BLONDIE WILL RELEASE COLLABORATIVE ALBUM POLLINATOR IN MARCHSia, Johnny Marr and more worked on the record Blondie will release collaborative album Pollinator in March Photo: Press NYC icons Blondie will release a new record Pollinator in March, which will feature collaborations from the likes of Johnny Marr and Sia. Speaking in this months MOJO Magazine, the 'Heart Of Glass' band give the first taste of new material - the follow-up to 2014's Ghosts Of Download. With the band working more collaboratively with other artists on this project, guitarist Chris Stein explains to MOJO: "We thought to ask people because there's so much good music swirling about" rather than it being a result of running thin on ideas. "We sorted the contributors ourselves, or someone would send us a bunch of songs and we'd pick one" he continued. The band's eleventh studio album will feature songs written by TV On The Radio's David Sitek, Johnny Marr, Sia, Charli XCX, Dev Hynes and more - but will only include two collaborations between Blondie founding members Debbie Harry and Chris Stein. Despite heavy use of outside input, Stein assures fans "The whole thing is us" and says "they're all songs we believe in". Pollinator was recorded at The Magic Shop in the band's hometown of New York City - the same studio David Bowie recorded his final two albums. Meanwhile, it has been announced that Blondie will support Phil Collins at his Aviva Stadium show in Dublin this June, and will play Australian dates with Cyndi Lauper. source

"Fun" is amazing. It could have appeared on one of their 80s albums. It sounds totally from that time, yet it doesn't sound dated.

I really like the new album. Way better than their recent albums. Many songs in Pollinator sound like the late 70/early 80s Blondie.

Yay! She still sounds and looks badass :) Love the singles from Pollinator. I bought the CD last month but haven't listened to it yet. Look forward to it, though! Blondie is among my favorite acts ever. Memories go back to childhood with smashes like Heart of Glass, Tide is High, Call Me, Rapture being part of the soundtrack of my childhood Then Maria as a huge comeback song And then Blondie playing in Peru for the first time in the early 2000s and being the first non-Latin act I saw live --in first row, managing to touch Debbie's hand!!! :o Iconic

The long delayed boxset is finally being released! It looks stunning, definitely buying this. That being said, the way they talked about this over the years, it was going to be exhaustive. Right off the bat I see single mixes and 12" mixes missing, which is annoying. But nothing I can't get somewhere else, still a great collection overall. Link

LinkI just ordered the rarities 3 disc version after sampling. Used a birthday gift card from my parents to purchase it, some Samsung Earbuds, Demi, and Muse. Outside of their singles, I don't know Blondie that well and the alternate mixes sound great!

They've been on my wish list forever! : )

This boxset is GOOOOORGEOUS. And heavy, lol. I got the vinyl and 8 CD versions and the package was over twenty pounds. But what a plethora of material! The book is an excellent read so far, great photos. I haven't even made a dent in the actual music, but so far the mastering sounds good to my ears.
Still annoyed that some of the single edits and 12 inches are missing. If you're gonna make something so massive and borderline exhaustive, why not go all the way? I already own most of them on the Blondie singles boxset, but I would have loved a better remaster. It would have been awesome to include the commissioned remixes of their classic material that have been done over the years. Some of those mixes were top notch stuff.
But whatever, y'all know I gotta have something to b*tch about, lol. A damn good set for an iconic band.

I really enjoy the outtakes and demos for the most part, but some of disc 3 is unnecessary. Not a single person on God's green earth needed the Chris Stein mix of Call Me or Heart of Glass. Yuletide Throwdown is a mess too but overall, I'm glad I got the rarities collection!

I wonder what failed project they were for, even they can't seem to remember (for good reason). I will say, I listened to the Chris Stein "War Child" mix and all I heard was "Always Ascending." Their fingerprints are all over that dance punk revival that popped-up post 2000.

I mean...it just sounds like they were bare bones instrumentals of completed classics, but who needs a synth-only version of Call Me or guitar x synthesizer drum preset version of HoG? I get that the demos were essentially full-fledged songs, but still.
