Side note - Until the number one digital song is selling less than 75k on an average week, streaming shouldn't be this strong. The fact that the most played song on the radio is out of the top ten because of streaming screams imbalance.

DWK is performing way better in airplay than in sales or streaming, so it being out of the top ten makes sense. The songs in the top ten are all strong on at least two platforms. DWK is really only strong on one, and even then it's not that strong. It's a pretty low ranking #1 in airplay right now. |

I am rapidly losing all the optimism I had on New Year's Eve about 2017. Upcoming month is going to be extremely frustrating. I can easily see the songs I like, All Time Low and Love On The Brain, being stuck in the 20s, while Mercy, the song I hate the most, will be the first one to break into top 10. :( Also all these fillers in the top 10! Can Juju finally die?! And Fake Love has probably only began its run in the top 10!
There are some interesting and good things happening below, but top 10 will remain extremely frustrating for a while.

ATRL is now closed to 'guest' views so I cannot post the Top 20 as I have been doing. It's weird how that happens. I go on there to look at some of their discussions occasionally and it seems as though that happens every 8-10 days for a couple days. |

kworb just updated today its digital sales estimates for the week with 24K Magic edging Bad & Boujee for #1 with an estimated 71k which is barely over the 70k that Black Beatles had the week before I Don't Wanna Live Forever debuted at #1.

Also, went up 48-39 in Digital Sales Songs and, as expected is not even in the Top 50 in Radio Songs. In conclusion, its being streamed mostly by people who don't have a subscription, mostly, probably Spotify and YouTube. |

One of the more surprising chart developments of the last few weeks is that Chill Bill went from being two spots above the drop zone on its 20th week to returning to its peak of #29. I know it fell because of J. Cole and Christmas songs, but that's still pretty impressive. Maybe it won't get stuck between years after all.

In case you're interested its last 3 weeks for streaming numbers (including the most recent H100 release) have looked like this for my estimates: 8.4m -> 13.6m -> 15.3m So that is why. Also, its sales number jumped to ~30k the most recent week. |

Although not about the Hot 100, I remember someone saying that the UK charts have become more stagnant with the introduction of streaming and people were talking about an imbalance on the Hot 100 between streaming and the other components. It seems it is showing here in the Irish charts also. Love Me Now has been top 3 on iTunes for nearly three weeks now yet falls #17-#18 this week. Scars To Your Beautiful has been top 15 on iTunes all week but is only #52 this week. The chart does not track airplay, just sales (digital and physical) and streams.

Both of Ed Sheeran's new songs are shattering Spotify and I hope that means that Castle On The Hill will be able to stick around and not be killed off by Shape Of You. But if it won't that's ok because Ed Sheeran would occupy two spots in the top 10 and there are other currently climbing songs that deserve to get there.
