Chainsmokers aren't technically new, but I guess now we pretend that "Selfie" didn't exist.

Chainsmokers aren't technically new, but I guess now we pretend that "Selfie" didn't exist. Rules for this category are weird. An act can be submitted 3 times for consideration if they haven't released 3 albums yet. I honestly think The Chainsmokers should take this. Roses, Don't Let Me Down and Closer made a bigger impact than the rest of the nominees combined.

Surprised 7 people voted for Anderson .Paak winning, or should win. I really hope he's the random dark horse that wins the award.

Chance The Rapper for both. It seems like it was destined since he got that article that his album was going to be considered for a Grammy Nom even though it was streaming only.

I do not want Chainsmokers to win. However, it will probably be either Morris or Paak. I mean, these are the Grammys. The same show that let's lesser known (yet usually talented) singers that popular ones, like when Spaulding beat Drake and Florence &The Machine...and Bieber.

Should: Maren Morris Will: Chance the Rapper
I'm surprised so many people think The Chainsmokers over Chance. Sure, I wouldn't be surprised if that actually happened, but I think Chance is the frontrunner for sure.

I didn't even know who Anderson .Paak was before viewing this poll, so I looked him up quick on YouTube. "Come Down" is a total jam. I'd need to listen to more of his music, but he probably wouldn't be my style overall. I sure liked that one though.

Should: Chance Will: Chance
He helped push the committee to change their views on Streaming Only albums. With 7 nominations and critical acclaim he has it stacked in his favor so far. The Chainsmokers are only going by a string of songs and not a complete collection of music which I feel puts them actually under the rest of the pack.

In my eyes, there are 3 acts here that are extremely, extremely deserving of a win: Maren Morris, Chance the Rapper, and Anderson Paak. Anderson Paak and Maren Morris are two phenomenal artists who've made absolutely fantastic music, and I support both of them winning wholeheartedly. I would love to see Chance the Rapper win because of the doors he broke through this year with 7 nominations off of streaming-only products, as Linnethia Monique mentioned. Combined with the fact that he's made stellar music, and I see no reason as to why he shouldn't win. Having said that, the Grammys are never ones to go heavily one-way or the other in terms of honoring artists in the big 4, and seeing as the other three categories are about to be run by pop and urban wins for Adele and Beyonce, I'm hesitant to believe that Chance the Rapper or Anderson Paak will have strong enough chances at winning this thing. They may also look at this year's breakthrough for Chance the Rapper and think to themselves, "Wow, we did something great and made a statement with artists and streaming. We don't need to give him every award, because the nominations were already enough of a message! Let's give the honor to someone else." Split-voting could also be the kiss of death for both Maren Morris and Kelsea Ballerini here, as they're both two women in country music competing against each other. It'd be so damn sad to see Maren Morris' chance at winning this thing get scrapped because of Ballerini's nomination, but it's highly possible, which upsets me. And with those points leaves only 1 nominee: The Chainsmokers. I've never made it much of a secret on here that I see absolutely zero value in this duo. On top of the fact that I really can't stand artists with blatantly huge and/or obnoxious egos (outside of their music), the products they've put out this year have been nothing special in the slightest. They've taken off, yes, but from a technical/quality standpoint, "Closer" is basic. Literally any of their loops could've been made by a high schooler with average knowledge of how to use Logic Pro. Also, the lead singer can hardly sing for shit. He can thank Halsey for saving his ass in their live performances of the song, though I'm not wild about her voice, either. But, they could have the whole pop world and Dance/EDM world in their corner for this category, which could be enough to give them the win. Sad, but possible. SHOULD: Maren Morris or Chance the Rapper WILL: The Chainsmokers
