Radio would be stupid to ignore this. Well... they ignored "Run Away With Me" two years ago.

The verses are pretty okay. Sounds like a leftover E•MO•TION track for sure. That is, until that chorus! DAMN! Best pop chorus since "Teenage Dream," to be honest.
This is #24 on iTunes right now. Doing surprisingly well despite no promotion and almost no mentioning of it before it dropped. Definitely a testament to how big of a cult following she has built up in the last two years. Really makes me think she could pull of scoring more hits in the near future. CRJ4's lead single might actually make a pretty big splash upon release.

Still at #24 on Itunes, such a legend. In all honestly surprised and thrilled that this has received some attention. I think that even though "Emotions" flopped, she built a huge amount of goodwill from it.

Is this officially being sent to pop? Not yet, so this is the reason why your post and 54generation's were merged with this thread.

Pretty solid!! If Can't stop the feeling was a hit last year, this should also be a hit this year. It's quite impressive how CRJ keeps crafting such good material. US is missing out! Hope that situation changes with CTTF

#27 on iTunes at the moment, it's so nice to see that she is the 2nd song on Hot New Tracks

I didn't realize that she's had six songs chart on the Hot 100 (the ones I didn't realize made it were "Tonight I'm Getting Over You" at #90 and "Beautiful" at #87).... I'm hoping that this, at the absolute very least, becomes her seventh.
Would be nice to see it become her fourth Top 40 hit on the H100, and maybe even the song that breaks her out of the "One-hit wonder" label in the eyes and ears of the general public.

I know this is just a soundtrack song and hasn't had a big promotional campaign (yet) and Carly isn't the biggest artist currently, etc.
But, I'm like legit angry so few people are talking about this song. It's that good.

Technically she's not a one hit wonder tho. I'm hoping people also remember her and Owl City's Top 10 hit, "Good Time". But, you're defintley right about the GP only knowing Call Me Maybe.

This is EVERYTHING I've been wanting from pop lately. Everyone has been letting me down, but of course CRJ swoops in so effortlessly.
WHO else?!

Oh believe me, I know. That's why I was careful to say "in the eyes and ears of the general public." You'd be surprised how many people don't remember "Good Time," or don't remember that it was the "Call Me Maybe" girl who sang it.

This is amazing for the same reason EMOTION was: So much of the current mainstream pop scene is disaffected, cynical, and sarcastic. Her sound and lyrics are just pure and genuine and it's a breath of fresh air. I can't wait until this trend is over, and I'm praying that even if this song doesn't break through, it at least helps awaken an interest in music like it.

Cuz apparently Owl City had been relevant in the past two years when that song came out?

This is good! Almost feels like "Can't Stop the Feeling, Pt. 2" but I mean that in a good way. And you're right--it's radio's fault they can't let go of her "Call Me Maybe" stigma. I mean, there's lamer songs that are playing on radio these days. I honestly thing for her next album she should collaborate with big shots like Kygo, Zedd, and The Chainsmokers. I liked her collaboration with The Knocks, but that really went nowhere. Granted they were managed by Scooter, so I see the collabo there. But seriously, she should be singing with the Chainsmokers, perhaps on a single that can be included on a reissue of Memories. Or when her contract with Interscope is up, maybe switch to RCA instead.

Or when her contract with Interscope is up, maybe switch to RCA instead. Look at how they've failed to do much for so many of their female pop artists, especially new ones and at radio – Betty Who, Tinashe, MUNA, Tayler Buono, FRANKIE, even Britney Spears – and you'll want to reconsider this idea.
