ‘Ye drew his inspiration from artist Vincent Desiderio’s 2008 painting “Sleep,” but we know he was more likely inspired by the HITS team photo that hangs in our conference room. Good luck trying to get that image out of your head, buddy! Anyway, strictly on the album sales side, a selection of rock-oriented albums re-entered the chart, following a 99-cent sale at Google Play. Those are Van Halen’s 1984 (Warner Bros.) at #12, Disturbed’s Ten Thousand Fists (Reprise) at #18, Green Day’s International Superhits (Reprise) at #20 and Avenged Sevenfold’s Hail to the King (Warner Bros.) at #24. Streeting this week are albums from BMG’s blink-182, Columbia’s Maxwell, Doggy Style/eOne’s Snoop Dogg and Island’s American Authors, as well as RCA labelmates GRACE and Latium’s Magic!.

Extremely good holds for Beyonce week after week. Some kind of fourth quarter push/Thanksgiving HBO special and it may end up the top selling album of the year. I still think there's at least one more big selling album to come from somewhere this year, even if it may not be on anyone's radar yet. This includes possible Holiday releases that really take off.
Ariana's falling hard on sales.
