Brian McComas - "All Comes Floodin' Down"40. Aaron Watson - "Bluebonnets (Julia's Song)" 44. Eric Church - "His Kind Of Money (My Kind Of Love)" 53. George Strait - "Drinkin' Man" 72. Chris Young - "Neon" Great idea for a thread. I'm going to steal from sabre14, 7 songs and will come back w/ 13 more. I particularly would advocate for Gary Allan, Wade Bowen and Brian McComas - how these three songs didn't become hits, I have no freaking clue. All Comes Flooding Down is masterful songwriting IMO.
Question for you sabre14, while I love Bluebonnets, don't you think That Look by Aaron Watson had everything you'd need for a Top 10 hit? Bluebonnets is an incredible song, but not as radio friendly as That Look IMO. I personally think if Blake Shelton had recorded That Look it would have shot to #1.
Just curious about your perspective.

Aaron's label situation right now won't allow any song he releases to be big hits at mainstream Country radio; same thing goes for "All Comes Floodin' Down" by Brian McComas in 2006, because he was on independent Katapult Records, which did not have as many resources as other labels. "That Look" is more radio-friendly but the thread is our personal favorites that never hit the top 20, I believe... If Aaron Watson was on a major label in the mid 90's, "Bluebonnets" would have gone top 10, no doubt in my mind.

"Crazy Over Me" - Dylan Scott
"Let's Fight" - Thompson Square
"Feel My Way To You" - Restless Heart
"My Kind Of Music" - Ray Scott
"Paradise" - John Anderson
"A Woman Knows" - John Anderson
"What I Did Right" - Sons Of The Desert

"Braid My Hair" - Randy Owen
"A Father's Love (The Only Way He Knew How) - Bucky Covington

Sorry but it's too hard to pick a top 20......too many good ones.....

Great song that may miss charting real high because Cody isn't on a major label. Hopefully someone will pick him up and this song will reach it's full potential....

I would most certainly agree with the aforementioned songs and add them to my list ("Angels," "Bluebonnets," "Drinkin' Man," "If I Don't Make It Back" "Goodbye On A Bad Day," "Papa Bear," "So You Don't Have To Love Me Anymore," "The Sound of a Million Dreams" and "We'll Come Back Around"), so I'll try and come up with some different ones (both newer and older in no particular order).
1. "21 Summer," Brothers Osborne (2016) 2. "Are We In Trouble Now," Randy Travis (1996) 3. "Are You With Me," Easton Corbin (2016) 4. "The Back of Your Hand," Dwight Yoakam (2003) 5. "Beat of Your Heart," Cory Morrow (2005) 6. "Dark Horse," Mila Mason (1997) 7. "Don't Lie," Trace Adkins (1999) 8. "Finding My Way Back Home," Lee Ann Womack (2006) 9. "Hard to Be Cool," Joe Nichols (2014) 10. "I Got a Car," George Strait (2014) 11. "I Want to with You," David Ball (1999) 12. "If You Ever Feel Like Lovin' Me Again," Clay Walker (2001) 13. "It's Not Over," Mark Chesnutt w/ Alison Krauss and Vince Gill (1998) 14. "Mayday," Cam (2016) 15. "Never Alone," Vince Gill (1989) 16. "No Fear," Terri Clark (2001) 17. "Now That's All Right With Me," Mandy Barnett (1996) 18. "On a Bus to St. Cloud," Trisha Yearwood (1995) 19. "Riser," Dierks Bentley (2015) 20. "Southern Style," Darius Rucker (2015)

I'm a pop poster and I don't know much about country music as I've only listened to albums by Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Sam Hunt, Kacey Musgraves & Luke Bryan (aka the poppier ones). So, it was hard to find 20 songs that never made the Top 20 as I only know the hits. That's the best I can do
Top 12: 12. Dime Store Cowgirl - Kacey Musgraves 11. Don't Rush - Kelly Clarkson feat. Vince Gill 10. Riser - Dierks Bentley 9. Ronan - Taylor Swift 8. Keep It To Yourself - Kacey Musgraves 7. Mayday - Cam 6. Inside Your Heaven - Carrie Underwood (not sure about this one) 5. Eyes Open - Taylor Swift 4. Today Was A Fairytale - Taylor Swift 3. Single For The Summer - Sam Hunt 2. Change - Taylor Swift 1. Safe & Sound - Taylor Swift feat. The Civil Wars (I'm not sure about this one either)

Man, this was tough to cut off at 20. I just could've kept going so easily, lol. I also capped it at 1 entry per artist like some others did, because otherwise I could probably do a half dozen just for Sara Evans. 01. Coalmine - Sara Evans 02. Better - Maggie Rose 03. Not Ready to Make Nice - Dixie Chicks 04. Where Country Grows - Ashton Shepherd 05. Staying's Worse Than Leaving - Sunny Sweeney 06. 100 Proof - Kellie Pickler 07. Better Get to Livin' - Dolly Parton 08. Angels Working Overtime - Deana Carter 09. Giddy on Up - Laura Bell Bundy 10. I Do - Jewel 11. Shotgun Girl - The JaneDear Girls 12. Bring Me Down - Miranda Lambert 13. Neon - Chris Young 14. Cheater, Cheater - Joey + Rory 15. Lay Low - Josh Turner 16. She Didn't Have Time - Terri Clark 17. Tennessee - The Wreckers 18. Good Lord Willing - Little Big Town 19. Shut Up and Fish - Maddie & Tae 20. Dime Store Cowgirl - Kacey Musgraves

So, so many...I'll try to do one per artist, but it's tough, haha.
1. Going Out Like That - Reba McEntire (I could have done a top 20 just of her, lol) 2. Stealing Kisses - Faith Hill 3. Flies On The Butter - Wynonna 4. Not Ready To Make Nice - Dixie Chicks 5. On A Bus To St. Cloud - Trisha Yearwood (another one who could have her own top 20) 6. Phones Are Ringing All Over Town - Martina McBride (she could almost have her own top 20, too) 7. Home - Dolly Parton (I really wanted to include "You Can't Make Old Friends", too) 8. Unlove You - Jennifer Nettles 9. One Day Closer To You - Carolyn Dawn Johnson 10. What Made You Say That - Shania Twain 11. What I Cannot Change - LeAnn Rimes 12. Dead Flowers - Miranda Lambert 13. Why Ain't I Running - Garth Brooks 14. House Of Cards - Mary Chapin Carpenter 15. Send It On Down - Lee Ann Womack 16. Young Man's Town - Vince Gill 17. What If Jesus Comes Back Like That - Collin Raye 18. Stripes - Brandy Clark 19. Follow Your Arrow - Kacey Musgraves 20. More Than I Wanted To Know - Regina Regina

Another one for me is "Play, Ruby, Play" by Clinton Gregory. So catchy, and I love the combination of Wurlitzer electric piano and electric fiddle.
And OH MY GOD HOW DID I LEAVE HOUSE OF CARDS OFF MY LIST.

I love Billy Currington's "Drinkin' Town With A Football Problem". Where I grew up and where I went to college are two very football-centric communities, so it's certainly a song right up my alley. Definitely sounded like a smash when I first heard it. Oh well.

"Heartbreak Town" is fantastic. I still don't get why that one stalled out. I love Trisha's cover of "Inside Out", too.

I'd really have to think hard about this (harder than I'm willing to right now), but I heard this one today and remembered how much I loved it. "What Made You Say That" by Shania Twain.
