I know "Shape Of You" will suffer some type of 8th day effect, but it should still lead "BAB" in airplay. It will also lead it in sales, and it's apparently broken Spotify records and will have millions of streams from YouTube. What would keep it from beating "BAB" for #1?

So it'll be ahead in sales, streams and airplay, all of which by a pretty large margin. So it's safe to say that it'll be number one.

Happy to see British artists are cracking the US charts some more. Would rather see Ed Sheeran, James Arthur, calum Scott, Adele, clean bandit and others like in the top 10 than what we have now.

YouTube US Streams for 1/6 - 1/9 Bad And Boujee: 11,749,928 Shape Of You: 2,507,109 So the #1 debut is still possible, but just not as easy to get.

Wow, considering the overall YT total for "SOY," it must be one of the biggest videos (i.e. an artist popular globally) to have so many of its streams from outside the U.S.

Chainsmokers coming for #1 after shape of You with "Paris" out Friday Well Closer is still a top 5 song, so I'm thinking Closer will take away from the success of it just like All We Know and Setting Fire.

Neither of those were released to radio. They were just promo singles. Closer has since been their last full fledged single.

^ Also, although Closer is still big, it has been out for a while and is overall descending and decreasing in points, so the idea of it "taking away" from a new single shouldn't be a problem. By that logic, should an artist never release a new single if they have a current one in the top 5/top 10?
As for SOY, I think it will most probably be #1. It will have a 2 to 1 lead or higher over B&B in sales, a comfortable lead in airplay, and should at least be close to B&B in streaming, so it seems it would be hard for it to not be #1.
It's also surprising to see the continued high gains of DWK in airplay. I know a lot of it is due to the post freeze, but the song seems kind of old now.

Closer is just a huge song. I've liked it since the first time I heard it, got sick of it, kept hearing it and liked it again, got sick of it, now I like it again.

Pretty sure All We Know went for adds? Or did Z100 simply add it on its own?
In regards to Paris, if its good and radio likes it, it'll smash no problem just like they did with Don't Let Me Down and Roses.

Kinda random, but I've been meaning to ask this for a while: Does Billboard count satellite radio airplay or just terrestrial radio?

When did they start tracking satellite radio? I know for years Silvio said they couldn't because it didn't mix with geo-specific terrestrial arbitron data.

When did they start tracking satellite radio? I know for years Silvio said they couldn't because it didn't mix with geo-specific terrestrial arbitron data. According to the List of most-listened-to radio programs wiki, Arbitron first monitored Sirius XM to determine the most listened radio program from 2007 to early 2008. Arbitron got acquired by Nielsen in 2013. When exactly did they start to monitor music is unclear. There is a competing service called Eastlan Ratings that includes satellite radio for its local ratings.

Yeah Paris is the definition of Basic. It's a quality song, it's just so....basic in just about every way.
Yeah there's no chance this breaks top 20, as much as I hope it will.
