...on the charts, of course. The title was too long.
So can you think of albums from which the last single turned out to be the biggest hit?
"Hybrid Theory" by Linkin Park is one that comes to my mind.

Rihanna:
Good Girl Gone Bad: While "Umbrella" was the biggest hit, "Don't Stop the Music" was the second to last single and did better than "Shut Up and Drive", "Hate That I Love You" and "Rehab"
Rated R: "Rude Boy" was the 3rd out of 5 singles and did better than them all.

This is on the country charts, but Dan + Shay's Where It All Began comes to mind. "Nothin' Like You" was the third and final single from the album and peaked at #1 whereas the previous singles "19 You + Me" (#11) and "Show You Off" (#21) didn't.
I think Lady Antebellum's self-titled debut qualifies as well. I think the final single "I Run to You" was the most successful out of the three singles from the album, the rest being "Love Don't Live Here" and "Lookin' for a Good Time".
EDIT Also, if we consider Justin Timberlake's The 20/20 Experience Part 1 and Part 2 as separate, "Not a Bad Thing" was the biggest out of the three singles from part 2, but I guess if you put it together "Mirrors" blows it out of the water in terms of chart performance.

Neither of those were the last singles. The only one that comes to mind is "Moves Like Jagger" from Maroon 5's Hands All Over album. It was a re-issue though and the only track added to it as well.

Idk how many examples people can find for this since labels usually want to follow up a smash single with another song, making it not the last song in the era.
On alt though there's First by Cold War Kids and Savior by Rise Against.

For Kelly Clarkson's Piece by Piece, the title track charted the highest. "Heartbeat Song" had more longevity though.

OneRepublic "Good Life" and "Counting Stars" yeah? Not including deluxe songs added to re-releases.

Borderline - Madonna (from the self-titled debut album Madonna) Though Lucky Star peaked 6 places higher at #4, Borderline with it's #10 peak proved to have the best overall chart performance compared to the 4 singles preceding it
And sadly Bitch I'm Madonna - Madonna ft Nicki Minaj, the only charting single from Rebel Heart so it wins by default, though the 2 singles preceding it are a million times better, the song was a cute bop for a couple days...or less

That was the only single in the US though I think. Lady A's first album is what first came to my mind, I Run To You was actually the biggest song on Country radio that year I think, or if not then up around there. For some reason I thought Marchin' On was released after Good Life, but I was mistaken, so Waking Up counts. Duran Duran's 1983 album Seven and The Ragged Tiger is another example: Union Of The Snake - #3 New Moon On Monday - #10 The Reflex - #1 Special mention should go to Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814, which put its 6th and 7th singles at #1, although they weren't as big as the other two #1 hits.

Nelly: "Country Grammar" (his first popular album):
On both R&R CHR-Pop and the Billboard Hot 100, "Ride Wit Me" featuring City Spud did better than "Country Grammar (Hot Shit)" and "E.I."

Nelly: "Country Grammar" (his first popular album): On both R&R CHR-Pop and the Billboard Hot 100, "Ride Wit Me" featuring City Spud did better than "Country Grammar (Hot s**t)" and "E.I." But didn't he release "Batter Up" as the final single? It received a video and everything but flopped.

LOT was actually neither the last single from 4 or the most succesful (BTINH peaked higher in the US) LOT spent 14 weeks at #1 on UAC though and sold more than BTINH. Just because BTINY peaked higher doesn't mean it was more successful. And what was the last single then?

But BTINY made the Billboard year end list, LOT didn't Apparently End Of Time was the last single. EOT was never officially released. BTINH made the year end list because it got more points from being played on Pop radio. Either way, LOT is far more remembered by the Hive and the general public, has sold more, and get more recurrent play.

I'm not sure if it was actually sent to radio by the label, but Dance For You was a top 10 R&B hit after LOT.

But didn't he release "Batter Up" as the final single? It received a video and everything but flopped. You're right. Was "Batter Up" sent to CHR-Pop? It didn't make the CHR-Pop chart, so I didn't think about it earlier.

Fifth Harmony's Worth It was the final single from Reflection. Peaked at #12; only song from that album to reach the top 20.

"Moves Like Jagger" was the only Hot 100 #1 (or even a top 10 hit) from "Hands All Over" and it was released last. Outperformed "Misery", "Give A Little More" and "Never Gonna Leave This Bed".

"Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)" was the last and most succesful single from the album of the same name This one has an asterisk to it because the previous single, Love Is A Stranger, was re-released after this. In the US, LIAS was the clear second single as Sweet Dreams was released first.
