I hope this is good. I think that with the right song, Garth can make a dent on country radio again. I hope this is it.

I was very disappointed with Man Against Machine. You are not alone. There was a ton of hype built around it and I was left wanting more and so disappointed.

I have 90% of Garth's albums, I am a big fan, but I agree, Man Against Machine was very underwhelming. I want to love his music again, but I have no high hopes.

I have everything of Garth Brooks except the Chris Gaines project and Man Against Machine. My sister ONLY has the Gaines CD. I wonder if she is really my sister.

The Chris Gaines album is actually one of my favorites. I think if he had released the good songs from it, it might have been looked at, as a better album. Btw, I miss only Man Against Machine and Beyond The Season. I particularly like the box sets, 4 of them, they all with great packaging <3

I actually just bought the Chris Gaines CD for $1 at an old record store. I had the cassette in 99 when it came out but I haven't listened to it since 99. I'm going to give the CD a listen again.

Garth's new single will hit Country radio at 7:00 am ET on Thursday. From Country Aircheck. Pearl Records just hired a radio staff and they will promote the song to radio.

Garth has to promote new music with a bag of Fritos? How the mighty have fallen. I would think Fritos approached Garths people, not vice versa. It does look weird though. Working in retail I see other country artist do cross promotions. Theirs are usually alcohol though.

Working in retail I see other country artist do cross promotions. Theirs are usually alcohol though Reba McEntire had a Fritos sponsorship in the mid 90's. She even did a commercial for the Fritos Texas Grill brand. Other artists such as Billy Ray Cyrus and Mark Chesnutt have also had some kind of partnership with Fritos. Country music and Fritos seem to go hand in hand lol. As for Garth's new single I'm keeping my expectations low, especially after his last era left me feeling very underwhelmed. I'll keep an open mind, however, but I do hope the production level is better this time around.

GhostTunes always makes me think of this guy. I have all of the Garth albums except for his Christmas ones. Not much of a Christmas music person. Yes, I have the Gaines album. "It Don't Matter to the Sun" wasn't THAT bad. I actually thought the Chris Gaines thing wasn't a terrible idea, just not a good thing for a country artist to be doing.

Funny, the Christmas album is one of the few of his I own. lol Found it at an old Media Play years back for a couple bucks. I actually think it's pretty good; his version of "It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year" is my favorite rendition.

This is really weird, because Garth's Facebook page is hashtagging it as just "Baby Let's Dance"...which honestly sounds a lot better, and makes more sense But apparently the folks at Taste of Country have heard it, so...idk.

According to this article, the song is going to be called "Baby, Let's Lay Down And Dance" It's hard to make money in the music business these days, and a creative approach is key. Maybe that's why country superstar and erstwhile Chris Gaines alter ego Garth Brooks bowed to the gods of marketing to drop his new single via ... chip bag. An official press release revealed that Brooks has partnered with Frito-Lay to include a download code for his new song "Baby, Let's Lay Down and Dance" with every bag of Fritos Corn Chips sold in these magnificent 50 states starting this month. The song's title hints at something a little naughty, so, hey, good for you, Frito-Lay (a division of PepsiCo), for taking a corporate stance that sex exists and is somewhat like dancing lying down. The new single, which drops worldwide tomorrow, points to a forthcoming new album, though none has been announced as of yet. Brooks is also set to release a 25th-anniversary edition of his classic album No Fences and a record of holiday duets with wife Trisha Yearwood — both of which will be discounted upon release with, you guessed it, a code from a Fritos bag. And while this seems like a missed opportunity to rename the new single "Baby, Let's (Frito) Lay(s) Down and Dance," it's a totally seized opportunity to irrevocably link sex and corn chips in your mind. www.vulture.com/2016/10/new-garth-brooks-song-is-in-your-bag-of-fritos-chips.htmlAnother article PLANO, Texas, Oct. 12, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Fritos, one of the flagship brands from PepsiCo's Frito-Lay division, has teamed up with one of the most successful music artists of all time, Garth Brooks, to offer fans an exclusive chance to download the icon's newest single from his upcoming studio album. Starting this month, anyone who purchases a bag of Fritos Corn Chips will find a code on the bag that allows them to get a free download of Brooks' new song, "Baby, Let's Lay Down and Dance." The free download is part of an exclusive partnership, which means Fritos fans will be among the first with access to the new song. The single drops worldwide tomorrow alongside a press conference at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. "You don't get any bigger or better than Garth Brooks, and we're completely honored to help give fans a fun way to discover his newest work," said Christina Clarke, senior director of marketing, Frito-Lay North America. "Fritos has been an American icon satisfying fans for more than 80 years, so it's only fitting that we'd be teaming up with a legendary icon like Garth Brooks for an unprecedented offer like this." The new single is from Brooks' upcoming studio album, which is expected to be released this fall, and the exclusive download offer is available to consumers through the rest of the year. In addition to his upcoming studio album, Brooks plans to release a 25th Anniversary Edition of his RIAA-certified Diamond album "No Fences" and an album of holiday duets with wife and fellow country musician Trisha Yearwood. Later this year, as part of Brooks' partnership with Frito-Lay, discounts on both albums will be offered exclusively to fans who purchase a bag of Fritos corn chips. www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/frito-lay-teams-up-with-garth-brooks-to-release-new-music-300343748.html

"Lay Down and Dance" as a title just didn't make sense... now the title makes sense, but I find it disturbing lol. I don't want to hear a song about sex or making love that describes it as 'laying down and dancing', especially coming from Garth Brooks.

I think the title, as it stands now, is extremely long and clunky. The title before wasn't any great shakes either.

After reading that review from TOC I'm a little worried. It's barely 2 and a half minutes and they seem to kinda be sugar coating their description of the song. Really hoping I'm wrong though. We need Garth Brooks back on the radio doing Garth things.

Just heard it on The Highway. I was never a huge fan of Garth to begin with so take my thoughts with a grain of salt, but it sounds kind of like an old take on something like "Make Me Wanna."

Audio is up on All Access. www.allaccess.com/country/cool-new-musicThey said on The Highway that some of the same musicians who play on Justin Timberlake's studio tracks play on this new Garth single. The mixing job and production is certainly an improvement from "People Loving People". Don't know how to feel about the song yet though; I agree with @nickv1025 that it sounds a little like "Make Me Wanna" -- along with perhaps "Loving You Easy" and perhaps some "Wrapped Up In You" thrown in as well.

Now I wouldn't go as far to say that Garth is trend-chasing, meaning some of the sounds and production we hear on country radio today, but it's definitely a more progressive sound than I'm used to hearing from Garth. Not sure how I feel about it yet. I also completely agree that this song is a mix of "Make Me Wanna", "Loving You Easy", and "Wrapped Up In You". That is so accurate. Can't believe we're competing a Garth song to Thomas Rhett lol.
